Acts 7
1 And the high priest said, Are these things then so?
Der Hohepriester aber sprach: ist dem so?
2 And he said, Brethren and fathers, hearken. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,
Er aber sprach: Ihr Männer, Brüder und Väter, höret. Der Gott der Herrlichkeit erschien unserem Vater Abraham, da er in Mesopotamia war, ehe er sich in Haran niederließ,
3 and said to him, Go out of thy land and out of thy kindred, and come into the land which I will shew thee.
und sprach zu ihm: ziehe weg aus deinem Lande und von deiner Verwandtschaft, und komm her in das Land, das ich dir zeigen will.
4 Then going out of the land of the Chaldeans he dwelt in Charran, and thence, after his father died, he removed him into this land in which ye now dwell.
Da zog er weg aus dem Chaldäer Land und ließ sich nieder in Haran. Und von da versetzte er ihn nach seines Vaters Tod in dieses Land, welches ihr jetzt bewohnet.
5 And he did not give him an inheritance in it, not even what his foot could stand on; and promised to give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when he had no child.
Und er gab ihm keinen Erbbesitz darin, auch nicht einen Fuß breit, aber er verhieß es zum Besitz zu geben ihm und seinem Samen nach ihm, zur Zeit da er noch kein Kind hatte.
6 And God spoke thus: His seed shall be a sojourner in a strange land, and they shall enslave them and evil entreat [them] four hundred years;
Gott sprach aber also: dein Same soll Beisasse sein in einem fremden Land, und sie werden ihn knechten und mißhandeln vierhundert Jahre.
7 and the nation to which they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God; and after these things they shall come forth and serve me in this place.
Und das Volk, dem sie dienen werden, will ich richten, sprach Gott, und nach diesem werden sie ausziehen und mir dienen an diesem Orte.
8 And he gave to him [the] covenant of circumcision; and thus he begat Isaac and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac Jacob, and Jacob the twelve patriarchs.
Und er gab ihm den Bund der Beschneidung; und solchergestalt zeugte er den Isaak und beschnitt ihn am achten Tage, und Isaak den Jakob, und Jakob die zwölf Patriarchen.
9 And the patriarchs, envying Joseph, sold him away into Egypt. And God was with him,
Und die Patriarchen waren eifersüchtig gegen Joseph und verkauften ihn nach Aegypten; und Gott war mit ihm.
10 and delivered him out of all his tribulations, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he appointed him chief over Egypt and all his house.
Und er errettete ihn aus allen seinen Drangsalen, und gab ihm Gnade und Weisheit vor Pharao, dem König von Aegypten, und er bestellte ihn als Regenten über Aegypten und über sein ganzes Haus.
11 But a famine came upon all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great distress, and our fathers found no food.
Es kam aber eine Hungersnot über ganz Aegypten und Kanaan, und eine große Bedrängnis, und unsere Väter trieben keine Früchte auf.
12 But Jacob, having heard of there being corn in Egypt, sent out our fathers first;
Da aber Jakob hörte, daß es in Aegypten Getreide gebe, schickte er unsere Väter zum ersten male ab;
13 and the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren, and the family of Joseph became known to Pharaoh.
und beim zweiten mal gab sich Joseph seinen Brüdern zu erkennen, und es wurde dem Pharao seine Abstammung bekannt.
14 And Joseph sent and called down to him his father Jacob and all [his] kindred, seventy-five souls.
Joseph aber schickte aus, und ließ seinen Vater Jakob kommen und seine ganze Verwandtschaft, fünf und siebenzig Seelen stark.
15 And Jacob went down into Egypt and died, he and our fathers,
Jakob aber zog hinunter nach Aegypten und starb, er selbst und unsere Väter,
16 and were carried over to Sychem and placed in the sepulchre which Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the [father] of Sychem.
und sie wurden nach Sichem gebracht und bestattet in dem Grab, welches Abraham um eine Summe Silber gekauft hatte, von den Söhnen Emmor in Sichem.
17 But as the time of promise drew near which God had promised to Abraham, the people increased and multiplied in Egypt,
Wie aber die Zeit der Verheißung herbeikam, die Gott dem Abraham angekündigt hatte, da mehrte sich das Volk und breitete sich aus in Aegypten,
18 until another king over Egypt arose who did not know Joseph.
bis daß ein anderer König über Aegypten aufkam, welcher von Joseph nichts wußte.
19 He dealt subtilly with our race, and evil entreated the fathers, casting out their infants that they might not live.
Dieser überlistete unser Geschlecht und zwang die Väter, ihre Kinder auszusetzen, daß sie nicht am Leben blieben.
20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceedingly lovely, who was nourished three months in the house of his father.
In dieser Zeit ward Moses geboren, der gefiel Gott. Er wurde drei Monate lang im Hause seines Vaters aufgezogen.
21 And when he was cast out, the daughter of Pharaoh took him up, and brought him up for herself [to be] for a son.
Da er aber ausgesetzt wurde, nahm ihn die Tochter Pharaos weg, und zog ihn sich zum Sohne auf.
22 And Moses was instructed in all [the] wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was mighty in his words and deeds.
Und Moses ward ausgebildet in aller Weisheit der Aegypter; er war aber gewaltig in Wort und That.
23 And when a period of forty years was fulfilled to him, it came into his heart to look upon his brethren, the sons of Israel;
Wie er aber vierzig Jahre voll hatte, kam es ihm in Sinn, nach seinen Brüdern, den Söhnen Israels, zu sehen.
24 and seeing a certain one wronged, he defended [him], and avenged him that was being oppressed, smiting the Egyptian.
Und da er einen mißhandeln sah, griff er zur Wehre, und rächte den Unterdrückten, indem er den Aegypter erschlug.
25 For he thought that his brethren would understand that God by his hand was giving them deliverance. But they understood not.
Er meinte aber, die Brüder sollen verstehen, daß Gott durch seine Hand ihnen Rettung verleihe, sie aber verstanden es nicht.
26 And on the morrow he shewed himself to them as they were contending, and compelled them to peace, saying, Ye are brethren, why do ye wrong one another?
Und am folgenden Tag erschien er bei ihnen, da sie stritten, und wollte sie versöhnen zum Frieden indem er sagte: Männer, ihr seid Brüder, was schädiget ihr einander?
27 But he that was wronging his neighbour thrust him away, saying, Who established thee ruler and judge over us?
Der aber seinen Nächsten schädigte, stieß ihn zurück und sagte: wer hat dich zum Herrscher und Richter über uns gesetzt?
28 Dost thou wish to kill me as thou killedst the Egyptian yesterday?
Willst du mich etwa töten, so wie du gestern den Aegypter getötet hast?
29 And Moses fled at this saying, and became a sojourner in the land of Madiam, where he begat two sons.
Moses aber floh aus diesem Anlaß, und wurde Beisasse im Lande Midian, woselbst er zwei Söhne zeugte.
30 And when forty years were fulfilled, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sinai, in a flame of fire of a bush.
Und nach Verlauf von vierzig Jahren, erschien ihm in der Wüste des Berges Sinai ein Engel in der Flamme eines brennenden Dornstrauchs.
31 And Moses seeing it wondered at the vision; and as he went up to consider it, there was a voice of [the] Lord,
Moses aber, da er es sahe, wunderte sich über das Gesicht; da er aber hinzutrat, es zu betrachten, da kam eine Stimme des Herrn:
32 I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob. And Moses trembled, and durst not consider [it].
ich bin der Gott deiner Väter, der Gott Abrahams und Isaaks und Jakobs. Moses aber erbebte, und wagte nicht es zu betrachten.
33 And the Lord said to him, Loose the sandal of thy feet, for the place on which thou standest is holy ground.
Der Herr aber sprach zu ihm: lege die Schuhe unter deinen Füßen ab, denn der Ort wo du stehtst, ist heiliges Land.
34 I have surely seen the ill treatment of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groan, and have come down to take them out of it; and now, come, I will send thee to Egypt.
Gesehen habe ich die Mißhandlung meines Volkes in Aegypten, und habe sein Seufzen gehört, und bin herabgekommen, sie zu befreien; so komm, ich will dich nach Aegypten senden.
35 This Moses, whom they refused, saying, Who made thee ruler and judge? him did God send [to be] a ruler and deliverer with the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.
Diesen Moses, den sie verleugnet hatten, da sie sagten: wer hat dich zum Herrscher und Richter bestellt? diesen hat Gott als Herrscher und Erlöser abgesandt mit Hilfe des Engels, der ihm im Dornstrauch erschienen war.
36 He led them out, having wrought wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
Dieser hat sie herausgeführt, indem er Wunder und Zeichen that im Land Aegypten und im roten Meer und in der Wüste vierzig Jahre.
37 This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, A prophet shall God raise up to you out of your brethren like me [him shall ye hear].
Dies ist der Moses, der den Söhnen Israels gesagt hat: einen Propheten wird euch Gott erwecken aus euren Brüdern, wie mich.
38 This is he who was in the assembly in the wilderness, with the angel who spoke to him in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers; who received living oracles to give to us;
Dieser ist es, der da war unter der Gemeinde in der Wüste, mit dem Engel, der mit ihm sprach am Berge Sinai, und unseren Vätern, der da empfieng lebendige Sprüche zur Mitteilung an uns,
39 to whom our fathers would not be subject, but thrust [him] from them, and in their hearts turned back to Egypt,
dem unsere Väter nicht wollten unterthan sein, sondern stießen ihn zurück und wendeten sich im Herzen zurück nach Aegypten,
40 saying to Aaron, Make us gods who shall go before us; for this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what has happened to him.
da sie zu Aaron sagten: mache uns Götter, die vor uns herziehen sollen, denn diser Moses, der uns aus Aegypten geführt, - wir wissen nicht, was mit ihm geworden.
41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
Und sie machten sich einen Stier in jenen Tagen, und brachten dem Götzenbild Opfer, und ergötzten sich an den Werken ihrer Hände.
42 But God turned and delivered them up to serve the host of heaven; as it is written in [the] book of the prophets, Have ye offered me victims and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
Gott aber wandte sich und gab sie dahin, dem Heere des Himmels zu dienen, wie geschrieben steht im Prophetenbuch: habt ihr denn mir Schlachttiere und Opfer gebracht vierzig Jahre in der Wüste, Haus Israel?
43 Yea, ye took up the tent of Moloch, and the star of [your] god Remphan, the forms which ye made to do homage to them; and I will transport you beyond Babylon.
Ja, das Zelt des Moloch trugt ihr und den Stern des Gottes Romphan, die Bilder, die ihr gemacht, sie anzubeten; und ich werde euch versetzen über Babylon hinaus.
44 Our fathers had the tent of the testimony in the wilderness, as he that spoke to Moses commanded to make it according to the model which he had seen;
Das Zelt des Zeugnisses war bei unseren Vätern in der Wüste, so wie es verordnet hatte zu machen, der mit Moses sprach, nach dem Bilde das er gesehen hatte;
45 which also our fathers, receiving from their predecessors, brought in with Joshua when they entered into possession of [the lands of] the nations, whom God drove out from [the] face of our fathers, until the days of David;
das haben auch unsere Väter überkommen und hineingebracht mit Josua in das Gebiet der Heiden, die Gott vertrieb vor unseren Vätern her, bis auf die Tage Davids,
46 who found favour before God, and asked to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob;
der da Gnade fand vor Gott und bat, eine Stätte zu bekommen für das Haus Jakob.
47 but Solomon built him a house.
Salomo aber hat ihm ein Haus gebaut.
48 But the Most High dwells not in [places] made with hands; as says the prophet,
Aber der Höchste wohnt nicht im Werk von Händen, wie der Prophet sagt:
49 The heaven [is] my throne and the earth the footstool of my feet: what house will ye build me? saith [the] Lord, or where [is the] place of my rest?
der Himmel ist mein Thron, die Erde aber meiner Füße Schemel; was für ein Haus wollt ihr mir bauen, spricht der Herr, oder wo ist der Ort, da ich ruhen soll?
50 has not my hand made all these things?
Hat nicht meine Hand dieses alles gemacht?
51 O stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers, ye also.
Ihr Halsstarrige, unbeschnitten an Herz und Ohr, ihr widerstrebet allezeit dem heiligen Geist, wie eure Väter so auch ihr.
52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain those who announced beforehand concerning the coming of the Just One, of whom ye have now become deliverers up and murderers!
Wo wäre ein Prophet, den eure Väter nicht verfolgt hätten? Ja getötet haben sie die, welche voraus verkündeten vom Kommen des Gerechten, dessen Verräter und Mörder ihr jetzt geworden seid,
53 who have received the law as ordained by [the] ministry of angels, and have not kept [it].
die ihr das annahmet auf Anweisung von Engeln hin und habt es nicht gehalten.
54 And hearing these things they were cut to the heart, and gnashed their teeth against him.
Da sie aber dieses hörten, ergrimmten sie in ihren Herzen, und knirschten mit den Zähnen gegen ihn.
55 But being full of [the] Holy Spirit, having fixed his eyes on heaven, he saw [the] glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,
Er aber voll heiligen Geistes blickte in den Himmel, und sah die Herrlichkeit Gottes, und Jesus stehen zur Rechten Gottes,
56 and said, Lo, I behold the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing at the right hand of God.
und sprach: Siehe ich schaue die Himmel offen, und den Sohn des Menschen zur Rechten Gottes stehen.
57 And they cried out with a loud voice, and held their ears, and rushed upon him with one accord;
Sie aber schrien laut, und hielten sich die Ohren zu, und stürmten wie ein Mann auf ihn ein.
58 and having cast [him] out of the city, they stoned [him]. And the witnesses laid aside their clothes at the feet of a young man called Saul.
Und sie trieben ihn zur Stadt hinaus, und steinigten ihn. Und die Zeugen legten ihre Kleider ab zu Füßen eines jungen Mannes mit Namen Saul.
59 And they stoned Stephen, praying, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
Und sie steinigten den Stephanus, indes er flehte und sprach: Herr Jesus, nimm meinen Geist auf.
60 And kneeling down, he cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And having said this, he fell asleep.
Er brach aber in die Knie, und rief laut: Herr, wäge ihnen diese Sünde nicht zu. Und als er dies gesprochen, entschlief er.
