Genesis 5
1 This is the book of Adam's generations. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him.
Voici le livre de la génération d’Adam. Au jour que Dieu créa l’homme, c’est à la ressemblance de Dieu qu’il le fit.
2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
Il créa un homme et une femme, et il les bénit: et il les appela du nom d’Adam, au jour où ils furent créés.
3 And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot [a son] in his likeness, after his image, and called his name Seth.
Or Adam vécut cent trente ans, et il engendra un fils à son image et à sa ressemblance, et il l’appela du nom de Seth.
4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years; and he begot sons and daughters.
Et les jours d’Adam, après qu’il eut engendré Seth, furent de huit cents ans; et il eut encore des fils et des filles.
5 And all the days of Adam that he lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
Ainsi tout le temps que vécut Adam fut de neuf cent trente ans, et il mourut.
6 And Seth lived a hundred and five years, and begot Enosh.
Seth aussi vécut cent cinq ans, et il engendra Enos.
7 And Seth lived after he had begotten Enosh eight hundred and seven years, and begot sons and daughters.
Et Seth vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Enos, huit cent sept ans, et il eut des fils et des filles.
8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.
Ainsi tous les jours de Seth furent de neuf cent douze ans, et il mourut.
9 And Enosh lived ninety years, and begot Cainan.
Enos vécut quatre-vingt-dix ans, et engendra Caïnan,
10 And Enosh lived after he had begotten Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begot sons and daughters.
Après la naissance duquel il vécut huit cent quinze ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
11 And all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.
Ainsi tous les jours d’Enos furent de neuf cent cinq ans, et il mourut.
12 And Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalaleel.
Caïnan vécut soixante-dix ans, et il engendra Malaléel.
13 And Cainan lived after he had begotten Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begot sons and daughters.
Et Caïnan vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Malaléel, huit cent quarante ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
14 And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.
Ainsi tous les jours de Caïnan furent de neuf cent dix ans, et il mourut.
15 And Mahalaleel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared.
Quant à Malaléel, il vécut soixante-cinq ans, et il engendra Jared.
16 And Mahalaleel lived after he had begotten Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters.
Et Malaléel vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Jared, huit cent trente ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
17 And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.
Ainsi tous les jours de Malaléel furent de huit cent quatrevingt-quinze ans, et il mourut.
18 And Jared lived a hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch.
Jared vécut soixante-deux ans, et il engendra Hénoch.
19 And Jared lived after he had begotten Enoch eight hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.
Et Jared vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Hénoch, huit cents ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
20 And all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died.
Ainsi tous les jours de Jared furent de neuf cent soixante-deux ans, et il mourut.
21 And Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methushelah.
Hénoch vécut soixante-cinq ans, et il engendra Mathusala.
22 And Enoch walked with God after he had begotten Methushelah three hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.
Or Hénoch marcha avec Dieu, et vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Mathusala, trois cents ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.
Ainsi tous les jours d’Hénoch furent de trois cent soixante cinq ans.
24 And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.
Il marcha donc avec Dieu, et il ne parut plus, parce que Dieu l’enleva.
25 And Methushelah lived a hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lemech.
Mathusala aussi vécut cent quatre-vingt-sept ans, et il engendra Lamech.
26 And Methushelah lived after he had begotten Lemech seven hundred and eighty-two years, and begot sons and daughters.
Or Mathusala vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Lamech, sept cent quatre-vingt-deux ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
27 And all the days of Methushelah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.
Ainsi tous les jours de Mathusala furent de neuf cent soixante-neuf ans, et il mourut.
28 And Lemech lived a hundred and eighty-two years, and begot a son.
Lamech vécut cent quatre-vingt-deux ans, et il engendra un fils.
29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This [one] shall comfort us concerning our work and concerning the toil of our hands, because of the ground which Jehovah has cursed.
Il l’appela du nom de Noé, disant: Celui-ci nous consolera des œuvres et des travaux pénibles de nos mains dans cette terre qu’a maudite le Seigneur.
30 And Lemech lived after he had begotten Noah five hundred and ninety-five years, and begot sons and daughters.
Et Lamech vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Noé, cinq cent quatre-vingt-quinze ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
31 And all the days of Lemech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.
Ainsi tous les jours de Lamech furent de sept cent soixante dix-sept ans, et il mourut. Mais Noé, lorsqu’il avait cinq cents ans, engendra Sem, Cham et Japheth.
32 And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
