Esther 9
1 And in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day thereof, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them (but it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had power over them that hated them),
Astfel în a douăsprezecea lună, care este luna Adar, în a treisprezecea zi a ei, când porunca împăratului şi hotărârea lui urmau să se ducă la îndeplinire, în ziua când duşmanii iudeilor au sperat să aibă stăpânire asupra lor (dar s-a întâmplat dimpotrivă, că iudeii au stăpânit asupra celor care i-au urât),
2 the Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout the provinces of king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt. And no man could withstand them; for the fear of them had fallen upon all the peoples.
Iudeii s-au adunat în cetăţile lor, în toate provinciile împăratului Ahaşveroş, ca să pună mâna pe cei care căutau vătămarea lor. Şi nimeni nu le putea sta împotrivă, fiindcă teama de ei a căzut asupra tuturor.
3 And all the princes of the provinces, and the satraps, and the governors and officers of the king, helped the Jews; for the fear of Mordecai had fallen upon them.
Şi toţi conducătorii provinciilor şi locotenenţii şi prefecţii şi ofiţerii împăratului, au ajutat pe iudei, pentru că teama de Mardoheu a căzut asupra lor.
4 For Mordecai was great in the king's house, and his fame went forth throughout the provinces; for the man Mordecai became continually greater.
Fiindcă Mardoheu era mare în casa împăratului, şi faima lui s-a răspândit în toate provinciile, pentru că acest Mardoheu a devenit din ce în ce mai mare.
5 And the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword and slaughter and destruction, and did what they would to those that hated them.
Astfel iudeii au lovit pe toţi duşmanii lor cu lovitură de sabie, şi măcel şi distrugere şi au făcut ce au dorit celor ce i-au urât.
6 And in Shushan the fortress the Jews slew and destroyed five hundred men.
Şi în palatul Susa, iudeii au ucis şi au nimicit cinci sute de bărbaţi.
7 And Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha,
Şi au ucis pe Parşandata şi pe Dalfon şi pe Aspata,
8 and Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha,
Şi pe Porata şi pe Adalia şi pe Aridata,
9 and Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vajezatha,
Şi pe Parmaşta şi pe Arisai şi pe Aridai şi pe Vajezata,
10 the ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the oppressor of the Jews, they slew; but they laid not their hands on the prey.
Cei zece fii ai lui Haman, fiul lui Hamedata, duşmanul iudeilor, dar nu şi-au pus mâna pe pradă.
11 On that day the number of those that were slain in Shushan the fortress was brought before the king.
În acea zi numărul celor ucişi în palatul Susa a fost adus înaintea împăratului.
12 And the king said to Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the fortress, and the ten sons of Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king's provinces? And what is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee; and what is thy request further? and it shall be done.
Şi împăratul a spus împărătesei Estera: Iudeii au ucis şi au nimicit cinci sute de bărbaţi în palatul Susa şi pe cei zece fii ai lui Haman. Ce au făcut în celelalte provincii ale împăratului? Acum care este rugămintea ta? Spune şi îţi va fi împlinită. Şi care este cererea ta mai departe? Şi se va face.
13 And Esther said, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews that are in Shushan to do to-morrow also according to this day's decree, and let Haman's ten sons be hanged upon the gallows.
Atunci Estera a spus: Dacă face plăcere împăratului, să fie dat iudeilor care sunt în Susa să facă şi mâine conform hotărârii de astăzi şi să spânzure de spânzurătoare pe cei zece fii ai lui Haman.
14 And the king commanded it so to be done: and the decree was given at Shushan; and they hanged Haman's ten sons.
Şi împăratul a poruncit să se facă astfel. Şi hotărârea s-a dat în Susa. Şi au spânzurat pe cei zece fii ai lui Haman.
15 And the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but they laid not their hand on the prey.
Căci iudeii care erau în Susa s-au adunat şi în ziua a paisprezecea a lunii Adar şi au ucis trei sute de bărbaţi în Susa; dar nu şi-au pus mâna pe pradă.
16 And the other Jews that were in the king's provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their life, and had rest from their enemies; and they slew of them that hated them seventy-five thousand (but they laid not their hand on the prey),
Şi ceilalţi iudei care erau în provinciile împăratului s-au adunat şi şi-au apărat viaţa şi au avut odihnă din partea duşmanilor lor şi au ucis şaptezeci şi cinci de mii dintre duşmanii lor, dar nu şi-au pus mâna pe pradă,
17 on the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and joy.
În ziua a treisprezecea a lunii Adar; şi în a paisprezecea zi a ei s-au odihnit şi au făcut-o zi de ospăţ şi veselie.
18 But the Jews that were at Shushan gathered themselves together on the thirteenth [day] thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and joy.
Dar iudeii care erau în Susa s-au adunat în a treisprezecea zi a lunii şi în a paisprezecea zi a ei; şi în a cincisprezecea zi a ei s-au odihnit şi au făcut-o zi de ospăţ şi veselie.
19 Therefore the Jews of the villages that dwell in the country towns make the fourteenth of the month Adar a day of joy and feasting, and a good day, and on which they send portions one to another.
De aceea iudeii din sate, care au locuit în aşezări neîmprejmuite, au făcut din ziua a paisprezecea a lunii Adar o zi de veselie şi de ospăţ şi zi bună şi de trimitere de porţii de mâncare unii altora.
20 And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters to all the Jews near and far that were in all the provinces of king Ahasuerus,
Şi Mardoheu a scris aceste lucruri şi a trimis scrisori la toţi iudeii care erau în toate provinciile împăratului Ahaşveroş, deopotrivă celor de aproape şi de departe,
21 to establish [this] among them, that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly,
Pentru a stabili printre ei să ţină ziua a paisprezecea a lunii Adar şi ziua a cincisprezecea a ei, anual,
22 as the days on which the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month that was turned to them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day; that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.
Ca zilele în care iudeii s-au odihnit din partea duşmanilor lor şi luna în care li s-a prefăcut întristarea lor în bucurie şi jelirea lor într-o zi bună; ca să le facă zile de ospăţ şi bucurie şi de trimitere de porţii de mâncare unii altora şi de daruri celor săraci.
23 And the Jews undertook to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written to them.
Şi iudeii au acceptat să facă ceea ce au început, şi ceea ce le-a scris Mardoheu.
24 For Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the oppressor of all the Jews, had devised against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is, the lot, to consume them and to destroy them;
Pentru că Haman, fiul lui Hamedata agaghitul, duşmanul tuturor iudeilor, a plănuit împotriva iudeilor ca să îi nimicească şi a aruncat Pur, adică, sorţul, pentru a-i mistui şi pentru a-i nimici.
25 and when [Esther] came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he had devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head; and they hanged him and his sons on the gallows.
Dar când Estera a venit înaintea împăratului, el a poruncit prin scrisori ca planul lui rău, pe care l-a plănuit împotriva iudeilor, să se întoarcă asupra capului său, şi el şi fiii lui să fie spânzuraţi pe spânzurătoare;
26 Therefore they called these days Purim after the name of Pur. Therefore, according to all the words of this letter, and for what they had seen concerning this matter and what had happened to them,
De aceea au numit aceste zile Purim, după numele Pur. De aceea, datorită tuturor cuvintelor scrisorii acesteia, şi a ceea ce au văzut în acest lucru, şi pentru ceea ce li s-a întâmplat,
27 the Jews ordained and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves to them, so that it should not fail, that they would observe these two days according to their writing and according to their fixed time, every year;
Iudeii au rânduit şi au luat asupra lor, şi asupra seminţei lor, şi asupra tuturor celor ce li s-au alipit, să nu neglijeze să ţină aceste două zile conform scrierii lor şi conform timpului lor hotărât, în fiecare an;
28 and that these days should be remembered and observed throughout every generation, in every family, every province, and every city, and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them cease from among their seed.
Şi că aceste zile să fie amintite şi ţinute din generaţie în generaţie, în fiecare familie, în fiecare provincie şi în fiecare cetate. Şi că aceste zile ale Purimului să nu lipsească din mijlocul iudeilor, nici să nu se şteargă amintirea lor din sămânţa lor.
29 And queen Esther the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority to confirm this second letter of Purim.
Atunci împărăteasa Estera, fiica lui Abihail şi Mardoheu iudeul, au scris cu toată autoritatea, pentru a confirma această a doua scrisoare a Purimului.
30 And he sent letters to all the Jews, to the hundred and twenty-seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, words of peace and truth,
Iar el a trimis scrisorile tuturor iudeilor, şi celor o sută douăzeci şi şapte de provincii ale împărăţiei lui Ahaşveroş, cu aceste cuvinte de pace şi adevăr,
31 to confirm these days of Purim in their fixed times, according as Mordecai the Jew and queen Esther had enjoined them, and as they had decreed for themselves and for their seed, as to the matters of the fastings and their cry.
Pentru a confirma aceste zile ale Purimului la timpul lor hotărât, după cum le-a poruncit Mardoheu iudeul şi împărăteasa Estera, şi după cum au hotărât pentru ei şi pentru sămânţa lor, lucrurile posturilor şi a strigătului lor.
32 And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book.
Şi hotărârea Esterei a confirmat aceste lucruri despre Purim şi a fost scris în carte.
