Exodus 20
1 And God spoke all these words, saying,
E falou Deus todas estas palavras, dizendo:
2 I am Jehovah thy God, who have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Eu sou o SENHOR teu Deus, que te tirei da terra do Egito, de casa de servos.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Não terás deuses alheios diante de mim.
4 Thou shalt not make thyself any graven image, or any form of what is in the heavens above, or what is in the earth beneath, or what is in the waters under the earth:
Não te farás imagem, nem nenhuma semelhança de coisa que esteja acima no céu, nem abaixo na terra, nem nas águas debaixo da terra:
5 thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them; for I, Jehovah thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and to the fourth [generation] of them that hate me,
Não te inclinarás a elas, nem as honrarás; porque eu sou o SENHOR teu Deus, forte, zeloso, que visito a maldade dos pais sobre os filhos, sobre os terceiros e sobre os quartos, aos que me aborrecem,
6 and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
E que faço misericórdia em milhares aos que me amam, e guardam meus mandamentos.
7 Thou shalt not idly utter the name of Jehovah thy God; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that idly uttereth his name.
Não tomarás o nome do SENHOR teu Deus em vão; porque não dará por inocente o SENHOR ao que tomar seu nome em vão.
8 Remember the sabbath day to hallow it.
Tu te lembrarás do dia do repouso, para santificá-lo:
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work;
Seis dias trabalharás, e farás toda tua obra;
10 but the seventh day is the sabbath of Jehovah thy God: thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy bondman, nor thy handmaid, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.
Mas o sétimo dia será repouso para o SENHOR teu Deus: não faças nele obra alguma, tu, nem teu filho, nem tua filha, nem teu servo, nem tua criada, nem teu animal, nem teu estrangeiro que está dentro de tuas portas:
11 For in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore Jehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Porque em seis dias fez o SENHOR os céus e a terra, o mar e todas as coisas que neles há, e repousou no sétimo dia: portanto o SENHOR abençoou o dia do repouso e o santificou.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be prolonged in the land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee.
Honra a teu pai e a tua mãe, para que teus dias se alarguem na terra que o SENHOR teu Deus te dá.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
Não cometerás homicídio.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Não cometerás adultério.
15 Thou shalt not steal.
Não furtarás.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Não falarás contra teu próximo falso testemunho.
17 Thou shalt not desire thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not desire thy neighbour's wife, nor his bondman, nor his handmaid, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour's.
Não cobiçarás a casa de teu próximo, não cobiçarás a mulher de teu próximo, nem seu servo, nem sua criada, nem seu boi, nem seu asno, nem coisa alguma de teu próximo.
18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the flames, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw [it], they trembled, and stood afar off,
Todo o povo considerava as vozes, e as chamas, e o som da trombeta, e o monte que fumegava: e vendo-o o povo, tremeram, e puseram-se de longe.
19 and said to Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
E disseram a Moisés: Fala tu conosco, que nós ouviremos; mas não fale Deus conosco, para que não morramos.
20 And Moses said to the people, Fear not; for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before you, that ye sin not.
E Moisés respondeu ao povo: Não temais; que para provar-vos veio Deus, e para que seu temor esteja em vossa presença para que não pequeis.
21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near to the obscurity where God was.
Então o povo se pôs de longe, e Moisés se chegou à escuridão na qual estava Deus.
22 And Jehovah said to Moses, Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel: Ye have seen that I have spoken with you from the heavens.
E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Assim dirás aos filhos de Israel: Vós vistes que falei desde o céu convosco.
23 Ye shall not make beside me gods of silver, and ye shall not make to you gods of gold.
Não façais comigo deuses de prata, nem deuses de ouro vos fareis.
24 An altar of earth shalt thou make unto me, and shalt sacrifice on it thy burnt-offerings, and thy peace-offerings, thy sheep and thine oxen: in all places where I shall make my name to be remembered, I will come unto thee, and bless thee.
Da terra farás altar para mim, e sacrificarás sobre ele teus holocaustos e tuas ofertas pacíficas, tuas ovelhas e tuas vacas: em qualquer lugar onde eu fizer que esteja a memória de meu nome, virei a ti, e te abençoarei.
25 And if thou make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone; for if thou lift up thy sharp tool upon it, thou hast profaned it.
E se me fizeres altar de pedras, não as faças lavradas; porque se levantares teu buril sobre ele, tu o profanarás.
26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
E não subirás por degraus a meu altar, para que tua nudez não seja junto a ele descoberta.
