Deuteronomy 18
1 The priests, the Levites, [and] the whole tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: Jehovah's offerings by fire, and his inheritance shall they eat,
௧“லேவியர்களாகிய ஆசாரியர்களும் லேவிகோத்திரத்தார் அனைவருக்கும் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுடன் பங்கும் உரிமையும் இல்லாதிருப்பதாக; யெகோவாவுக்குச் செலுத்தும் தகனபலிகளையும் அவருக்கு உரிமையானவைகளையும் அவர்கள் சாப்பிடலாம்.
2 but they shall have no inheritance among their brethren: Jehovah, he is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.
௨அவர்களுடைய சகோதரர்களுக்குள்ளே அவர்களுக்கு உரிமையில்லை; யெகோவா அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னபடியே, அவரே அவர்களுடைய சொத்து.
3 And this shall be the priest's due from the people, from them that sacrifice a sacrifice, whether ox, or sheep: they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the jawbones, and the maw.
௩மக்களிடத்தில் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டிய ஆசாரியர்களுக்குரிய வரவானது: மக்கள் பலியிடும் ஆடுமாடுகளில் முன்னந்தொடையையும், தாடைகளையும், இரைப்பைகளையும் ஆசாரியனுக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.
4 The firstfruits [also] of thy corn, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstfruits of the shearing of thy sheep, shalt thou give him;
௪உன் தானியம், திராட்சைரசம், எண்ணெய், ஆட்டுரோமம் என்னும் இவைகளின் முதற்பலனையும் அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.
5 for Jehovah thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, that he may stand to serve in the name of Jehovah, he and his sons continually.
௫அவனும் அவனுடைய மகன்களும் எல்லா நாட்களும் யெகோவாவின் நாமத்தை முன்னிட்டு ஆராதனைசெய்ய நிற்பதற்காக, உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உன் கோத்திரத்தார் எல்லோருக்குள்ளும் அவனையே தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.
6 And if the Levite shall come from one of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourneth, and shall come according to all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah will choose,
௬“இஸ்ரவேலில் எவ்விடத்திலுமுள்ள உன் வாசல்கள் யாதொன்றிலே தங்கின ஒரு லேவியன் அவ்விடத்தை விட்டு, யெகோவா தெரிந்துகொண்ட இடத்திற்கு மனப்பூர்வமாக வந்தால்,
7 and shall serve in the name of Jehovah his God, as all his brethren the Levites that stand there before Jehovah,
௭அங்கே யெகோவாவுடைய சந்நிதியில் நிற்கும் லேவியர்களாகிய தன் எல்லா சகோதரர்களைப்போலவும் தன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் நாமத்தை முன்னிட்டு ஊழியம்செய்வான்.
8 — they shall have like portions to eat, besides that which he hath sold of his patrimony.
௮அப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் தங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களுடைய சொத்தின் விலைக்கிரயத்தை அநுபவிக்கிறதும் அல்லாமல், சாப்பாட்டிற்காக சமமான பாகத்தையும் பெற்றுக்கொள்வார்கள்.
9 When thou art come into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations.
௯“உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தில் நீ போய்ச்சேரும்போது, அந்த மக்கள் செய்யும் அருவருப்புகளின்படி செய்யக் கற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டாம்.
10 There shall not be found among you he that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, that useth divination, that useth auguries, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,
௧0தன் மகனையாவது தன் மகளையாவது தகனபலியாகத் தீயில் பலியிடுகிறவனும், குறிசொல்லுகிறவனும், நாள் பார்க்கிறவனும், ஜோதிடம் பார்க்கிறவனும், சூனியக்காரனும்,
11 or a charmer, or one that inquireth of a spirit of Python, or a soothsayer, or one that consulteth the dead.
௧௧மந்திரவாதியும், வசியக்காரனும், மாயவித்தைக்காரனும், செத்தவர்களிடத்தில் குறிகேட்கிறவனும் உங்களுக்குள்ளே இருக்கவேண்டாம்.
12 For every one that doeth these things is an abomination to Jehovah, and because of these abominations Jehovah thy God doth dispossess them from before thee.
௧௨இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளைச் செய்கிறவன் எவனும் யெகோவாவுக்கு அருவருப்பானவன்; இப்படிப்பட்ட அருவருப்பான செயலின் காரணமாக உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா அவர்களை உன் முன்னின்று துரத்திவிடுகிறார்.
13 Thou shalt be perfect with Jehovah thy God.
௧௩உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக நீ உத்தமனாயிருப்பாயாக.
14 For these nations, which thou shalt dispossess, hearkened unto those that use auguries, and that use divination; but as for thee, Jehovah thy God hath not suffered thee [to do] so.
௧௪“நீ துரத்திவிடப்போகிற இந்த மக்கள் நாள்பார்க்கிறவர்களுக்கும் குறிசொல்லுகிறவர்களுக்கும் செவிகொடுக்கிறார்கள்; நீ அப்படிச் செய்கிறதற்கு உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உத்திரவுகொடுக்கமாட்டார்.
15 Jehovah thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him shall ye hearken;
௧௫உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா என்னைப்போல ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசியை உனக்காக உன் நடுவே உன் சகோதரர்களிடத்திலிருந்து எழும்பச்செய்வார்; அவர் சொல்வதைக் கேட்பீர்களாக.
16 according to all that thou desiredst of Jehovah thy God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
௧௬ஓரேபிலே சபை கூட்டப்பட்ட நாளில்: நான் சாகாதபடி என் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் சத்தத்தை இனி நான் கேளாமலும், இந்தப் பெரிய அக்கினியை இனி நான் காணாமலும் இருப்பேனாக என்று உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை நீ வேண்டிக்கொண்டதையெல்லாம் அவர் செய்வார்.
17 And Jehovah said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
௧௭அப்பொழுது யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: அவர்கள் சொன்னது சரியே.
18 A prophet will I raise up unto them from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
௧௮உன்னைப்போல ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசியை நான் அவர்களுக்காக அவர்கள் சகோதரர்களிடத்திலிருந்து எழும்பச்செய்து, என் வார்த்தைகளை அவர் வாயில் அருளுவேன்; நான் அவருக்குக் கற்பிப்பதையெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுவார்.
19 And it shall come to pass that the man who hearkeneth not unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
௧௯என் பெயராலே அவர் சொல்லும் என் வார்த்தைகளுக்குச் செவிகொடாதவன் எவனோ அவனை நான் விசாரிப்பேன்.
20 But the prophet who shall presume to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.
௨0சொல்லும்படி நான் கட்டளையிடாத வார்த்தைகளை என் நாமத்தினாலே சொல்லத் துணியும் தீர்க்கதரிசியும், வேறே தெய்வங்களின் பெயராலே பேசும் தீர்க்கதரிசியும் சாகக்கடவன்.
21 And if thou say in thy heart, How shall we know the word that Jehovah hath not spoken?
௨௧யெகோவா சொல்லாத வார்த்தை இன்னதென்று நான் எப்படி அறிவேன் என்று நீ உன் இருதயத்தில் சொல்வாயாகில்,
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, and the thing followeth not, nor cometh to pass, that is the word which Jehovah hath not spoken; the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: be not afraid of him.
௨௨ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசி யெகோவாவின் நாமத்தினால் சொல்லும் காரியம் நடக்காமலும் செயல்படாமலும் போனால், அது யெகோவா சொல்லாத வார்த்தை; அந்தத் தீர்க்கதரிசி அதைத் துணிகரத்தினால் சொன்னான்; அவனுக்கு நீ பயப்படவேண்டாம்.
