Hebrews 12
1 Let us also therefore, having so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, laying aside every weight, and sin which so easily entangles us, run with endurance the race that lies before us,
Portanto nós também, pois que estamos rodeados de uma tão grande nuvem de testemunhas, deixemos toda a carga, e o pecado que tão comodamente nos rodeia, e corramos com paciência a carreira que nos está proposta:
2 looking stedfastly on Jesus the leader and completer of faith: who, in view of the joy lying before him, endured [the] cross, having despised [the] shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Olhando para Jesus, autor e consumador da fé, o qual pelo gozo que lhe estava proposto suportou a cruz, desprezando a afronta, e assentou-se à dextra do trono de Deus.
3 For consider well him who endured so great contradiction from sinners against himself, that ye be not weary, fainting in your minds.
Considerai pois aquele que contra si mesmo suportou tal contradição dos pecadores, para que não enfraqueçais, desfalecendo em vossos ânimos.
4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, wrestling against sin.
Ainda não resististes até ao sangue, combatendo contra o pecado.
5 And ye have quite forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: My son, despise not [the] chastening of [the] Lord, nor faint [when] reproved by him;
E já vos esquecestes da exortação que, como a filhos, discorre convosco: Filho meu, não desprezes a correção do Senhor, e não desmaies quando por ele fores repreendido;
6 for whom [the] Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives.
Porque o Senhor corrige ao que ama, e açoita a qualquer que recebe por filho.
7 Ye endure for chastening, God conducts himself towards you as towards sons; for who is the son that the father chastens not?
Se suportais a correção, Deus vos trata como a filhos; porque, que filho há a quem o pai não corrija?
8 But if ye are without chastening, of which all have been made partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Mas, se estais sem disciplina, da qual todos são feitos participantes, logo sois bastardos, e não filhos.
9 Moreover we have had the fathers of our flesh as chasteners, and we reverenced [them]; shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?
Também, na verdade, tivemos nossos pais, segundo a carne, para nos corrigir, e os reverenciamos: não nos sujeitaremos muito mais ao Pai dos espíritos, para vivermos?
10 For they indeed chastened for a few days, as seemed good to them; but he for profit, in order to the partaking of his holiness.
Porque aqueles, na verdade, por um pouco de tempo, nos corrigiam como bem lhes parecia; porém este, para nosso proveito, para sermos participantes da sua santidade.
11 But no chastening at the time seems to be [matter] of joy, but of grief; but afterwards yields [the] peaceful fruit of righteousness to those exercised by it.
E, na verdade, toda a correção, ao presente, não parece ser causa de gozo, senão de tristeza, mas depois produz um fruto pacífico de justiça aos exercitados por ela
12 Wherefore lift up the hands that hang down, and the failing knees;
Portanto tornai a levantar as mãos cançadas, e os joelhos desconjuntados,
13 and make straight paths for your feet, that that which is lame be not turned aside; but that rather it may be healed.
E fazei retas veredas para os vossos pés, para que o que manqueja se não desvie inteiramente, antes seja sarado.
14 Pursue peace with all, and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord:
Segui a paz com todos, e a santificação, sem a qual ninguém verá o Senhor:
15 watching lest [there be] any one who lacks the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble [you], and many be defiled by it;
Atendendo a que ninguém se prive da graça de Deus, a que nenhuma raiz de amargura, brotando, vos perturbe, e por ela muitos se contaminem.
16 lest [there be] any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one meal sold his birthright;
Que ninguém seja fornicário, ou profano, como Esaú, que por um manjar vendeu o seu direito de primogenitura.
17 for ye know that also afterwards, desiring to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, (for he found no place for repentance) although he sought it earnestly with tears.
Porque bem sabeis que, querendo ainda depois herdar a benção, foi rejeitado, porque não achou lugar de arrependimento, ainda que com lágrimas o buscou.
18 For ye have not come to [the mount] that might be touched and was all on fire, and to obscurity, and darkness, and tempest,
Porque não chegastes ao monte que se não podia tocar, e ao fogo incêndido, e à escuridão, e às trevas, e à tempestade,
19 and trumpet's sound, and voice of words; which they that heard, excusing themselves, declined [the] word being addressed to them any more:
E ao sonido da trombeta, e à voz das palavras, a qual os que a ouviram pediram que se lhes não falasse mais;
20 (for they were not able to bear what was enjoined: And if a beast should touch the mountain, it shall be stoned;
Porque não podiam suportar o que se lhes mandava: se até uma besta tocar o monte, será apedrejada ou passada com uma flecha.
21 and, so fearful was the sight, Moses said, I am exceedingly afraid and full of trembling; )
E tão terrível era a visão, que Moisés disse: Estou todo assombrado, e tremendo.
22 but ye have come to mount Zion; and to [the] city of [the] living God, heavenly Jerusalem; and to myriads of angels,
Mas chegastes ao monte de Sião, e à cidade do Deus vivo, à Jerusalém celestial, e aos muitos milhares de anjos;
23 the universal gathering; and to [the] assembly of the firstborn [who are] registered in heaven; and to God, judge of all; and to [the] spirits of just [men] made perfect;
Á assembléia geral e igreja dos primogênitos, que estão inscritos nos céus, e a Deus, o juiz de todos, e aos espíritos dos justos aperfeiçoados
24 and to Jesus, mediator of a new covenant; and to [the] blood of sprinkling, speaking better than Abel.
E a Jesus, o Mediador do Novo Testamento, e ao sangue da aspersão, que fala melhores coisas do que o de Abel.
25 See that ye refuse not him that speaks. For if those did not escape who had refused him who uttered the oracles on earth, much more we who turn away from him [who does so] from heaven:
Vede que não rejeiteis ao que fala; porque, se não escaparam aqueles que rejeitaram ao que na terra dava respostas divinas, muito menos escaparemos nós, se nos desviarmos daquele que é dos céus
26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now he has promised, saying, Yet once will I shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.
A voz do qual moveu então a terra, porém agora anunciou, dizendo: Ainda uma vez comoverei, não só a terra, senão também o céu.
27 But this Yet once, signifies the removing of what is shaken, as being made, that what is not shaken may remain.
E esta palavra: Ainda uma vez, mostra a mudança das coisas móveis, como coisas feitas, para que as imóveis permaneçam.
28 Wherefore let us, receiving a kingdom not to be shaken, have grace, by which let us serve God acceptably with reverence and fear.
Pelo que, recebendo o reino imóvel, retenhamos a graça, pela qual sirvamos a Deus agradavelmente com reverência e piedade;
29 For also our God [is] a consuming fire.
Porque o nosso Deus é um fogo consumidor.
