< Exodus 39 >

1 And of the blue and purple and scarlet they made garments of service, for service in the sanctuary, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
They made woven clothing from blue, purple, and crimson thread for serving in the sanctuary. They also made holy clothing garments for Aaron, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
2 And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined byssus.
They made the ephod of finely-woven linen embroidered with gold, and with blue, purple, and crimson thread.
3 And they beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it [into] wires, to work it artistically into the blue, and into the purple, and into the scarlet, and into the byssus.
They hammered out thin sheets of gold and cut threads from them to weave in with the blue, purple, and scarlet thread, together with fine linen, all skillfully worked.
4 They made shoulder-pieces for it, joining it: at its two ends was it joined together.
Two shoulder pieces were attached to the front and back pieces.
5 And the girdle of his ephod, which was on it, was of the same, according to its work, of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined byssus; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
The waistband of the ephod was one piece made in the same way, using gold thread, with blue, purple, and crimson thread, and with finely-woven linen, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
6 And they wrought the onyx stones mounted in enclosures of gold, engraved with the engravings of a seal, according to the names of the sons of Israel.
They placed the onyx stones in ornamental gold settings, engraved with the names of the Israelite tribes in the same way a jeweler engraves a personal seal.
7 And he put them on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, [as] stones of memorial for the children of Israel; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
They attached both stones to the shoulder pieces of the ephod as reminders for the Israelite tribes, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
8 And he made the breastplate of artistic work, like the work of the ephod, of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined byssus.
They also made a breastpiece for decisions in the same skilful way as the ephod, to be used in determining the Lord's will. They made it using gold thread, with blue, purple, and crimson thread, and with finely-woven linen.
9 It was square; double did they make the breastplate, a span the length thereof, and a span the breadth thereof, doubled.
It was square when folded, measuring around nine inches in length and width.
10 And they set in it four rows of stones: [one] row, a sardoin, a topaz, and an emerald — the first row;
They attached an arrangement of precious stones in four rows as follows. In the first row carnelian, peridot, and emerald.
11 and the second row, a carbuncle, a sapphire, and a diamond;
In the second row turquoise, lapis lazuli, and sardonyx.
12 and the third row, an opal, an agate, and an amethyst;
In the third row jacinth, agate, and amethyst.
13 and the fourth row, a chrysolite, an onyx, and a jasper; mounted in enclosures of gold in their settings.
In the fourth row topaz, beryl, and jasper. They were all placed in ornamental gold settings.
14 And the stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, engraved as a seal, every one according to his name, for the twelve tribes.
Each of the twelve stones were engraved like a personal seal with the name of one of the twelve Israelites tribes and represented them.
15 And they made on the breastplate chains of laced work of wreathen work, of pure gold.
They made cords of braided chains from pure gold to attach the breastpiece.
16 And they made two settings of gold, and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.
They made two gold settings and two gold rings and fastened the rings to the two top corners of the breastpiece.
17 And they put the two wreathen [cords] of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate;
They attached the two gold chains to the two gold rings on the corners of the breastpiece,
18 and the two ends of the two wreathen [cords] they fastened to the two settings, and put them on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, on the front thereof.
and then fastened the opposite ends of the two chains to the ornamental gold settings on the shoulder pieces of the front side of the ephod.
19 And they made two rings of gold, and put [them] on the two ends of the breastplate, on the border thereof, which faceth the ephod inwards.
They made two more gold rings and attached them to the two lower corners of the breastpiece, on the inside edge next to the ephod.
20 And they made two rings of gold, and put them upon the two shoulder-pieces of the ephod underneath, to the front thereof, just by the coupling thereof, above the girdle of the ephod.
They made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the two shoulder pieces of the front side of the ephod, near where it joins its woven waistband.
21 And they bound the breastplate with its rings to the rings of the ephod with lace of blue, that it might be above the girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
They tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue thread, so that the breastpiece wouldn't come loose from the ephod, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
22 And he made the cloak of the ephod of woven work, all of blue;
They made the robe that goes with the ephod exclusively from woven blue cloth,
23 and the opening of the cloak in its middle, as the opening of a coat of mail; a binding was round about the opening, that it should not rend.
with an opening in the middle at the top. They stitched a woven collar around the opening to strengthen it so it wouldn't tear.
24 And they made on the skirts of the cloak pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet, twined.
They made pomegranates using blue, purple, and crimson thread and finely-woven linen and attached them all the way around its hem.
25 And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates, in the skirts of the cloak, round about, between the pomegranates:
They made pure gold bells and attached them between the pomegranates all the way around its hem,
26 a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, in the skirts of the cloak round about, for service; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
having the bells and the pomegranates alternate. The robe was to be used for priestly service, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
27 And they made the vests of byssus of woven work, for Aaron, and for his sons;
They made tunics with finely-spun linen made by a weaver for Aaron and his sons.
28 and the turban of byssus; and the ornamental caps, of byssus; and the linen trousers, of twined byssus;
They also made turbans, headdresses, and headbands of fine linen, and finely-woven linen undershorts,
29 and the girdle, of twined byssus, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of embroidery; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
as well as sashes of finely-woven linen embroidered with blue, purple, and crimson thread, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
30 And they made the thin plate, the holy diadem, of pure gold, and wrote on it with the writing of the engravings of a seal, Holiness to Jehovah!
They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold and wrote on it, engraved like a seal, “Holy to the Lord.”
31 And they fastened to it a lace of blue, to fasten [it] on the turban above; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
They tied a blue cord to it to attach it to the front of the turban, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
32 And all the labour of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was ended; and the children of Israel had done [it] according to all that Jehovah had commanded Moses — so had they done [it].
So all the work for the Tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting, was finished. The Israelites did everything as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
33 And they brought the tabernacle to Moses — the tent, and all its utensils, its clasps, its boards, its bars, and its pillars, and its bases;
Then they presented the Tabernacle to Moses: the tent with all its furniture, its clips, its frames, its crossbars, and its posts and stands;
34 and the covering of rams' skins dyed red, and the covering of badgers' skins, and the veil of separation;
the covering of tanned ram skins, the covering of fine leather, and the veil;
35 the ark of the testimony, and its staves, and the mercy-seat;
the Ark of the Testimony with its poles and the atonement cover;
36 the table, all its utensils, and the shewbread;
the table with all its equipment and the Bread of the Presence;
37 the pure candlestick, its lamps, the lamps set in order, and all its utensils, and the oil for the light;
the pure gold lampstand with its lamps placed in a row, and all its equipment, as well as the olive oil for the lamps;
38 and the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the incense of fragrant drugs; and the curtain for the entrance of the tent;
the gold altar, the anointing oil, the aromatic incense, and the screen for the tent's entrance;
39 the copper altar, and the copper grating that was for it, its staves and all its utensils; the laver and its stand;
the bronze altar with its bronze grate, its poles, and all its utensils; the basin plus its stand;
40 the hangings of the court, its pillars, and its bases; and the curtain for the gate of the court, its cords, and its pegs; and all the vessel's of service of the tabernacle, for the tent of meeting;
the curtains of the courtyard and its posts and stands; the curtain for the courtyard entrance, its ropes and tent pegs, and all the equipment for the services of Tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting;
41 the garments of service, for service in the sanctuary; the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments, to serve as priests.
and the woven garments for serving in the sanctuary, the holy clothes for Aaron the priest and for his sons to serve as priests.
42 According to all that Jehovah had commanded Moses, so had the children of Israel done all the labour.
The Israelites did all the work that the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
43 And Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it as Jehovah had commanded — so had they done [it]; and Moses blessed them.
Moses inspected all the work and made sure they had done it as the Lord had ordered. Then Moses blessed them.
