Acts 10
1 But a certain man in Caesarea, — by name Cornelius, a centurion of the band called Italic,
കൈസൎയ്യയിൽ ഇത്താലിക എന്ന പട്ടാളത്തിൽ കൊൎന്നേല്യൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു ശതാധിപൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
2 pious, and fearing God with all his house, [both] giving much alms to the people, and supplicating God continually,
അവൻ ഭക്തനും തന്റെ സകലഗൃഹത്തോടും കൂടെ ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നവനുമായി ജനത്തിന്നു വളരെ ധൎമ്മം കൊടുത്തും എപ്പോഴും ദൈവത്തോടു പ്രാൎത്ഥിച്ചും പോന്നു.
3 — saw plainly in a vision, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming unto him, and saying to him, Cornelius.
അവൻ പകൽ ഏകദേശം ഒമ്പതാം മണിനേരത്തു ഒരു ദൎശനത്തിൽ ഒരു ദൈവദൂതൻ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അകത്തു വരുന്നതു സ്പഷ്ടമായി കണ്ടു: കൊൎന്നേല്യൊസേ എന്നു തന്നോടു പറയുന്നതും കേട്ടു.
4 But he, having fixed his eyes upon him, and become full of fear, said, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, Thy prayers and thine alms have gone up for a memorial before God.
അവൻ അവനെ ഉറ്റു നോക്കി ഭയപരവശനായി: എന്താകുന്നു കൎത്താവേ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അവൻ അവനോടു: നിന്റെ പ്രാൎത്ഥനയും ധൎമ്മവും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
5 And now send men to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter.
ഇപ്പോൾ യോപ്പയിലേക്കു ആളയച്ചു, പത്രൊസ് എന്നു മറുപേരുള്ള ശിമോനെ വരുത്തുക.
6 He lodges with a certain Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.
അവൻ തോൽക്കൊല്ലനായ ശിമോൻ എന്നൊരുവനോടു കൂടെ പാൎക്കുന്നു. അവന്റെ വീടു കടല്പുറത്തു ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7 And when the angel who was speaking to him had departed, having called two of his household and a pious soldier of those who were constantly with him,
അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ച ദൂതൻ പോയ ശേഷം അവൻ തന്റെ വേലക്കാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെയും തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അകമ്പടി നില്ക്കുന്നവരിൽ ദൈവഭക്തനായോരു പടയാളിയേയും
8 and related all things to them, he sent them to Joppa.
വിളിച്ചു സകലവും വിവരിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു യോപ്പയിലേക്കു അയച്ചു
9 And on the morrow, as these were journeying and drawing near to the city, Peter went up on the house to pray, about the sixth hour.
പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവർ യാത്രചെയ്തു പട്ടണത്തോടു സമീപിക്കുമ്പോൾ പത്രൊസ് ആറാം മണിനേരത്തു പ്രാൎത്ഥിപ്പാൻ വെണ്മാടത്തിൽ കയറി.
10 And he became hungry and desired to eat. But as they were making ready an ecstasy came upon him:
അവൻ വളരെ വിശന്നിട്ടു ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവർ ഒരുക്കുമ്പോഴേക്കു അവന്നു ഒരു വിവശത വന്നു.
11 and he beholds the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as a great sheet, [bound] by [the] four corners [and] let down to the earth;
ആകാശം തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നതും വലിയൊരു തുപ്പട്ടിപോലെ നാലു കോണും കെട്ടീട്ടു ഭൂമിയിലേക്കു ഇറക്കിവിട്ടോരു പാത്രം വരുന്നതും അവൻ കണ്ടു.
12 in which were all the quadrupeds and creeping things of the earth, and the fowls of the heaven.
അതിൽ ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലവിധ നാൽക്കാലിയും ഇഴജാതിയും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
13 And there was a voice to him, Rise, Peter, slay and eat.
പത്രൊസേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു അറുത്തു തിന്നുക എന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടായി.
14 And Peter said, In no wise, Lord; for I have never eaten anything common or unclean.
അതിന്നു പത്രൊസ്: ഒരിക്കലും പാടില്ല, കൎത്താവേ; മലിനമോ അശുദ്ധമോ ആയതൊന്നും ഞാൻ ഒരുനാളും തിന്നിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ.
15 And [there was] a voice again the second time to him, What God has cleansed, do not thou make common.
ആ ശബ്ദം രണ്ടാംപ്രാവശ്യം അവനോടു: ദൈവം ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചതു നീ മലിനമെന്നു വിചാരിക്കരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
16 And this took place thrice, and the vessel was straightway taken up into heaven.
ഇങ്ങനെ മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം ഉണ്ടായി; ഉടനെ പാത്രം തിരികെ ആകാശത്തിലേക്കു വലിച്ചെടുത്തു.
17 And as Peter doubted in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold also the men who were sent by Cornelius, having sought out the house of Simon, stood at the gate,
ഈ കണ്ട ദൎശനം എന്തായിരിക്കും എന്നു പത്രൊസ് ഉള്ളിൽ ചഞ്ചലിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കൊൎന്നേല്യൊസ് അയച്ച പുരുഷന്മാർ ശിമോന്റെ വീടു ചോദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പടിവാതിൽക്കൽ നിന്നു:
18 and having called [some one], they inquired if Simon who was surnamed Peter was lodged there.
പത്രൊസ് എന്നു മറു പേരുള്ള ശിമോൻ ഇവിടെ പാൎക്കുന്നുണ്ടോഎന്നു വിളിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചു.
19 But as Peter continued pondering over the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men seek thee;
പത്രൊസ് ദൎശനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ചിന്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ആത്മാവു അവനോടു: മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാർ നിന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു;
20 but rise up, go down, and go with them, nothing doubting, because I have sent them.
നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലുക; ഞാൻ അവരെ അയച്ചതാകകൊണ്ടു ഒന്നും സംശയിക്കാതെ അവരോടു കൂടെ പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
21 And Peter going down to the men said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause for which ye come?
പത്രൊസ് ആ പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവൻ ഞാൻ തന്നെ; നിങ്ങൾ വന്ന സംഗതി എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
22 And they said, Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man, and fearing God, and borne witness to by the whole nation of the Jews, has been divinely instructed by a holy angel to send for thee to his house, and hear words from thee.
അതിന്നു അവർ: നീതിമാനും ദൈവഭക്തനും യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ സകലജാതിയാലും നല്ല സാക്ഷ്യംകൊണ്ടവനും ആയ കൊൎന്നേല്യൊസ് എന്ന ശതാധിപന്നു നിന്നെ വീട്ടിൽ വരുത്തി നിന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേൾക്കേണം എന്നു ഒരു വിശുദ്ധദൂതനാൽ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
23 Having therefore invited them in, he lodged them. And on the morrow, rising up he went away with them, and certain of the brethren from Joppa went with him.
അവൻ അവരെ അകത്തു വിളിച്ചു പാൎപ്പിച്ചു; പിറ്റെന്നാൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരോടുകൂടെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു; യോപ്പയിലെ സഹോദരന്മാർ ചിലരും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോയി.
24 And on the morrow they came to Caesarea. But Cornelius was looking for them, having called together his kinsmen and [his] intimate friends.
പിറ്റെന്നാൾ കൈസൎയ്യയിൽ എത്തി; അവിടെ കൊൎന്നേല്യൊസ് ചാൎച്ചക്കാരെയും അടുത്ത സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെയും കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി, അവൎക്കായി കാത്തിരുന്നു.
25 And when Peter was now coming in, Cornelius met him, and falling down did [him] homage.
പത്രൊസ് അകത്തു കയറിയപ്പോൾ കൊൎന്നേല്യൊസ് എതിരേറ്റു അവന്റെ കാല്ക്കുൽ വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.
26 But Peter made him rise, saying, Rise up: I myself also am a man.
പത്രൊസോ: എഴുന്നേല്ക്കു, ഞാനും ഒരു മനുഷ്യനത്രെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു,
27 And he went in, talking with him, and found many gathered together.
അവനോടു സംഭാഷിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു അകത്തു ചെന്നു, അനേകർ വന്നു കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവനോടു:
28 And he said to them, Ye know how it is unlawful for a Jew to be joined or come to one of a strange race, and to me God has shewn to call no man common or unclean.
അന്യജാതിക്കാരന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലുന്നതും അവനുമായി പെരുമാറ്റം ചെയ്യുന്നതും യെഹൂദന്നു നിഷിദ്ധം എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ. എങ്കിലും ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെയും മലിനനോ അശുദ്ധനോ എന്നു പറയരുതെന്നു ദൈവം എനിക്കു കാണിച്ചു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
29 Wherefore also, having been sent for, I came without saying anything against it. I inquire therefore for what reason ye have sent for me.
അതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ആളയച്ചപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ എതിർ പറയാതെ വന്നതു; എന്നാൽ എന്നെ വിളിപ്പിച്ച സംഗതി എന്തു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞാൽ കൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I had been [fasting] unto this hour, and the ninth [I was] praying in my house, and lo, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
അതിന്നു കൊൎന്നേല്യൊസ്: നാലാകുന്നാൾ ഈ നേരത്തു ഞാൻ വീട്ടിൽ ഒമ്പതാം മണിനേരത്തെ പ്രാൎത്ഥന കഴിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ശുഭ്രവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചോരു പുരുഷൻ എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു:
31 and said, Cornelius, thy prayer has been heard, and thy alms have come in remembrance before God.
കൊൎന്നേല്യൊസേ, ദൈവം നിന്റെ പ്രാൎത്ഥന കേട്ടു നിന്റെ ധൎമ്മം ഓൎത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
32 Send therefore to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he lodges in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea [who when he is come will speak to thee].
യോപ്പയിലേക്കു ആളയച്ചു പത്രൊസ് എന്നു മറുപേരുള്ള ശിമോനെ വിളിപ്പിക്ക; അവൻ കടല്പുറത്തു തോൽക്കൊല്ലനായ ശീമോന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പാൎക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee, and thou hast well done in coming. Now therefore we are all present before God to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
ക്ഷണത്തിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു; നീ വന്നതു ഉപകാരം. കൎത്താവു നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും കേൾപ്പാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും ഇവിടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
34 And Peter opening his mouth said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons,
അപ്പോൾ പത്രൊസ് വായി തുറന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങിയതു: ദൈവത്തിന്നു മുഖപക്ഷമില്ല എന്നും
35 but in every nation he that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.
ഏതു ജാതിയിലും അവനെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു നീതി പ്രവൎത്തിക്കുന്നവനെ അവൻ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ യാഥാൎത്ഥമായി ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.
36 The word which he sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ, (he is Lord of all things, )
അവൻ എല്ലാവരുടെയും കൎത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുമൂലം സമാധാനം സുവിശേഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾക്കു അയച്ച വചനം,
37 ye know; the testimony which has spread through the whole of Judaea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism which John preached —
യോഹന്നാൻ പ്രസംഗിച്ച സ്നാനത്തിന്റെശേഷം ഗലീലയിൽ തുടങ്ങി യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ ഒക്കെയും ഉണ്ടായ വൎത്തമാനം,
38 Jesus who [was] of Nazareth: how God anointed him with [the] Holy Spirit and with power; who went through [all quarters] doing good, and healing all that were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെ ദൈവം പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാലും ശക്തിയാലും അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തതും ദൈവം അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ നന്മചെയ്തും പിശാചു ബാധിച്ചവരെ ഒക്കെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയുംകൊണ്ടു സഞ്ചരിച്ചതുമായ വിവരം തന്നേ നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.
39 We also [are] witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they also slew, having hanged him on a cross.
യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും അവൻ ചെയ്ത സകലത്തിനും ഞങ്ങൾ സാക്ഷികൾ ആകുന്നു. അവനെ അവർ മരത്തിന്മേൽ തൂക്കിക്കൊന്നു;
40 This [man] God raised up the third day and gave him to be openly seen,
ദൈവം അവനെ മൂന്നാം നാൾ ഉയിൎത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു,
41 not of all the people, but of witnesses who were chosen before of God, us who have eaten and drunk with him after he arose from among [the] dead.
സകല ജനത്തിന്നുമല്ല, ദൈവം മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി നിയമിച്ച സാക്ഷികളായി, അവൻ മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്നു ഉയിൎത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റശേഷം അവനോടുകൂടെ തിന്നുകുടിച്ചവരായ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നേ പ്രത്യക്ഷനാക്കിത്തന്നു.
42 And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that he it is who was determinately appointed of God [to be] judge of living and dead.
ജീവികൾക്കും മരിച്ചവൎക്കും ന്യായാധിപതിയായി ദൈവത്താൽ നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ അവൻ തന്നേ എന്നു ജനത്തോടു പ്രസംഗിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിപ്പാൻ അവൻ ഞങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചു.
43 To him all the prophets bear witness that every one that believes on him will receive through his name remission of sins.
അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവന്നും അവന്റെ നാമം മൂലം പാപമോചനം ലഭിക്കും എന്നു സകല പ്രവാചകന്മാരും സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.
44 While Peter was yet speaking these words the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were hearing the word.
ഈ വാക്കുകളെ പത്രൊസ് പ്രസ്താവിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ വചനം കേട്ട എല്ലാവരുടെ മേലും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു വന്നു.
45 And the faithful of the circumcision were astonished, as many as came with Peter, that upon the nations also the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out:
അവർ അന്യഭാഷകളിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതും ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വീകരിക്കുന്നതും കേൾക്കയാൽ
46 for they heard them speaking with tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,
പത്രൊസിനോടുകൂടെ വന്ന പരിച്ഛേദനക്കാരായ വിശ്വാസികൾ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു എന്ന ദാനം ജാതികളുടെ മേലും പകൎന്നതു കണ്ടു വിസ്മയിച്ചു.
47 Can any one forbid water that these should not be baptised, who have received the Holy Spirit as we also [did]?
നമ്മെപ്പോലെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ലഭിച്ച ഇവരെ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു കൂടാതവണ്ണം വെള്ളം വിലക്കുവാൻ ആൎക്കു കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
48 And he commanded them to be baptised in the name of the Lord. Then they begged him to stay some days.
പത്രൊസ് അവരെ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിപ്പാൻ കല്പിച്ചു. അവൻ ചില ദിവസം അവിടെ താമസിക്കേണം എന്നു അവർ അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
