< Hebrews 2 >

1 For this reason we should give heed more abundantly to the things [we have] heard, lest in any way we should slip away.
Nítorí náà, ó yẹ kí àwa máa fi iyè sí àwọn nǹkan wọ̀n-ọn-nì gidigidi tí àwa ti gbọ́, kí a má ba à gbá wa lọ kúrò nínú wọn nígbà kan.
2 For if the word which was spoken by angels was firm, and every transgression and disobedience received just retribution,
Nítorí bí ọ̀rọ̀ tí a tí ẹnu àwọn angẹli sọ bá sì dúró ṣinṣin, àti tí olúkúlùkù ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ sí òfin àti àìgbọ́ràn gba ìjìyà tí ó tọ́ sí i,
3 how shall we escape if we have been negligent of so great salvation, which, having had its commencement in being spoken [of] by the Lord, has been confirmed to us by those who have heard;
kín ni ohun náà tí ó mú wa lérò pé a lè bọ́ kúrò nínú ìjìyà bí a kò bá náání ìgbàlà ńlá yìí? Ìgbàlà tí Olúwa fúnra rẹ̀ kọ́kọ́ kéde, èyí tí a sì fi ìdí rẹ̀ múlẹ̀ fún wa láti ọwọ́ àwọn tí ó gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ náà lẹ́nu rẹ̀.
4 God bearing, besides, witness with [them] to [it], both by signs and wonders, and various acts of power, and distributions of [the] Holy Spirit, according to his will?
Ọlọ́run jẹ́rìí sí i nípa àwọn iṣẹ́ àmì àti ìyanu àti oríṣìíríṣìí iṣẹ́ agbára àti nípa ẹ̀bùn Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ tí a pín gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìfẹ́ rẹ̀.
5 For he has not subjected to angels the habitable world which is to come, of which we speak;
Nítorí pé, kì í ṣe abẹ́ ìṣàkóso àwọn angẹli ni ó fi ayé tí ń bọ̀, tí àwa ń sọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀ sí.
6 but one has testified somewhere, saying, What is man, that thou rememberest him, or son of man that thou visitest him?
Ṣùgbọ́n ibìkan wà tí ẹnìkan tí jẹ́rìí pé “Kí ni ènìyàn tí ìwọ fi ń ṣe ìrántí rẹ̀, tàbí ọmọ ènìyàn, tí ìwọ fi ń bẹ̀ ẹ́ wò?
7 Thou hast made him some little inferior to the angels; thou hast crowned him with glory and honour, [and hast set him over the works of thy hands; ]
Ìwọ dá a ní onírẹ̀lẹ̀ díẹ̀ ju àwọn angẹli lọ; ìwọ fi ògo àti ọlá de e ni adé, ìwọ sì fi í jẹ olórí iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ rẹ,
8 thou hast subjected all things under his feet. For in subjecting all things to him, he has left nothing unsubject to him. But now we see not yet all things subjected to him,
Ìwọ fi ohun gbogbo sábẹ́ ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀.” Ní ti fífi ohun gbogbo sábẹ́ rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n àwa kò ì tí ì rí ohun kan tí ó kù tí kò sí ní abẹ́ àkóso rẹ̀. Síbẹ̀ nísinsin yìí àwa kò ì tí ì rí pé ó fi ohun gbogbo sábẹ́ ìṣàkóso rẹ̀.
9 but we see Jesus, who [was] made some little inferior to angels on account of the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; so that by the grace of God he should taste death for every thing.
Ṣùgbọ́n àwa rí Jesu ẹni tí a rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ díẹ̀ ju àwọn angẹli lọ fún àkókò díẹ̀, àní Jesu, ẹni tí a fi ògo àti ọlá dé ní adé nítorí ìjìyà wa; kí ó lè tọ́ ikú wò fún olúkúlùkù ènìyàn nípa oore-ọ̀fẹ́ Ọlọ́run.
10 For it became him, for whom [are] all things, and by whom [are] all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make perfect the leader of their salvation through sufferings.
Nítorí pé ó yẹ fún Ọlọ́run, nítorí nípasẹ̀ ẹni tí ohun gbogbo ṣẹ̀ wà, láti mú àwọn ọmọ púpọ̀ wá sínú ògo, láti ṣe balógun ìgbàlà wọn ni àṣepé nípa ìjìyà.
11 For both he that sanctifies and those sanctified [are] all of one; for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Nítorí àti ẹni tí ń sọ ni di mímọ́ àti àwọn tí a ń sọ di mímọ́, láti ọ̀dọ̀ ẹnìkan ṣoṣo ni gbogbo wọn ti wá, nítorí èyí ni kò ṣe tijú láti pè wọ́n ni arákùnrin.
12 saying, I will declare thy name to my brethren; in [the] midst of [the] assembly will I sing thy praises.
Àti wí pé, “Èmi ó sọ̀rọ̀ orúkọ rẹ̀ fún àwọn ará mi, ni àárín ìjọ ni èmi yóò kọrin ìyìn rẹ̀.”
13 And again, I will trust in him. And again, Behold, I and the children which God has given me.
Àti pẹ̀lú, “Èmi yóò gbẹ́kẹ̀ mi lé e.” Àti pẹ̀lú, “Kíyèsi í, èmi rèé, èmi àti àwọn ọmọ tí Ọlọ́run fi fún mi.”
14 Since therefore the children partake of blood and flesh, he also, in like manner, took part in the same, that through death he might annul him who has the might of death, that is, the devil;
Ǹjẹ́ ni ìwọ̀n bí àwọn ọmọ tí ṣe alábápín ará àti ẹ̀jẹ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ ni òun pẹ̀lú sì ṣe alábápín nínú ohun kan náà; kí ó lè ti ipa ikú rẹ̀ pa ẹni tí ó ní agbára ikú run, èyí ni èṣù.
15 and might set free all those who through fear of death through the whole of their life were subject to bondage.
Kí o sì lè gba gbogbo àwọn tí ó tìtorí ìbẹ̀rù ikú wà lábẹ́ ìdè lọ́jọ́ ayé wọn gbogbo kúrò lọ́wọ́ ìbẹ̀rù.
16 For he does not indeed take hold of angels [by the hand], but he takes hold of the seed of Abraham.
Nítorí pé, nítòótọ́, kì í ṣe àwọn angẹli ni ó ṣe ìrànlọ́wọ́ fún, ṣùgbọ́n àwọn irú-ọmọ Abrahamu ni ó ṣe ìrànlọ́wọ́ fún.
17 Wherefore it behoved him in all things to be made like to [his] brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things relating to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people;
Nítorí náà, ó yẹ pé nínú ohun gbogbo kí ó dàbí àwọn ará rẹ̀, kí ó lè jẹ́ aláàánú àti olóòtítọ́ alábojútó Àlùfáà nínú ohun tí i ṣe ti Ọlọ́run, kí o lè ṣe ètùtù fún ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ àwọn ènìyàn.
18 for, in that himself has suffered, being tempted, he is able to help those that are being tempted.
Nítorí níwọ̀n bí òun tìkára rẹ̀ ti jìyà tí a sì ti dán an wò, òun ní agbára láti ran àwọn tí a ń dánwò lọ́wọ́.
