Genesis 25

1 And Abraham took another wife named Keturah.

౧అబ్రాహాము మళ్ళీ ఇంకో స్త్రీని పెళ్ళి చేసుకున్నాడు. ఆమె పేరు కెతూరా.

2 And she bore him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

౨ఆమె ద్వారా అతనికి జిమ్రాను, యొక్షాను, మెదాను, మిద్యాను, ఇష్బాకు, షూవహు అనేవాళ్ళు పుట్టారు.

3 And Jokshan begot Sheba and Dedan; and the sons of Dedan were the Asshurim, and the Letushim, and the Leummim.

౩యొక్షాను షేబ, దెదానులకు జన్మనిచ్చాడు. అష్షూరీయులు, లెతూషీయులు, లెయుమీయులు అనే జాతులు ఈ దెదాను సంతానమే.

4 And the sons of Midian were Ephah, and Epher, and Enoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were sons of Keturah.

౪మిద్యాను కొడుకులు ఎవరంటే ఏయిఫా, ఏఫెరు, హనోకు, అబీదా, ఎల్దాయా అనేవాళ్ళు.

5 And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.

౫వీళ్ళందరూ కెతురా సంతానం. అబ్రాహాము తన సంపదనంతా ఇస్సాకుకు ఇచ్చేశాడు.

6 And to the sons of the concubines that Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and, while he yet lived, sent them away from Isaac his son, eastward to the east country.

౬అబ్రాహాము తాను బ్రతికి ఉండగానే తన ఉంపుడుగత్తెల కొడుకులకు కానుకలిచ్చి తన కొడుకు ఇస్సాకు దగ్గర నుండి వారిని తూర్పు ప్రాంతాలకు పంపి వేశాడు.

7 And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived: a hundred and seventy-five years.

౭అబ్రాహాము మొత్తం నూట డెబ్భై ఐదు సంవత్సరాలు జీవించాడు.

8 And Abraham expired and died in a good old age, old and full [of days]; and was gathered to his peoples.

౮అబ్రాహాము సుదీర్ఘకాలం జీవించి నిండు వృద్ధాప్యంలో సంపూర్ణ జీవితం గడిపి చనిపోయి తన పితరులను చేరుకున్నాడు.

9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which was opposite to Mamre —

౯అతని కొడుకులు ఇస్సాకూ, ఇష్మాయేలూ కలసి మమ్రే ఎదురుగా ఉన్న మక్పేలా గుహలో అతణ్ణి పాతి పెట్టారు. అది హిత్తీయుడైన సోహరు కుమారుడు ఎఫ్రోనుకు చెందిన పొలంలో ఉంది.

10 the field that Abraham had purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.

౧౦అబ్రాహాము హేతు వారసుల దగ్గర కొన్న ఈ పొలంలోనే అబ్రాహామునూ అతని భార్య శారానూ పాతిపెట్టారు.

11 And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac. And Isaac dwelt at Beer-lahai-roi.

౧౧అబ్రాహాము చనిపోయిన తరువాత దేవుడు అతని కొడుకు ఇస్సాకును ఆశీర్వదించాడు. ఆ సమయంలో ఇస్సాకు బెయేర్‌ లహాయి రోయి దగ్గర నివాసమున్నాడు.

12 And these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's bondwoman, bore to Abraham.

౧౨ఐగుప్తీయురాలూ శారా దాసీ అయిన హాగరు ద్వారా అబ్రాహాముకు పుట్టిన ఇష్మాయేలు వంశావళి ఇది.

13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael by their names according to their generations: Nebaioth, the firstborn of Ishmael; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

౧౩ఇష్మాయేలు పెద్ద కొడుకు అయిన నేబాయోతూ, కేదారు, అద్బయేలూ, మిబ్శామూ,

14 and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

౧౪మిష్మా, దూమానమశ్శా,

15 Hadad and Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedmah.

౧౫హదరూ, తేమా, యెతూరూ, నాపీషూ, కెదెమా.

16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, in their hamlets and their encampments — twelve princes of their peoples.

౧౬ఇష్మాయేలు కొడుకులు వీరే. వారి వారి గ్రామాల ప్రకారమూ, కోటల ప్రకారమూ వంశావళుల ప్రకారమూ వాళ్ళ పేర్లు ఇవి. వీళ్ళు తమ తమ వంశాల ప్రకారం పన్నెండు మంది రాజులు.

17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael: a hundred and thirty-seven years; and he expired and died, and was gathered to his peoples.

౧౭ఇష్మాయేలు నూట ముప్ఫై ఏడు సంవత్సరాలు జీవించాడు. ఆ తరువాత అతడు ప్రాణం విడిచాడు. తన పితరులను చేరుకున్నాడు.

18 And they dwelt from Havilah to Shur, which is opposite to Egypt, as one goes towards Assyria. He settled before the face of all his brethren.

౧౮వీళ్ళు అష్షూరుకు వెళ్ళే దారిలో హవీలా నుండి ఐగుప్తుకు సమీపంగా ఉన్న షూరు వరకూ నివసిస్తుండే వాళ్ళు. వీళ్ళు ఒకరి పట్ల మరొకరు విరోధంగా జీవించేవారు.

19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham begot Isaac.

౧౯అబ్రాహాము కొడుకు ఇస్సాకును గూర్చిన సంగతులు ఇవి. అబ్రాహాము ఇస్సాకుకు తండ్రి.

20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebecca as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.

౨౦ఇస్సాకు పద్దనరాములో నివసించే సిరియా వాడైన బెతూయేలు కూతురూ సిరియావాడైన లాబాను సోదరీ అయిన రిబ్కాను పెళ్ళి చేసుకున్నాడు. అప్పటికి అతని వయస్సు నలభై సంవత్సరాలు.

21 And Isaac entreated Jehovah for his wife, because she was barren; and Jehovah was entreated of him, and Rebecca his wife conceived.

౨౧ఇస్సాకు భార్యకి పిల్లలు కలుగలేదు. అందుకని ఇస్సాకు ఆమె విషయం యెహోవాను వేడుకున్నాడు. యెహోవా అతని ప్రార్థన విన్నాడు. ఆ ప్రార్థనకు జవాబిచ్చాడు. ఫలితంగా అతని భార్య రిబ్కా గర్భవతి అయింది.

22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If [it be] so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of Jehovah.

౨౨ఆమె గర్భంలో ఇద్దరు పసికందులు ఉన్నారు. వాళ్ళిద్దరూ గర్భంలోనే పోరాడుకుంటున్నారు. కాబట్టి ఆమె “నాకెందుకిలా జరుగుతోంది. ఇలా అయితే నేను బతకడం ఎందుకు?” అనుకుని ఈ విషయమై యెహోవాను ప్రశ్నించింది.

23 And Jehovah said to her, Two nations are in thy womb, And two peoples shall be separated from thy bowels; And one people shall be stronger than the other people, And the elder shall serve the younger.

౨౩అప్పుడు యెహోవా ఆమెతో ఇలా చెప్పాడు. “రెండు జాతులు నీ గర్భంలో ఉన్నాయి. రెండు గోత్రాలు నీ గర్భంలో నుండే వేరుగా వస్తాయి. ఒక జాతి కంటే ఒక జాతి బలంగా ఉంటుంది. పెద్దవాడు చిన్నవాడికి దాసుడవుతాడు.”

24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

౨౪ఆమెకు నెలలు నిండి ప్రసవించే సమయం వచ్చినప్పుడు ఆమె గర్భంలో కవలలు ఉన్నారు.

25 And the first came out red — all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.

౨౫మొదటివాడు ఎర్రగా పుట్టాడు. ఎర్రటి వస్త్రంలా ఒళ్ళంతా జుట్టు ఉంది. కాబట్టి అతనికి ఏశావు అనే పేరు పెట్టారు.

26 And after that came his brother out; and his hand took hold of Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob. And Isaac was sixty years old when they were born.

౨౬తరువాత అతని తమ్ముడు బయటకు వచ్చాడు. ఇతడు ఏశావు మడిమను చేత్తో పట్టుకుని వచ్చాడు. అతనికి యాకోబు అనే పేరు పెట్టారు. వాళ్ళిద్దరూ పుట్టినప్పుడు ఇస్సాకుకు అరవై ఏళ్ళు.

27 And the boys grew, and Esau became a man skilled in hunting, a man of the field; and Jacob was a homely man, dwelling in tents.

౨౭ఆ పిల్లలిద్దరూ పెద్దవాళ్ళయ్యారు. వారిలో ఏశావు జంతువులను వేటాడడంలో నైపుణ్యం సాధించాడు. అరణ్యవాసిగా తిరిగేవాడు. కానీ యాకోబు నెమ్మదస్తుడు. గుడారంలోనే ఉండేవాడు.

28 And Isaac loved Esau, because venison was to his taste; and Rebecca loved Jacob.

౨౮ఇస్సాకు ఏశావును ప్రేమించాడు. ఎందుకంటే ఏశావు వేటాడి తెచ్చిన జంతు మాంసాన్ని అతడు ఇష్టపడి తింటూ ఉండేవాడు. రిబ్కాకు అయితే యాకోబు అంటే ఇష్టం.

29 And Jacob had cooked a dish; and Esau came from the field, and he was faint.

౨౯యాకోబు కూరలతో వంట చేస్తూ ఉన్న సమయంలో ఏశావు చాలా అలసిపోయి పొలం నుండి ఇంటికి వచ్చాడు.

30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with the red — the red thing there, for I am faint. Therefore was his name called Edom.

౩౦ఏశావు యాకోబును “దయచేసి ఎర్రగా ఉన్న ఆ వంటకాన్ని నాకు తినడానికివ్వు. నేను చాలా అలసి పోయాను” అని అడిగాడు. అందుకే అతనికి ఏదోము అనే పేరు వచ్చింది.

31 And Jacob said, Sell me now thy birthright.

౩౧అందుకు యాకోబు “ముందు పెద్దవాడుగా నీ జన్మ హక్కుని నాకు ఇచ్చెయ్యి” అన్నాడు.

32 And Esau said, Behold, I am going to die, and of what use can the birthright be to me?

౩౨అప్పుడు ఏశావు “చూడు, నేను ఆకలితో చావబోతున్నాను. ఈ జన్మహక్కు నాకెందుకు?” అన్నాడు.

33 And Jacob said, Swear unto me now. And he swore unto him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.

౩౩యాకోబు “ముందు ప్రమాణం చెయ్యి” అన్నాడు. ఏశావు యాకోబుతో ప్రమాణం చేసి తన జన్మ హక్కుని అతనికి ఆ విధంగా అమ్మి వేశాడు.

34 And Jacob gave Esau bread and the dish of lentils; and he ate and drank, and rose up and went away. Thus Esau despised the birthright.

౩౪యాకోబు తన దగ్గర ఉన్న రొట్టె, చిక్కుడు కాయల కూర ఏశావుకు ఇచ్చాడు. ఏశావు రొట్టే, కూరా తిని, తాగి అక్కడ నుండి తన దారిన వెళ్లి పోయాడు. ఆ విధంగా ఏశావు తన జ్యేష్ఠత్వపు జన్మ హక్కుని తిరస్కారంగా ఎంచాడు.
