Acts 14
1 And it came to pass in Iconium that they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake that a great multitude of both Jews and Greeks believed.
੧ਇਕੋਨਿਯੁਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ਜੋ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।
2 But the Jews who did not believe stirred up the minds of [those of] the nations and made [them] evil-affected against the brethren.
੨ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਮਾ ਕੇ, ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬੁਰਾ ਪਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
3 They stayed therefore a good while, speaking boldly, [confiding] in the Lord, who gave witness to the word of his grace, giving signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
੩ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਿਨ ਉੱਥੇ ਠਹਿਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ, ਨਿਡਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਖਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
4 And the multitude of the city was divided, and some were with the Jews and some with the apostles.
੪ਪਰ ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੁੱਟ ਪੈ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
5 And when an assault was making, both of [those of] the nations and [the] Jews with their rulers, to use [them] ill and stone them,
੫ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਥਰਾਉ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
6 they, being aware of it, fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra and Derbe, and the surrounding country,
੬ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ, ਲੁਕਾਉਨਿਯਾ ਨਗਰ ਲੁਸਤ੍ਰਾ, ਦਰਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੱਜ ਗਏ।
7 and there they were announcing the glad tidings.
੭ਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ।
8 And a certain man in Lystra, impotent in his feet, sat, [being] lame from his mother's womb, who had never walked.
੮ਲੁਸਤ੍ਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜਮਾਂਦਰੂ ਲੰਗੜਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
9 This [man] heard Paul speaking, who, fixing his eyes on him, and seeing that he had faith to be healed,
੯ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਹੈ।
10 said with a loud voice, Rise up straight upon thy feet: and he sprang up and walked.
੧੦ਤਾਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ! ਤਦ ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।
11 But the crowds, who saw what Paul had done, lifted up their voices in Lycaonian, saying, The gods, having made themselves like men, are come down to us.
੧੧ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਲੁਕਾਉਨਿਯਾ ਦੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਉੱਤਰਿਆ ਹੈ!
12 And they called Barnabas Jupiter, and Paul Mercury, because he took the lead in speaking.
੧੨ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਿਓਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਮੇਸ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਬਚਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਗੂ ਸੀ।
13 And the priest of Jupiter who was before the city, having brought bulls and garlands to the gates, would have done sacrifice along with the crowds.
੧੩ਜਿਓਸ ਦਾ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਦਾ ਪੁਜਾਰੀ ਬਲ਼ਦ ਅਤੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ, ਇਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ ਕਰੇ।
14 But the apostles Barnabas and Paul, having heard [it], rent their garments, and rushed out to the crowd, crying
੧੪ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਾੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੌੜੇ।
15 and saying, Men, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, preaching to you to turn from these vanities to the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things in them;
੧੫ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਪੁਰਖੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ? ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ-ਸੁੱਖ ਭੋਗਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜੋ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼, ਧਰਤੀ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਬਣਾਇਆ।
16 who in the past generations suffered all the nations to go in their own ways,
੧੬ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
17 though indeed he did not leave himself without witness, doing good, and giving to you from heaven rain and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.
੧੭ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਨਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਭਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਵਰਖਾ ਅਤੇ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਰੁੱਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਡਿਆਂ ਮਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
18 And saying these things, they with difficulty kept the crowds from sacrificing to them.
੧੮ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਿਆ, ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ।
19 But there came Jews from Antioch and Iconium, and having persuaded the crowds and stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing him to have died.
੧੯ਪਰੰਤੂ ਕਈ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਕੋਨਿਯੁਮ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਆਏ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਮਾ ਕੇ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਥਰਾਉ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਘਸੀਟ ਕੇ ਨਗਰੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਗਏ।
20 But while the disciples encircled him, he rose up and entered into the city. And on the morrow he went away with Barnabas to Derbe.
੨੦ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦਰਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
21 And having announced the glad tidings to that city, and having made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, and Iconium, and Antioch,
੨੧ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਸੁਣਾ ਚੁੱਕੇ, ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਲੇ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਲੁਸਤ੍ਰਾ, ਇਕੁਨਿਯੁਮ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜੇ।
22 establishing the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to abide in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God.
੨੨ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਕੜੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣੇ ਰਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਿ ਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜਨਾ ਹੈ।
23 And having chosen them elders in each assembly, having prayed with fastings, they committed them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.
੨੩ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ, ਅਤੇ ਵਰਤ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
24 And having passed through Pisidia they came to Pamphylia,
੨੪ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਪਿਸਿਦਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘ ਕੇ ਪਮਫ਼ੁਲਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ।
25 and having spoken the word in Perga, they came down to Attalia;
੨੫ਅਤੇ ਪਰਗਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾ ਕੇ ਅੱਤਲਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਏ।
26 and thence they sailed away to Antioch, whence they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they had fulfilled.
੨੬ਉੱਥੋਂ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਾਕਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲੇ, ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੁਣ ਪੂਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੌਂਪੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
27 And having arrived, and having brought together the assembly, they related to them all that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith to the nations.
੨੭ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਤਾਂ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਵੱਡੇ-ਵੱਡੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ।
28 And they stayed no little time with the disciples.
੨੮ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਰਹੇ।
