Ezekiel 15

1 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

૧ત્યારે યહોવાહનું વચન મારી પાસે આવ્યું અને કહ્યું,

2 Son of man, what is the wood of the vine more than any wood, the vine-branch, which is among the trees of the forest?

૨“હે મનુષ્યપુત્ર, દ્રાક્ષાવૃક્ષ એટલે જંગલના વૃક્ષોમાં દ્રાક્ષવેલાઓ બીજા કોઈ વૃક્ષની ડાળી કરતાં શું અધિક છે?

3 Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will [men] take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?

૩શું લોકો કશું બનાવવા દ્રાક્ષવેલામાંથી લાકડી લે? શું માણસ તેના પર કંઈ ભરવવાને માટે ખીલી બનાવે?

4 Behold, it is given to the fire for fuel: the fire consumeth both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned; is it fit for [any] work?

૪જો, તેને બળતણ તરીકે અગ્નિમાં નાખવામાં આવે છે ત્યારે જો અગ્નિથી તેના બન્ને છેડા અને તેનો વચ્ચેનો ભાગ પણ સળગવા લાગે છે. શું તે કામને માટે સારું છે?

5 Behold, when it was whole, it was used for no work; how much less when the fire hath consumed it, and it is burned, should it yet be used for any work?

૫જ્યારે તે આખું હતું, ત્યારે તે કોઈ પણ વસ્તુ બનાવવાને લાયક નહોતું; હવે અગ્નિએ તેને બાળીને ભસ્મ કર્યું છે, ત્યારે તેમાંથી શું ઉપયોગી ચીજ બની શકે?”

6 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: As the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

૬તેથી પ્રભુ યહોવાહ કહે છે; જેમ જંગલની દ્રાક્ષાની ડાળીને મેં બળતણ તરીકે અગ્નિને આપી છે; તે પ્રમાણે હું યરુશાલેમના રહેવાસીઓ સાથે કરીશ.

7 And I will set my face against them: they shall go forth from [one] fire, and [another] fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah when I set my face against them.

૭હું મારું મુખ તેઓની વિરુદ્ધ કરીશ. જોકે તેઓ અગ્નિમાંથી બહાર નીકળી જશે તોપણ અગ્નિ તેઓને બાળી નાખશે. જ્યારે હું મારું મુખ તેઓની વિરુદ્ધ કરીશ, ત્યારે તેઓ જાણશે કે હું યહોવાહ છું.

8 And I will make the land a desolation, because they have wrought unfaithfulness, saith the Lord Jehovah.

૮તેઓએ પાપ કર્યું છે માટે હું દેશને ઉજ્જડ કરીશ.” એમ પ્રભુ યહોવાહ કહે છે!
