< Daniel 8 >

1 In the third year of the reign of Belshazzar the king, a vision appeared unto me, [even] to me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.
Belshazzar siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning thumto haih naah, hnuksakhaih tangsuek kai khaeah amtueng, to pacoengah kai, Daniel khaeah hnuksakhaih to amtueng let.
2 And I saw in the vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was in the fortress of Shushan, which is in the province of Elam. And I saw in the vision, and I was by the river Ulai.
Kai khaeah kamtueng hnuksakhaih to ka khet naah, kai loe Elam prae, Shushan ah ka oh; to hnuksakhaih amtueng naah kai loe Ulai vapui taengah ka oh.
3 And I lifted up mine eyes and saw, and behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns; and the two horns were high; and one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
Ka dan tahang naah, Khenah, vapui taengah angdoe, taki hnetto kaom tuu tae maeto ka hnuk; to tuu tae ih taki loe sawk parai; toe taki maeto loe kalah taki maeto pongah sawk kue, taki kasawk loe hnukkhuem ah tacawt.
4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward, and no beast could stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; and he did according to his will, and became great.
To tuu tae mah niduem, aluek hoi aloih to a daeng pongah, kawbaktih moi doeh anih hma ah angdoe o thai ai; mi mah doeh anih ban thung hoiah loisak thai ai, to pongah anih loe a koeh baktiah sak moe, thacak aep.
5 And as I was considering, behold, a he-goat came from the west over the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
To kawng to ka poek li naah, khenah, a mik salakah thacak taki kacawn, maeh tae maeto loe niduem bang hoiah angzoh moe, long cawh ai ah long pum to takui.
6 And he came to the ram that had the two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran upon him in the fury of his power.
Anih loe ka hnuk ih vapui taengah kangdoe taki hnetto kacawn tuu tae khaeah angzoh, tha hoiah anih to hmaang.
7 And I saw him come close to the ram, and he was enraged with him, and smote the ram, and broke his two horns; and there was no power in the ram to stand before him; and he cast him down to the ground, and trampled upon him; and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
Tuu tae taeng phak naah anih nuiah palungphui moe, tuu tae to a daeng pongah, tuu ih taki hnetto angkhaeh pae hmaek: tuu tae loe anih hma ah angdoet thaihaih tha to tawn ai boeh pongah, maeh mah tuu to long ah atimsak moe, anih to khok hoiah atit; anih ban thung hoi tuu pahlong thaih kami mi doeh om ai.
8 And the he-goat became exceeding great; but when he was become strong, the great horn was broken; and in its stead came up four notable ones toward the four winds of the heavens.
To pongah maeh tae loe paroeai len; toe a thacak li naah taki kalen to angkhaeh pae ving, to taki ahmuen ah van takhi palito ohhaih ahmuen bangah kangqoi, thacak taki palito tacawt.
9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which became exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the beauty [of the earth].
To taki palito thung ih maeto hoiah taki tetta tacawt let, to taki loe aloih bang, ni angyae bang hoi kahoih prae bangah angqoi moe, thacakhaih hoiah qoeng tahang.
10 And it became great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down [some] of the host and of the stars to the ground, and trampled upon them.
Anih loe thacak parai pongah, van misatuh kaminawk khoek to misa a tuk, thoemto van misatuh kaminawknawk hoi cakaehnawk to long ah vah tathuk moe, khok hoiah atit.
11 (And he magnified [himself] even to the prince of the host, and from him the continual [sacrifice] was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
Ue, anih loe van misatuh angraeng baktiah angmah hoi angmah to amkoeh, Anih khaeah ni thokkruek sak ih angbawnhaih to lak pae ving moe, Anih ohhaih hmuenciim doeh vah pae ving.
12 And a time of trial was appointed unto the continual [sacrifice] by reason of transgression.) And it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised and prospered.
Zaehaih pop parai pongah ni thokkruek sak ih angbawnhaih to pakaa hanah, anih khaeah misatuh thaih kami to paek pae; anih mah loktang lok to long ah vah ving; to tiah a sakhaih pongah hmuennawk boih ah hmacawn.
13 And I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that one who spoke, How long shall be the vision of the continual [sacrifice] and of the transgression that maketh desolate, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden down under foot?
To naah kaciim kami maeto mah thuih ih lok to ka thaih, kalah kaciim kami maeto mah to tiah lok kathui kaciim kami khaeah, Ni thokkruek sak ih angbawnhaih, zaehaih pongah pong suthaih, hmuenciim hoi van misatuh kaminawk khok hoiah ati kami khaeah paekhaih atue hnuksakhaih loe nasetta maw akra tih? tiah a dueng.
14 And he said unto me, Until two thousand and three hundred evenings [and] mornings: then shall the sanctuary be vindicated.
Anih mah kai khaeah, ni sang hnet, cumvai thumto akra tih; to pacoengah hmuenciim to ciimcai ah pasae o let tih, tiah ang naa.
15 And it came to pass, when I Daniel had seen the vision, I sought for the understanding of it, and behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
Hnuksakhaih to Kai, Daniel khaeah amtueng, a thuih koehhaih ahlong to pakrong li naah, khenah, kami ih krang hoi kanghmong kami maeto ka hma ah angdoet.
16 And I heard a man's voice between [the banks of] the Ulai; and he called and said, Gabriel, make this [man] to understand the vision.
To naah Ulai vapui salakah kaom kami maeto ih lok to tacawt, Gabriel, hae kami han hnuksak ih hmuen thuih koehhaih to leh paeh, tiah thuih ih lok to ka thaih.
17 And he came near where I stood; and when he came, I was afraid, and fell on my face; and he said unto me, Understand, son of man; for the vision is for the time of the end.
To kami loe kang doethaih ahmuen taengah angzoh, to naah zithaih ka tawnh moe, ka kuep; toe anih mah, Kami capa, thaikophaih tawn ah; hae hnuksak ih hmuen loe atue boenghaih amtuengsak ih ni, tiah ang naa.
18 Now, as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep stupor, with my face toward the ground. And he touched me, and set me up where I had stood.
To tiah kai khaeah lok ang thuih li naah, kai loe long ah tabok moe ka iih; toe anih mah kai ang sui moe, ang pathawk.
19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be at the end of the indignation: for at the set time the end shall be.
Anih mah, Khenah, long tue loe atue khaehhaih phak naah boeng tih, palungphuihaih boeng naah kaom han koi hmuen to kang thuih han.
20 The ram that thou sawest having the two horns: they are the kings of Media and Persia.
Na hnuk ih taki hnetto tacawt tuu tae loe, Media hoi Persia siangpahrang hnuksakhaih ih ni.
21 And the rough goat is the king of Greece; and the great horn that was between his eyes is the first king.
Amui kamhak maeh loe Grik kaminawk ih siangpahrang to ni; mik salakah tacawt kalen pui taki loe hmaloe koek siangpahrang hnuksakhaih ih ni.
22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up in its stead, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not with his power.
Kang khaek taki ahmuen ah tacawt taki palito loe, to prae thung hoiah prae palito tacawt tih, tiah thuih koehhaih ih ni, toe thacak o mak ai.
23 And at the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors shall have come to the full, a king of bold countenance, and understanding riddles, shall stand up.
Zaehaih sak han kakoeh hnukkhuem koek siangpahrang ukhaih prae phak naah loe, zit kaom mikhmai katawn, kasae hmuen sak han panoek, siangpahrang to tacawt tih.
24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall destroy marvellously, and shall prosper, and shall practise, and shall destroy the mighty ones, and the people of the saints.
Anih loe thacak tih, toe a thacakhaih loe angmah ih na ai ni; anih mah zit kaom amrohaih to phasak tih, anih loe sak ih hmuennawk boih ah hmacawn tih. Anih mah thacak kaminawk hoi kaciim kaminawk to amrosak tih.
25 And through his cunning shall he cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he will magnify [himself] in his heart, and by prosperity will corrupt many; and he will stand up against the Prince of princes: but he shall be broken without hand.
Anih loe alinghaih rang hoiah a ukhaih prae to qoengsak ueloe, palung thungah angmah hoi angmah to amkoeh tih. Monghaih hoiah kami paroeai amrosak tih; anih mah angraengnawk ih Angraeng to misatuh tih; toe anih loe kami ih ban patoh ai ah anghma angtaa tih.
26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which hath been told is true; but close thou up the vision, for it is for many days [to come].
Duembang hoi akhawnbang ah kamtueng hnuksakhaih loe tangtang ah oh; to pongah hnuksakhaih to catui daeng ah; hae loe hmabang angzo han koi aninawk hnuksakhaih ih ni, tiah ang naa.
27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick [certain] days: then I rose up, and did the king's business. And I was astonished at the vision, but none understood [it].
Kai, Daniel loe thazok sut moe, ni nasetto thung maw loe ngan ang nat; to pacoengah kang thawk moe, siangpahrang ih toksak hanah ka caeh. Hnuksakhaih pongah kang pho sut, toe mi mah doeh panoek o ai.
