Ezekiel 20

1 And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth [month], the tenth of the month, [that] certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of Jehovah, and they sat before me.

Y aconteció en el año séptimo, en el mes quinto, a los diez del mes, que vinieron algunos de los ancianos de Israel a consultar a Jehová, y asentáronse delante de mí.

2 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

Y fue palabra de Jehová a mí, diciendo:

3 Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Are ye come to inquire of me? [As] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you.

Hijo del hombre, habla a los ancianos de Israel, y díles: Así dijo el Señor Jehová: ¿A consultarme venís vosotros? Vivo yo, que yo no os responderé, dijo el Señor Jehová.

4 Wilt thou judge them, wilt thou judge, son of man? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers,

¿Quiéreslos juzgar tú, quiéreslos juzgar, hijo del hombre? notifícales las abominaciones de sus padres:

5 and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up my hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up my hand unto them, saying, I [am] Jehovah your God,

Y díles: Así dijo el Señor Jehová; El día que escogí a Israel, y que alcé mi mano por la simiente de la casa de Jacob, y que fue conocido de ellos en la tierra de Egipto, que alcé mi mano a ellos, diciendo: Yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios:

6 in that day I lifted up my hand unto them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had espied for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the ornament of all lands;

Aquel día que les alcé mi mano, que los sacaría de la tierra de Egipto, a la tierra que les había proveido, que corre leche y miel, que es la más hermosa de todas las tierras:

7 and I said unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I [am] Jehovah your God.

Entonces les dije: Cada uno eche de sí las abominaciones de sus ojos, y no os contaminéis en los ídolos de Egipto, yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios.

8 But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: none of them cast away the abominations of his eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I thought to pour out my fury upon them, so as to accomplish mine anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

Y ellos se rebelaron contra mí, y no quisieron obedecerme: no echó de sí cada uno las abominaciones de sus ojos, ni dejaron los ídolos de Egipto; y dije que derramaría mi ira sobre ellos para cumplir mi enojo en ellos en medio de la tierra de Egipto.

9 But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they were, in whose sight I had made myself known unto them in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

Mas hice a causa de mi nombre, porque no se infamase en los ojos de las gentes, en medio de las cuales estaban, en cuyos ojos fue conocido de ellos, para sacarlos de tierra de Egipto.

10 And I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.

Y saquélos de la tierra de Egipto, y trájelos al desierto;

11 And I gave them my statutes, and made known unto them mine ordinances, which if a man do, he shall live by them.

Y díles mis ordenanzas, y declaréles mis derechos, los cuales el hombre que los hiciere, vivirá por ellos.

12 And I also gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I [am] Jehovah that hallow them.

Y díles también mis sábados que fuesen por señal entre mí y ellos, porque supiesen que yo soy Jehová que los santifico.

13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they rejected mine ordinances, which if a man do, he shall live by them; and my sabbaths they greatly profaned: and I said I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.

Y rebelaron contra mí la casa de Israel en el desierto, no anduvieron en mis ordenanzas, y desecharon mis derechos, los cuales el hombre que los hiciere, vivirá por ellos; y mis sábados profanaron en gran manera; y dije que había de derramar sobre ellos mi ira en el desierto, para consumirlos.

14 But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.

Mas hice a causa de mi nombre, porque no se infamase delante de los ojos de las gentes, delante de cuyos ojos los saqué.

15 And I also lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land that I had given [them], flowing with milk and honey, which is the ornament of all lands;

Y también yo les alcé mi mano en el desierto, que no los metería en la tierra que les dí, que corre leche y miel, que es la más hermosa de todas las tierras:

16 because they rejected mine ordinances and walked not in my statutes, and profaned my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

Porque desecharon mis derechos, y no anduvieron en mis ordenanzas, y mis sábados profanaron; porque tras sus ídolos iba su corazón.

17 But mine eye spared them so as not to destroy them, neither did I make a full end of them in the wilderness.

Y perdonólos mi ojo, no los matando, ni los consumí en el desierto.

18 And I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk not in the statutes of your fathers, neither keep their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

Mas dije en el desierto a sus hijos: No andéis en las ordenanzas de vuestros padres, ni guardéis sus leyes, ni os contaminéis en sus ídolos.

19 I [am] Jehovah your God: walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them;

Yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios: andád en mis ordenanzas, y guardád mis derechos, y hacédlos;

20 and hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I [am] Jehovah your God.

Y santificád mis sábados, y sean por señal entre mí y vosotros; para que sepáis que yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios.

21 And the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept mine ordinances to do them, which if a man do, he shall live by them; they profaned my sabbaths: and I said I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish mine anger against them in the wilderness.

Y los hijos se rebelaron contra mí: no anduvieron en mis ordenanzas, ni guardaron mis derechos para hacerlos, los cuales el hombre que los hiciere, vivirá por ellos: profanaron mis sábados. Y dije, que derramaría mi ira sobre ellos, para cumplir mi enojo en ellos en el desierto.

22 But I withdrew my hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.

Mas retraje mi mano, e hice por causa de mi nombre, porque no se infamase en los ojos de las gentes, delante de cuyos ojos los saqué.

23 I lifted up my hand also unto them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries;

Y también, yo les alcé mi mano en el desierto, que los esparciría entre las gentes, y que los aventaría por las tierras:

24 because they performed not mine ordinances, and rejected my statutes, and profaned my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

Porque no hicieron mis derechos, y desecharon mis ordenanzas, y profanaron mis sábados, y tras los ídolos de sus padres se les fueron sus ojos.

25 And I also gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances whereby they should not live;

Y también yo les di ordenanzas no buenas, y derechos por los cuales no vivirán.

26 and I defiled them by their own gifts, in that they devoted all that opened the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I [am] Jehovah.

Y contaminélos en sus ofrendas, haciendo pasar todo primogénito, para hacerle asolar, porque supiesen que yo soy Jehová.

27 Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In this moreover have your fathers blasphemed me, in that they have wrought unfaithfulness against me.

Por tanto, hijo del hombre, habla a la casa de Israel, y díles: Así dijo el Señor Jehová: Aun en esto me afrentaron vuestros padres cuando rebelaron contra mí rebelión:

28 When I had brought them into the land which I had lifted up my hand to give unto them, then they saw every high hill and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering; and there they placed their sweet savour, and there poured out their drink-offerings.

Porque yo los metí en la tierra, sobre la cual yo había alzado mi mano que les había de dar; y miraron a todo collado alto, y a todo árbol espeso; y allí sacrificaron sus sacrificios, y allí dieron la ira de sus ofrendas, y allí pusieron el olor de su suavidad, y allí derramaron sus derramaduras.

29 And I said unto them, What is the high place whither ye go? And the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day.

Y yo les dije: ¿Qué es este alto, que vosotros venís allí? Y fue llamado su nombre Bama, hasta el día de hoy.

30 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Do ye defile yourselves after the manner of your fathers? and do ye commit fornication after their abominations?

Por tanto di a la casa de Israel: Así dijo el Señor Jehová: ¿No os contamináis vosotros a la manera de vuestros padres, y fornicáis tras sus abominaciones?

31 And when ye offer your gifts, making your sons to pass through the fire, ye defile yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day; and shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? [As] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you.

Porque ofreciendo vuestras ofrendas, haciendo pasar vuestros hijos por el fuego, os habéis contaminado con todos vuestros ídolos hasta hoy: ¿y responderos he yo, casa de Israel? Vivo yo, dijo el Señor Jehová, que no os responderé.

32 And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, in serving wood and stone.

Y lo que pensasteis, no será; porque decís: Seamos como las gentes, como las familias de las naciones, sirviendo a la madera, y a la piedra.

33 [As] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, verily with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, will I reign over you.

Vivo yo, dijo el Señor Jehová, que con mano fuerte, y brazo extendido, y enojo derramado tengo de reinar sobre vosotros.

34 And I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out;

Y os sacaré de entre los pueblos, y os juntaré de las tierras en que estáis esparcidos, con mano fuerte, y brazo extendido, y enojo derramado.

35 and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I enter into judgment with you face to face.

Y traeros he al desierto de pueblos, y allí litigaré con vosotros cara a cara.

36 Like as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I enter into judgment with you, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Como litigué con vuestros padres en el desierto de la tierra de Egipto, así litigaré con vosotros, dijo el Señor Jehová.

37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant.

Y haceros he pasar debajo de vara, y traeros he en vínculo de concierto.

38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me; I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

Y apartaré de entre vosotros los rebeldes, y los que se rebelaron contra mí: de la tierra de sus destierros los sacaré, y a la tierra de Israel no vendrán; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.

39 As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Go ye, serve every one his idols henceforth also, if none of you will hearken unto me; but profane my holy name no more with your gifts and with your idols.

Y vosotros, o! casa de Israel, así dijo el Señor Jehová: Andád cada uno tras sus ídolos, y servídles, pues que a mí no me obedecéis; y no profanéis más mi santo nombre con vuestras ofrendas, y con vuestros ídolos.

40 For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah, there shall all the house of Israel serve me, the whole of it, in the land; there will I accept them, and there will I require your heave-offerings and the first-fruits of your offerings, with all your holy things.

Porque en el monte de mi santidad, en el alto monte de Israel, dijo el Señor Jehová, allí me servirá a mí toda la casa de Israel, toda ella, en la tierra: allí los querré, y allí demandaré vuestras ofrendas, y las primicias de vuestros dones, con todas vuestras santificaciones.

41 As a sweet savour will I accept you, when I bring you out from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be hallowed in you in the sight of the nations.

Con olor de suavidad os querré, cuando os hubiere sacado de entre los pueblos, y os hubiere juntado de las tierras en que estáis esparcidos; y seré santificado en vosotros en los ojos de las gentes.

42 And ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah, when I have brought you into the land of Israel, into the country which I lifted up my hand to give to your fathers.

Y sabréis que yo soy Jehová, cuando os hubiere metido en la tierra de Israel, en la tierra por la cual alcé mi mano, que la daría a vuestros padres.

43 And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils which ye have committed.

Y allí os acordaréis de vuestros caminos, y de todos vuestros hechos en que os contaminasteis; y seréis confusos en vuestra misma presencia, por todos vuestros males que hicisteis.

44 And ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah, when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O house of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Y sabréis que yo soy Jehová, cuando hiciere con vosotros por causa de mi nombre, no según vuestros caminos malos, ni según vuestras obras corruptas, o! casa de Israel, dijo el Señor Jehová.

45 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

Y fue palabra de Jehová a mí, diciendo:

46 Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop [words] against the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field;

Hijo del hombre, pon tu rostro hacia el mediodía, y gotéa al mediodía, y profetiza contra el bosque de la campiña del mediodía.

47 and say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flashing flame shall not be quenched; and all that it meets from the south to the north shall be burned thereby.

Y dirás al bosque del mediodía: Oye palabra de Jehová: Así dijo el Señor Jehová: He aquí que yo enciendo en ti fuego, el cual consumirá en ti todo árbol verde, y todo árbol seco: no se apagará la llama del fuego, y serán quemados en ella todos rostros, desde el mediodía hasta el aquilón.

48 And all flesh shall see that I Jehovah have kindled it: it shall not be quenched.

Y verá toda carne que yo Jehová lo encendí: no se apagará.

49 And I said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?

Y dije: ¡Ah, Señor Jehová! ellos me dicen: ¿No refranéa este refranes?
