Exodus 4
1 And Moses answered and said, But behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice; for they will say, Jehovah has not appeared to thee.
൧അതിന് മോശെ: “അവർ എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കാതെയും എന്റെ വാക്ക് കേൾക്കാതെയും: ‘യഹോവ നിനക്ക് പ്രത്യക്ഷനായിട്ടില്ല’ എന്ന് പറയും” എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
2 And Jehovah said to him, What is that in thy hand? And he said, A staff.
൨യഹോവ അവനോട്: “നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നത് എന്ത്?” എന്ന് ചോദിച്ചു. “ഒരു വടി” എന്ന് അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.
൩“അത് നിലത്തിടുക” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു. അവൻ നിലത്തിട്ടു; അത് ഒരു സർപ്പമായിത്തീർന്നു; മോശെ അതിനെ കണ്ട് ഓടിപ്പോയി.
4 And Jehovah said to Moses, Stretch out thy hand and take it by the tail — and he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand —
൪യഹോവ മോശെയോട്: “നിന്റെ കൈ നീട്ടി അതിന്റെ വാലിൽ പിടിക്കുക” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു. അവൻ കൈ നീട്ടി അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു; അത് അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ വടിയായിത്തീർന്നു.
5 that they may believe that Jehovah, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.
൫“ഇത് അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവവും യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവവും ആയി അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്ക് പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി എന്ന് അവർ വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ആകുന്നു”.
6 And Jehovah said moreover to him, Put now thy hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom, and took it out, and behold, his hand was leprous, as snow.
൬യഹോവ പിന്നെയും അവനോട്: “നിന്റെ കൈ മാറിടത്തിൽ ഇടുക” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു. അവൻ കൈ മാറിടത്തിൽ ഇട്ടു; പുറത്ത് എടുത്തപ്പോൾ കൈ മഞ്ഞുപോലെ വെളുത്ത് കുഷ്ഠമുള്ളതായി കണ്ടു.
7 And he said, Put thy hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again, and took it out of his bosom, and behold, it was turned again as his flesh.
൭“നിന്റെ കൈ വീണ്ടും മാറിടത്തിൽ ഇടുക” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു. അവൻ കൈ വീണ്ടും മാറിടത്തിൽ ഇട്ടു, മാറിടത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്തെടുത്തപ്പോൾ, അത് വീണ്ടും അവന്റെ ശരീരത്തിന്റെ മാംസംപോലെ ആയി കണ്ടു.
8 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the other sign.
൮എന്നാൽ അവർ വിശ്വസിക്കാതെയും ആദ്യത്തെ അടയാളം സമ്മതിക്കാതെയും ഇരുന്നാൽ അവർ പിന്നത്തെ അടയാളം വിശ്വസിക്കും.
9 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also those two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour [it] on the dry [land]; and the water that thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry [land].
൯ഈ രണ്ടടയാളങ്ങളും അവർ വിശ്വസിക്കാതെയും നിന്റെ വാക്ക് കേൾക്കാതെയും ഇരുന്നാൽ നീ നദിയിലെ വെള്ളംകോരി ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലത്ത് ഒഴിക്കണം; നദിയിൽ നിന്ന് കോരിയ വെള്ളം ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലത്ത് രക്തമായിത്തീരും.
10 And Moses said to Jehovah, Ah Lord! I am not eloquent, neither heretofore nor since thou hast spoken to thy servant, for I am slow of speech and of a slow tongue.
൧൦മോശെ യഹോവയോട്: “കർത്താവേ, നീ അടിയനോട് സംസാരിച്ചതിന് മുമ്പും അതിനുശേഷവും ഞാൻ വാക്സാമർത്ഥ്യമുള്ളവനല്ല; ഞാൻ വിക്കനും തടിച്ച നാവുള്ളവനും ആകുന്നു” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
11 And Jehovah said to him, Who gave man a mouth? or who maketh dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? [have] not I, Jehovah?
൧൧അതിന് യഹോവ അവനോട്: “മനുഷ്യന് വായ് കൊടുത്തത് ആർ? അല്ല, ഊമനെയും ചെകിടനെയും കാഴ്ചയുള്ളവനെയും കുരുടനെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയത് ആർ? യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ അല്ലയോ? ആകയാൽ നീ ചെല്ലുക;
12 And now go, and I will be with thy mouth, and will teach thee what thou shalt say.
൧൨ഞാൻ നിന്റെ വായോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്ന് നീ സംസാരിക്കേണ്ടത് നിനക്ക് ഉപദേശിച്ചു തരും” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
13 And he said, Ah Lord! send, I pray thee, by the hand [of him whom] thou wilt send.
൧൩എന്നാൽ മോശെ: “കർത്താവേ, നിനക്ക് പ്രിയമുള്ള മറ്റാരെയെങ്കിലും അയയ്ക്കണമേ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
14 Then the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also behold, he goeth out to meet thee; and when he seeth thee he will be glad in his heart.
൧൪അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ മോശെയുടെ നേരെ കോപിച്ച് പറഞ്ഞത്: “ലേവ്യനായ അഹരോൻ നിന്റെ സഹോദരനല്ലയോ? അവൻ നല്ലവണ്ണം സംസാരിക്കുമെന്ന് ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു. അവൻ നിന്നെ എതിരേല്ക്കുവാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു; നിന്നെ കാണുമ്പോൾ അവൻ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ആനന്ദിക്കും.
15 And thou shalt speak unto him, and put the words in his mouth; and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.
൧൫നീ അവനോട് സംസാരിച്ച് അവന് വാക്ക് പറഞ്ഞുകൊടുക്കണം. ഞാൻ നിന്റെ വായോടും അവന്റെ വായോടുംകൂടി ഇരിക്കും; നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യേണ്ടത് ഉപദേശിച്ചു തരും.
16 And he shall speak for thee unto the people; and it shall come to pass that he shall be to thee for a mouth, and thou shalt be to him for God.
൧൬നിനക്ക് പകരം അവൻ ജനത്തോട് സംസാരിക്കും; അവൻ നിനക്ക് വായായിരിക്കും, നീ അവന് ദൈവവും ആയിരിക്കും.
17 And thou shalt take this staff in thy hand, with which thou shalt do the signs.
൧൭അടയാളങ്ങൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഈ വടിയും നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ എടുത്തുകൊൾള്ളുക.
18 And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return to my brethren who are in Egypt, that I may see whether they are yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.
൧൮പിന്നെ മോശെ തന്റെ അമ്മായപ്പനായ യിത്രോവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന് അവനോട്: “ഞാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ട്, ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന്, അവർ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുന്നുവോ” എന്ന് നോക്കട്ടെ എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. യിത്രോ മോശെയോട്: “സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോകുക” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
19 And Jehovah said to Moses in Midian, Go, return to Egypt; for all the men are dead who sought thy life.
൧൯യഹോവ മിദ്യാനിൽവച്ച് മോശെയോട്: “ഈജിപ്റ്റിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുക; നിന്നെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ നോക്കിയവർ എല്ലാവരും മരിച്ചുപോയി” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them riding upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt. And Moses took the staff of God in his hand.
൨൦അങ്ങനെ മോശെ തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെയും പുത്രന്മാരെയും കൂട്ടി കഴുതപ്പുറത്ത് കയറ്റി ഈജിപ്റ്റിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങി; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വടിയും മോശെ കയ്യിൽ എടുത്തു.
21 And Jehovah said to Moses, When thou goest to return to Egypt, see that thou do all the wonders before Pharaoh that I have put in thy hand. And I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.
൨൧യഹോവ മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്: “നീ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ എത്തുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഭരമേല്‍പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള അത്ഭുതങ്ങളൊക്കെയും ഫറവോന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ചെയ്യുവാൻ ഓർത്തുകൊള്ളുക; എന്നാൽ അവൻ ജനത്തെ വിട്ടയയ്ക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം കഠിനമാക്കും.
22 And thou shalt say to Pharaoh, Thus saith Jehovah: Israel is my son, my firstborn.
൨൨നീ ഫറവോനോട്: “യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: യിസ്രായേൽ എന്റെ പുത്രൻ, എന്റെ ആദ്യജാതൻ തന്നെ.
23 And I say to thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me. And if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will kill thy son, thy firstborn.
൨൩എനിക്ക് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യുവാൻ എന്റെ പുത്രനെ വിട്ടയയ്ക്കണമെന്ന് ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് കല്പിക്കുന്നു; അവനെ വിട്ടയയ്ക്കുവാൻ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ പുത്രനെ, നിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനെ തന്നെ കൊന്നുകളയും” എന്ന് പറയുക.
24 And it came to pass on the way, in the inn, that Jehovah came upon him, and sought to slay him.
൨൪എന്നാൽ വഴിയിൽ സത്രത്തിൽവച്ച് യഹോവ അവനെ എതിരിട്ട് കൊല്ലുവാൻ ഭാവിച്ചു.
25 Then Zipporah took a stone and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, A bloody husband indeed art thou to me!
൨൫അപ്പോൾ സിപ്പോറാ ഒരു കൽക്കത്തി എടുത്തു തന്റെ മകന്റെ അഗ്രചർമ്മം മുറിച്ച് അവന്റെ കാൽക്കൽ ഇട്ടു: “നീ എനിക്ക് രക്തമണവാളൻ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
26 And he let him go. Then she said, A bloody husband — because of the circumcision.
൨൬ഇങ്ങനെ യഹോവ അവനെ വിട്ടൊഴിഞ്ഞു; ആ സമയത്ത് ആകുന്നു അവൾ പരിച്ഛേദന നിമിത്തം “നീ എനിക്ക് രക്തമണവാളൻ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞത്.
27 And Jehovah said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him on the mountain of God, and kissed him.
൨൭എന്നാൽ യഹോവ അഹരോനോട്: “നീ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ മോശെയെ എതിരേല്ക്കുവാൻ ചെല്ലുക” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു; അവൻ ചെന്ന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പർവ്വതത്തിൽവച്ച് അവനെ എതിരേറ്റ് ചുംബിച്ചു.
28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of Jehovah who had sent him, and all the signs that he had commanded him.
൨൮യഹോവ തന്നെ ഏല്പിച്ച് അയച്ച വചനങ്ങളൊക്കെയും തന്നോട് കല്പിച്ച അടയാളങ്ങളൊക്കെയും മോശെ അഹരോനെ അറിയിച്ചു.
29 And Moses and Aaron went and gathered all the elders of the children of Israel;
൨൯പിന്നെ മോശെയും അഹരോനും പോയി, യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി.
30 and Aaron spoke all the words that Jehovah had spoken to Moses, and did the signs before the eyes of the people.
൩൦യഹോവ മോശെയോട് കല്പിച്ച വചനങ്ങളെല്ലാം അഹരോൻ പറഞ്ഞു കേൾപ്പിച്ചു, ജനം കാൺകെ ആ അടയാളങ്ങളും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.
31 And the people believed. And when they heard that Jehovah had visited the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.
൩൧അപ്പോൾ ജനം വിശ്വസിച്ചു; യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളെ സന്ദർശിച്ചു എന്നും തങ്ങളുടെ കഷ്ടത കണ്ടു എന്നും കേട്ടിട്ട് അവർ കുമ്പിട്ട് നമസ്കരിച്ചു.
