Ezra 6
1 Then king Darius gave orders, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.
Vua Đa-ri-út ra lệnh lục tìm nơi tàng trữ văn kiện trong văn khố tại Ba-by-lôn.
2 And there was found at Achmetha in the fortress that is in the province of Media a roll, and therein was a record thus written:
Người ta tìm được trong cung Éc-ba-tan thuộc tỉnh Mê-đi một văn kiện ghi chép như sau: “Sắc lệnh:
3 In the first year of king Cyrus, king Cyrus made a decree [concerning] the house of God at Jerusalem: Let the house be built for a place where they offer sacrifices, and let its foundations be solidly laid; its height sixty cubits, its breadth sixty cubits,
Năm thứ nhất triều Vua Si-ru, ban sắc lệnh bảo xây lại Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, nơi người ta dâng các lễ vật cho Ngài. Nền của Đền phải xây cho vững chắc. Chiều cao Đền sẽ là 27,6 mét, và chiều dài 27,6 mét.
4 [with] three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber; and let the expenses be given out of the king's house:
Có ba dãy đá tảng và một dãy xà gỗ mới. Phí tổn xây cất do công khố đài thọ.
5 and also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that is at Jerusalem and brought to Babylon, be restored and brought again to the temple that is at Jerusalem, in their place; and thou shalt put [them] in the house of God.
Còn các dụng cụ bằng vàng và bạc trong Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem bị Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa tịch thu đem về Ba-by-lôn phải được trả lại để đem về Giê-ru-sa-lem đặt vào Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời như cũ.”
6 Therefore Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shethar-boznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, who are beyond the river, be ye far from thence:
Căn cứ vào văn kiện này, Vua Đa-ri-út ra lệnh: “Vì thế, Tác-tê-nai, là tổng trấn lãnh thổ phía tây Sông Ơ-phơ-rát, Sê-ta Bô-xê-nai, và chính quyền tại đó:
7 let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in its place.
Phải để yên cho người Giu-đa xây lại Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời tại chỗ cũ.
8 Moreover, I give orders what ye shall do to these elders of the Jews, for the building of this house of God: that of the king's goods, of the tribute beyond the river, expenses be diligently given to these men, that they be not hindered.
Ngoài ra, phải lấy thuế bên kia Sông Ơ-phơ-rát trả tất cả chi phí xây cất Đền Thờ cho người Giu-đa, không được chậm trễ.
9 And that which they have need of, both young bullocks and rams and lambs, for the burnt-offerings to the God of the heavens, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests that are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail;
Hằng ngày, phải cung cấp cho các thầy tế lễ tại Giê-ru-sa-lem những sinh tế cần thiết để họ dâng lên Đức Chúa Trời: bò tơ đực, chiên đực, chiên con, lúa mì, muối, rượu, và dầu ô-liu.
10 that they may present sweet odours to the God of the heavens, and pray for the life of the king and of his sons.
Như thế, họ có thể dâng những lễ vật đẹp ý Đức Chúa Trời và cầu nguyện cho ta và các hoàng tử.
11 Also I have given order that whosoever shall alter this rescript, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon, and let his house be made a dunghill for this.
Nếu ai thay đổi lệnh này, phải rút một cây đòn tay từ nhà nó ra, trồng xuống đất, rồi treo nó lên. Nhà nó sẽ thành một đống rác dơ bẩn.
12 And the God that has caused his name to dwell there overthrow every king and people that shall put forth their hand to alter [or] to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have given [this] order; let it be done diligently.
Xin Đức Chúa Trời, Đấng ngự trong Đền Thờ ấy, hủy diệt bất kỳ vua hoặc dân nào dám cãi lệnh này, hoặc dám phá hoại Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Ta, Đa-ri-út ban hành sắc lệnh này. Tất cả phải chấp hành nghiêm chỉnh.”
13 Then Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shethar-boznai, and their companions, because of that which king Darius had sent, did so diligently.
Tổng trấn Tác-tê-nai, Sê-ta Bô-xê-nai, và các viên chức khác triệt để thi hành mệnh lệnh của Vua Đa-ri-út.
14 And the elders of the Jews built; and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they built and completed [it] according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.
Vì thế, các trưởng lão Giu-đa tiếp tục xây cất đền thờ tốt đẹp, đúng như lời các Tiên tri A-gai và Xa-cha-ri, con Y-đô. Họ thực hiện công tác theo mệnh lệnh của Đức Chúa Trời Ít-ra-ên và sắc lệnh của các vua Ba Tư là Si-ru, Đa-ri-út, và Ạt-ta-xét-xe.
15 And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of king Darius.
Ngày mùng ba tháng A-đa, vào năm thứ sáu triều Đa-ri-út, công cuộc xây cất hoàn tất.
16 And the children of Israel, the priests and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy;
Người Ít-ra-ên gồm các thầy tế lễ, người Lê-vi và tất cả những người lưu đày hồi hương hân hoan dự lễ khánh thành Đền Thờ của Đức Chúa Trời.
17 and they presented at the dedication of this house of God a hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs, and for a sin-offering for all Israel, twelve he-goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.
Trong lễ này, họ dâng 100 con bò đực, 200 chiên đực, 400 chiên con, và 12 dê đực làm tế lễ chuộc tội cho mười hai đại tộc Ít-ra-ên.
18 And they set the priests in their classes, and the Levites in their divisions, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem: as it is written in the book of Moses.
Các thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi được chia thành từng ban để phụng sự Đức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, như đã được quy định trong Sách của Môi-se.
19 And the children of the captivity held the passover upon the fourteenth of the first month.
Những người lưu đày hồi hương cũng dự lễ Vượt Qua vào ngày mười bốn tháng giêng.
20 For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves as one [man]: they were all pure; and they killed the passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.
Các thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi cùng nhau dọn mình thanh sạch, rồi giết chiên con lễ Vượt Qua cho mọi người lưu đày về, cho anh em thầy tế lễ và cho chính họ.
21 And the children of Israel that were come back out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves to them from the filthiness of the nations of the land, to seek Jehovah the God of Israel, did eat;
Người Ít-ra-ên ăn lễ Vượt Qua này cùng với những người ngoại quốc đã bỏ lối thờ cúng cũ để theo người Ít-ra-ên thờ Đức Chúa Trời.
22 and they kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy; for Jehovah had made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.
Họ hân hoan giữ lễ Bánh Không Men trong bảy ngày. Họ vui mừng vì Chúa Hằng Hữu khiến cho vua A-sy-ri giúp đỡ họ xây cất Đền Thờ của Đức Chúa Trời, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên.
