Deuteronomy 32

1 Give ear, ye heavens, and I will speak; And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth!

ആകാശമേ, ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക, ഞാൻ സംസാരിക്കാം; ഭൂമിയേ, എന്റെ അധരത്തിലെ വചനങ്ങൾ ശ്രവിക്കുക.

2 My doctrine shall drop as rain, My speech flow down as dew, As small rain upon the tender herb, And as showers on the grass.

എന്റെ ഉപദേശം മഴപോലെ വർഷിക്കട്ടെ, എന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ മഞ്ഞുപോലെ പൊഴിയട്ടെ, ഇളം പുല്ലിന്മേൽ ചാറ്റൽമഴപോലെ, തളിർചെടികളിൽ മാരിപോലെ.

3 For the name of Jehovah will I proclaim: Ascribe greatness unto our God!

ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ നാമം ഘോഷിക്കും. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്ത്വത്തെ പുകഴ്ത്തുക!

4 [He is] the Rock, his work is perfect, For all his ways are righteousness; A God of faithfulness without deceit, Just and right is he.

അവിടന്ന് പാറയാകുന്നു, അവിടത്തെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ തികവുള്ളവയും, അവിടത്തെ എല്ലാ വഴികളും നീതിയുള്ളവയും ആകുന്നു. അവിടന്ന് തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിക്കാത്ത വിശ്വസ്തനായ ദൈവം ആകുന്നു, അവിടന്ന് സത്യസന്ധനും നീതിമാനും ആകുന്നു.

5 They have dealt corruptly with him; Not his children's is their spot: — A crooked and perverted generation!

അവിടത്തെ ജനം അവിടത്തേക്കെതിരേ വഷളത്തം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു; കാരണം അവർ അവിടത്തെ മക്കളല്ല; അവർ കാപട്യവും വഞ്ചനയും നിറഞ്ഞ നിർലജ്ജരായ തലമുറയാണ്.

6 Do ye thus requite Jehovah, Foolish and unwise people? Is not he thy father that hath bought thee? Hath he not made thee and established thee?

ബുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത ഭോഷരേ, ഇങ്ങനെയോ നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയ്ക്കു പ്രതിഫലം കൊടുക്കുന്നത്? അവിടന്നല്ലോ നിന്റെ പിതാവും നിന്റെ സ്രഷ്ടാവും; നിന്നെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചതും മെനഞ്ഞതും അവിടന്നല്ലയോ?

7 Remember the days of old, Consider the years of generation to generation; Ask thy father, and he will shew thee; Thine elders, and they will tell thee.

പൂർവകാലങ്ങളെ ഓർക്കുക; പിൻതലമുറകളുടെ സംവത്സരങ്ങളെ ചിന്തിക്കുക. നിന്റെ പിതാവിനോടു ചോദിക്കുക, അവൻ നിന്നോടു പറയും, നിന്റെ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാരോടു ചോദിക്കുക, അവർ നിന്നോടു വിശദീകരിക്കും.

8 When the Most High assigned to the nations their inheritance, When he separated the sons of Adam, He set the bounds of the peoples According to the number of the children of Israel.

പരമോന്നതൻ ജനതകൾക്ക് അവരുടെ ഓഹരി നൽകിയപ്പോൾ, അവിടന്ന് മനുഷ്യവർഗത്തെ വേർതിരിച്ചപ്പോൾ, ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ എണ്ണം അനുസരിച്ച് അവിടന്ന് ജനസമൂഹങ്ങൾക്ക് അതിർത്തി നിശ്ചയിച്ചു.

9 For Jehovah's portion is his people; Jacob the lot of his inheritance.

യഹോവയുടെ ഓഹരിയോ അവിടത്തെ ജനം, യാക്കോബ് അവിടത്തേക്ക് വേർതിരിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഓഹരി.

10 He found him in a desert land, And in the waste, howling wilderness; He compassed him about, he watched over him, He preserved him as the apple of his eye.

അവിടന്ന് മരുഭൂമിയിൽ അവനെ കണ്ടെത്തി, വന്ധ്യമായതും ഓരികേൾക്കുന്നതുമായ ശൂന്യസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽത്തന്നെ. അവിടന്ന് അവനെ രക്ഷിക്കുകയും പരിപാലിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു, അവിടന്ന് അവനെ കൺമണിപോലെ കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിച്ചു.

11 As the eagle stirreth up its nest, Hovereth over its young, Spreadeth out its wings, Taketh them, beareth them on its feathers,

ഒരു കഴുകൻ തന്റെ കൂടിളക്കി കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വട്ടമിട്ടു പറക്കുകയും ചിറകുവിരിച്ച് അവയെ ഉയർത്തുകയും ചിറകിൽ അവയെ സുരക്ഷിതമായി വഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ.

12 So Jehovah alone did lead him, And no strange god [was] with him.

യഹോവ ഏകനായി അവനെ നയിച്ചു, ഒരു അന്യദേവനും അവനോടൊപ്പം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, And he ate the produce of the field; And he made him suck honey out of the crag, And oil out of the flinty rock;

ദേശത്തിന്റെ ഉന്നതങ്ങളിൽ അവിടന്ന് അവനെ സഞ്ചരിക്കുമാറാക്കി, വയലിലെ സമൃദ്ധികൊണ്ട് അവനെ പരിപോഷിപ്പിച്ചു. അവിടന്ന് അവനെ പാറയിൽനിന്നുള്ള തേൻകൊണ്ടും തീക്കല്ലിൽനിന്നുള്ള എണ്ണകൊണ്ടും പോഷിപ്പിച്ചു.

14 Cream of kine, and milk of sheep, With the fat of lambs, And rams of the breed of Bashan, and he-goats, With the fat of kidneys of wheat; And thou didst drink pure wine, the blood of the grape.

കന്നുകാലികളുടെയും ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിന്റെയും വെണ്ണയും പാലും, ആടുകളുടെയും കോലാടുകളുടെയും മാംസവും, ബാശാനിലെ വിശിഷ്ട ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരെയും നേർത്ത ഗോതമ്പിൻ കാമ്പിനെയും അവനു കൊടുത്തു. മുന്തിരിയുടെ രക്തമായ വീഞ്ഞു നീ കുടിച്ചു.

15 Then Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked — Thou art waxen fat, Thou art grown thick, And thou art covered with fatness; — He gave up God who made him, And lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

യെശൂരൂൻ തടിച്ചുകൊഴുത്തു, കാൽകുടഞ്ഞു, അവൻ കൊഴുത്തുതടിച്ചു, മിനുമിനുത്തു. തന്നെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ച ദൈവത്തെ അവൻ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, അവന്റെ രക്ഷയുടെ പാറയെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

16 They moved him to jealousy with strange gods, With abominations did they provoke him to anger.

അന്യദൈവങ്ങളാൽ അവർ അവിടത്തെ തീക്ഷ്ണതയുള്ളവനാക്കി. മ്ലേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളാൽ അവർ അവിടത്തെ പ്രകോപിപ്പിച്ചു,

17 They sacrificed unto demons who are not God; To gods whom they knew not, To new ones, who came newly up, Whom your fathers revered not.

ദൈവമല്ലാത്ത ഭൂതങ്ങൾക്ക് അവർ ബലി അർപ്പിച്ചു— അവർ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദേവന്മാർക്ക്, അടുത്തകാലത്തു പുതുതായി പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെട്ട ദേവന്മാർക്ക്, നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ഭയപ്പെട്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദേവന്മാർക്കുതന്നെ.

18 Of the Rock that begot thee wast thou unmindful, And thou hast forgotten God who brought thee forth.

നിന്നെ ജനിപ്പിച്ച പാറയെ നീ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, നിനക്കു ജന്മംനൽകിയ ദൈവത്തെ നീ മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

19 And Jehovah saw it, and despised them, Because of the provoking of his sons and of his daughters.

യഹോവ അതുകണ്ടു, അവരെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു. കാരണം അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും അവിടത്തെ പ്രകോപിപ്പിച്ചു.

20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be; For they are a perverse generation, Children in whom is no faithfulness.

അവിടന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “എന്റെ മുഖം ഞാൻ അവർക്കു മറയ്ക്കും, അവരുടെ അന്ത്യം എന്താകുമെന്നു ഞാൻ കാണും. അവർ മത്സരികളായ തലമുറയല്ലോ, അവിശ്വസ്ത സന്തതികൾതന്നെ.

21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is no God; They have exasperated me with their vanities; And I will move them to jealousy with that which is not a people; With a foolish nation will I provoke them to anger.

ദൈവമല്ലാത്തവയെക്കൊണ്ട് അവർ എന്നെ തീക്ഷ്ണതയുള്ളവനാക്കി, അവരുടെ മിഥ്യാമൂർത്തികളെക്കൊണ്ട് എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചു. ജനമല്ലാത്തവരെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അവരെ അസൂയയുള്ളവരാക്കും. തിരിച്ചറിവില്ലാത്ത ഒരു ജനതയെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അവരെ പ്രകോപിപ്പിക്കും.

22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, And it shall burn into the lowest Sheol, And shall consume the earth and its produce, And set fire to the foundations of the mountains. (Sheol h7585)

എന്റെ കോപത്താൽ അഗ്നി ജ്വലിച്ചു, അതു പാതാളത്തിന്റെ അടിത്തട്ടുവരെ കത്തും. അതു ഭൂമിയെയും അതിലെ കൊയ്ത്തുകളെയും ദഹിപ്പിക്കും. അതു പർവതങ്ങളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ കത്തിക്കും. (Sheol h7585)

23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; Mine arrows will I spend against them.

“ഞാൻ അത്യാഹിതങ്ങൾ അവരുടെമേൽ കുന്നുകൂട്ടും, അവർക്കെതിരേ എന്റെ അസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ തൊടുത്തുവിടും.

24 They shall be consumed with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, And with poisonous pestilence; And the teeth of beasts will I send against them, With the poison of what crawleth in the dust.

ഞാൻ അവർക്കെതിരേ കഠിനക്ഷാമം അയയ്ക്കും, ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പകർച്ചവ്യാധിയും മാരകവ്യാധിയും അയയ്ക്കും. ഞാൻ വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളുടെ പല്ല് അവർക്കെതിരേ അയയ്ക്കും; പൊടിയിൽ ഇഴയുന്ന സർപ്പങ്ങളുടെ വിഷവും അയയ്ക്കും.

25 From without shall the sword bereave them, and in the chambers, terror — Both the young man and the virgin, The suckling with the man of gray hairs.

തെരുവിൽവെച്ച് വാൾ അവരെ മക്കളില്ലാത്തവരാക്കും, അവരുടെ വീടുകളിൽ ഭീതി ആവസിക്കും. യുവാക്കളും യുവതികളും നശിക്കും. ശിശുക്കളും നരച്ചവരും നശിക്കും.

26 I would say, I will scatter, I will make the remembrance of them to cease from among men,

ഞാൻ അവരെ ചിതറിക്കുമെന്നും മനുഷ്യകുലത്തിൽനിന്ന് അവരുടെ സ്മരണ മായിക്കും എന്നും ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

27 If I did not fear provocation from the enemy, Lest their adversaries should misunderstand it, Lest they should say, Our hand is high, and Jehovah has not done all this.

എന്നാൽ, ശത്രുക്കളുടെ പ്രകോപനത്തെ ഞാൻ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു, അവരുടെ എതിരാളികൾ തെറ്റിദ്ധരിച്ച് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുമായിരിക്കും, ‘ഞങ്ങളുടെ കരം വിജയിച്ചു; യഹോവയല്ല ഇതെല്ലാം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചത്.’”

28 For they are a nation void of counsel, And understanding is not in them.

അവർ ബുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത ജനം, അവർക്കു വിവേചനശക്തിയില്ല.

29 Oh that they had been wise! they would have understood this, They would have considered their latter end!

അവർ വിവേകികളായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ ഇതു ഗ്രഹിക്കുമായിരുന്നു, അവരുടെ അന്ത്യം എന്താകുമെന്നു വിവേചിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

30 How could one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight, Were it not that their Rock had sold them, And Jehovah had delivered them up?

അവരുടെ പാറ അവരെ വിറ്റുകളയുകയും യഹോവ അവരെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ഒരുവൻ ആയിരത്തെയും ഇരുവർ പതിനായിരത്തെയും എങ്ങനെ ഓടിക്കുമായിരുന്നു?

31 For their rock is not as our Rock: Let our enemies themselves be judges.

അവരുടെ പാറ നമ്മുടെ പാറപോലെ അല്ല എന്നു നമ്മുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾപോലും സമ്മതിക്കുന്നു.

32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, And of the fields of Gomorrah: Their grapes are grapes of poison, Bitter are their clusters;

അവരുടെ മുന്തിരി സൊദോമിലെ മുന്തിരിയിൽനിന്നും ഗൊമോറായിലെ വയലുകളിൽനിന്നുമുള്ളതാകുന്നു. അവരുടെ മുന്തിരിപ്പഴങ്ങളിൽ വിഷം നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ മുന്തിരിക്കുലകൾ കയ്‌പുള്ളതാകുന്നു.

33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, And the cruel venom of vipers.

അവരുടെ വീഞ്ഞ് സർപ്പത്തിന്റെ വിഷം; മൂർഖന്റെ മാരകവിഷംതന്നെ.

34 Is not this hidden with me, Sealed up among my treasures?

“ഇത് എന്റെപക്കൽ സംഭരിക്കുകയും എന്റെ കലവറകളിൽ മുദ്രവെച്ചു സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുകയുമല്ലേ? എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

35 Vengeance is mine, and recompense, For the time when their foot shall slip. For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things that shall come upon them make haste.

ഞാനാണ് പ്രതികാരംചെയ്യുന്നവൻ; ഞാൻ പകരംവീട്ടും. തക്കസമയത്ത് അവരുടെ കാൽ വഴുതും, അവരുടെ അനർഥകാലം സമീപമായിരിക്കുന്നു, അവരുടെ നാശം ക്ഷണത്തിൽ അവരുടെമേൽ പതിക്കുന്നു.”

36 For Jehovah will judge his people, And shall repent in favour of his servants; When he seeth that power is gone, And there is none shut up or left.

അവരുടെ ശക്തി ക്ഷയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നെന്നും അടിമയോ സ്വതന്ത്രനോ ആരുംതന്നെ അവശേഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ലെന്നും അവിടന്ന് കാണുമ്പോൾ, യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തെ കുറ്റവിമുക്തരാക്കുകയും തന്റെ സേവകരോട് അനുകമ്പതോന്നുകയും ചെയ്യും.

37 And he shall say, Where are their gods, Their rock in whom they trusted,

അവിടന്ന് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയും: “അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാർ, അവർ അഭയം കണ്ടെത്തിയ പാറ,

38 Who ate the fat of their sacrifices, [And] drank the wine of their drink-offering? Let them rise up and help you, That there may be a protection over you.

അവരുടെ ബലിമേദസ്സു ഭുജിച്ച ദേവന്മാർ, അവരുടെ പാനീയയാഗത്തിന്റെ വീഞ്ഞുകുടിച്ചവർ, എവിടെ? അവർ എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിങ്ങളെ സഹായിക്കട്ടെ! അവർ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അഭയം നൽകട്ടെ!

39 See now that I, I am HE, And there is no god with me; I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal, And there is none that delivereth out of my hand,

“ഇതാ ഞാൻ, ഞാൻതന്നെയാകുന്നു ദൈവം എന്ന് ഇപ്പോൾ കണ്ടുകൊൾക! ഞാനല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊരു ദൈവമില്ല. ഞാൻ കൊല്ലുന്നു, ഞാൻ ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നു, ഞാൻ മുറിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു, ഞാൻ സൗഖ്യമാക്കുന്നു, എന്റെ കരത്തിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കാൻ ആർക്കും കഴിയുകയില്ല.

40 For I lift up my hand to the heavens, and say, I live for ever!

എന്റെ കരം സ്വർഗത്തിലേക്കുയർത്തി ഞാൻ പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നു: എന്നേക്കും ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഞാൻ ശപഥംചെയ്യുന്നു,

41 If I have sharpened my gleaming sword, And my hand take hold of judgment, I will render vengeance to mine adversaries, And will recompense them that hate me.

എന്റെ മിന്നുന്ന വാളിനു ഞാൻ മൂർച്ചകൂട്ടി, ന്യായവിധി കൈകളിൽ എടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ, എന്റെ എതിരാളികളോടു ഞാൻ പ്രതികാരംചെയ്യും എന്നെ വെറുക്കുന്നവരോടു പകരംചോദിക്കും.

42 Mine arrows will I make drunk with blood, And my sword shall devour flesh; [I will make them drunk] with the blood of the slain and of the captives, With the head of the princes of the enemy.

എന്റെ അമ്പുകളെ ഞാൻ രക്തം കുടിപ്പിച്ച് ലഹരിപിടിപ്പിക്കും, എന്റെ വാൾ മാംസം വെട്ടിവിഴുങ്ങും; കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടവരുടെയും അടിമകളുടെയും രക്തം, ശത്രുനായകന്മാരുടെ ശിരസ്സുകൾതന്നെ.”

43 Shout for joy, ye nations, with his people, For he avengeth the blood of his servants, And rendereth vengeance to his enemies, And maketh atonement for his land, for his people.

ജനതകളേ, അവിടത്തെ ജനത്തോടൊപ്പം ആനന്ദിക്കുക. അവിടത്തെ ദാസന്മാരുടെ രക്തത്തിന് അവിടന്ന് പകരംചോദിക്കും. അവിടത്തെ ശത്രുക്കളോട് അവിടന്ന് പ്രതികാരംചെയ്യും; അവിടത്തെ ജനത്തിനും ദേശത്തിനും പ്രായശ്ചിത്തംവരുത്തും.

44 And Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Hoshea the son of Nun.

മോശ നൂന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവയോടൊപ്പം വന്ന് ഈ ഗാനത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ എല്ലാ ജനവും കേൾക്കെ ഉരുവിട്ടു.

45 And when Moses had ended speaking all these words to all Israel,

മോശ ഈ വചനങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഇസ്രായേലിനോടു ചൊല്ലിത്തീർന്നശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം അവരോട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞു:

46 he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words that I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to take heed to do, all the words of this law.

“ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലെ വചനങ്ങളെല്ലാം ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ അനുസരിക്കാൻ നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളോടു കൽപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പ്രസ്താവിച്ച സകലവചനങ്ങളും ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംഗ്രഹിക്കുക.

47 For it is no vain word for you, but it is your life, and through this word ye shall prolong your days on the land whereunto ye pass over the Jordan to possess it.

ഇവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കേവലം വ്യർഥമായ കാര്യങ്ങളല്ല—അവ നിങ്ങളുടെ ജീവൻ ആകുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ അവകാശമാക്കാൻ യോർദാൻ കടന്നുചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശത്ത് നിങ്ങൾ ഇവയാൽ ദീർഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കും.”

48 And Jehovah spoke to Moses that same day, saying,

ആ ദിവസംതന്നെ യഹോവ മോശയോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചു:

49 Go up into this mountain Abarim, mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, which is opposite Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession,

“യെരീഹോവിനെതിരേ മോവാബ് ദേശത്തുള്ള അബാരീം പർവതത്തിലെ നെബോമലയിലേക്കു കയറി, ഞാൻ ഇസ്രായേൽജനത്തിന് അവരുടെ അവകാശമായി നൽകുന്ന ദേശമായ കനാൻ കണ്ടുകൊൾക.

50 and die on the mountain whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy peoples, as Aaron thy brother died on mount Hor, and was gathered unto his peoples;

നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അഹരോൻ ഹോർ പർവതത്തിൽവെച്ചു മരിച്ചു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേർന്നതുപോലെ നീ കയറുന്ന പർവതത്തിൽവെച്ചു നീയും മരിച്ച് നിന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരും.

51 because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye hallowed me not in the midst of the children of Israel.

സീൻമരുഭൂമിയിൽ കാദേശ്പട്ടണത്തിലെ മെരീബാ ജലാശയത്തിനരികിൽവെച്ച് ഇസ്രായേല്യരുടെമുമ്പാകെ നിങ്ങൾ രണ്ടുപേരും എന്നോടു വിശ്വസ്തരാകാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും ഇസ്രായേൽജനത്തിന്റെ മധ്യേ എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധിയെ ആദരിക്കാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടുമാണിത്.

52 For thou shalt see the land before [thee]; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.
