Acts 10
1 But a certain man in Caesarea, — by name Cornelius, a centurion of the band called Italic,
೧ಕೈಸರೈಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಇತಾಲ್ಯ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಕೊರ್ನೆಲ್ಯನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿದ್ದನು.
2 pious, and fearing God with all his house, [both] giving much alms to the people, and supplicating God continually,
೨ಅವನು ದೈವಭಕ್ತನೂ, ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ಜನರಿಗೆ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ದಾನಧರ್ಮಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ದೇವರಿಗೆ ನಿತ್ಯವೂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು.
3 — saw plainly in a vision, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming unto him, and saying to him, Cornelius.
೩ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ಸುಮಾರು ಮೂರು ಘಂಟೆಗೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ದರ್ಶನ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ದೇವದೂತನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು; “ಕೊರ್ನೆಲ್ಯನೇ” ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುವುದನ್ನು ಅವನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಾಗಿ ಕಂಡನು.
4 But he, having fixed his eyes upon him, and become full of fear, said, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, Thy prayers and thine alms have gone up for a memorial before God.
೪ಅವನು ಆ ದೂತನನ್ನು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿನೋಡಿ ಭಯಹಿಡಿದವನಾಗಿ; “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಇದೇನು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು, ಆ ದೂತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ; “ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ದಾನಧರ್ಮಗಳೂ ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾಪರ್ಥಕವಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ತಲುಪಿದೆ.
5 And now send men to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter.
೫ಈಗ ನೀನು ಯೊಪ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, ಪೇತ್ರನೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸೀಮೋನನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಬೇಕು.
6 He lodges with a certain Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.
೬ಅವನು ಚಮ್ಮಾರನಾದ ಸೀಮೋನನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಈ ಸೀಮೋನನ ಮನೆಯು ಸಮುದ್ರತೀರದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
7 And when the angel who was speaking to him had departed, having called two of his household and a pious soldier of those who were constantly with him,
೭ಕೊರ್ನೇಲ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ದೇವದೂತನು ಹೊರಟುಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ, ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಇರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ದೈವಭಕ್ತನನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದು,
8 and related all things to them, he sent them to Joppa.
೮ಅವರಿಗೆ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಯೊಪ್ಪ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
9 And on the morrow, as these were journeying and drawing near to the city, Peter went up on the house to pray, about the sixth hour.
೯ಮರುದಿನ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಸುಮಾರು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಹಡಿಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದನು.
10 And he became hungry and desired to eat. But as they were making ready an ecstasy came upon him:
೧೦ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಹಸಿವಾಗಿ ಊಟಮಾಡ ಬಯಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ,
11 and he beholds the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as a great sheet, [bound] by [the] four corners [and] let down to the earth;
೧೧ಅವನು ಧ್ಯಾನಪರವಶನಾಗಿ ಆಕಾಶವು ತೆರೆದಿರುವುದನ್ನೂ, ನಾಲ್ಕು ಮೂಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜೋಳಿಗೆಯಂತಿರುವ ಒಂದು ವಸ್ತುವು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಳಿಯುವುದನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡನು.
12 in which were all the quadrupeds and creeping things of the earth, and the fowls of the heaven.
೧೨ಅದರೊಳಗೆ ಸಕಲ ವಿಧವಾದ ಪಶುಗಳೂ, ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹರಿದಾಡುವ ಕ್ರಿಮಿಕೀಟಗಳೂ, ಅಂತರಿಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾರಾಡುವ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳೂ ಇದ್ದವು.
13 And there was a voice to him, Rise, Peter, slay and eat.
೧೩ಆಗ; “ಪೇತ್ರನೇ, ಎದ್ದು, ಕೊಯ್ದು ತಿನ್ನು” ಎಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ವಾಣಿ ಕೇಳಿಸಿತು.
14 And Peter said, In no wise, Lord; for I have never eaten anything common or unclean.
೧೪ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪೇತ್ರನು; “ಬೇಡವೇ ಬೇಡ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಾನು ಎಂದೂ ಹೊಲೆ ಪದಾರ್ಥವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾದವುಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ತಿಂದವನಲ್ಲ” ಅಂದನು.
15 And [there was] a voice again the second time to him, What God has cleansed, do not thou make common.
೧೫ಅದಕ್ಕೆ; “ದೇವರು ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೀನು ಹೊಲೆ ಎನ್ನಬಾರದೆಂದು” ಪುನಃ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಾಣಿ ಕೇಳಿಸಿತು.
16 And this took place thrice, and the vessel was straightway taken up into heaven.
೧೬ಹೀಗೆ ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ಆಯಿತು. ಆದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ವಸ್ತುವು ಆಕಾಶದೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡಿತು.
17 And as Peter doubted in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold also the men who were sent by Cornelius, having sought out the house of Simon, stood at the gate,
೧೭ಪೇತ್ರನು ತನಗಾದ ದರ್ಶನವು ಏನಾಗಿರಬಹುದೆಂದು ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳವಳ ಪಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ, ಆಗೋ, ಕೊರ್ನೆಲ್ಯನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಸೀಮೋನನ ಮನೆ ಯಾವುದು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಆ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು;
18 and having called [some one], they inquired if Simon who was surnamed Peter was lodged there.
೧೮ಪೇತ್ರನೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸೀಮೋನನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೋ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಕೇಳಿದರು.
19 But as Peter continued pondering over the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men seek thee;
೧೯ಪೇತ್ರನು ಆ ದರ್ಶನದ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ಯೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಲು ದೇವರಾತ್ಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ; “ಅಗೋ, ಮೂವರು ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ;
20 but rise up, go down, and go with them, nothing doubting, because I have sent them.
೨೦ನೀನೆದ್ದು ಕೆಳಗಿಳಿದು ಏನೂ ಸಂಶಯಪಡದೆ ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗು; ನಾನೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
21 And Peter going down to the men said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause for which ye come?
೨೧ಪೇತ್ರನು ಕೆಳಗಿಳಿದು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು; “ಇಗೋ, ನೀವು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವವನು ನಾನೇ; ನೀವು ಬಂದ ಕಾರಣವೇನು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು,
22 And they said, Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man, and fearing God, and borne witness to by the whole nation of the Jews, has been divinely instructed by a holy angel to send for thee to his house, and hear words from thee.
೨೨ಅವರು; “ಕೊರ್ನೆಲ್ಯನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವನು ನೀತಿವಂತನೂ, ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವವನೂ, ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರಿಂದ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಹೆಸರು ಹೊಂದಿದವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿ ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೇವದೂತನ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
23 Having therefore invited them in, he lodged them. And on the morrow, rising up he went away with them, and certain of the brethren from Joppa went with him.
೨೩ಪೇತ್ರನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಒಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದು ಉಪಚರಿಸಿದನು. ಮರುದಿನ ಅವನು ಎದ್ದು ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರಟನು; ಯೊಪ್ಪ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸಹೋದರರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಅವನ ಕೂಡ ಹೋದರು.
24 And on the morrow they came to Caesarea. But Cornelius was looking for them, having called together his kinsmen and [his] intimate friends.
೨೪ಮರುದಿನ ಅವನು ಕೈಸರೈಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಸೇರಿದನು. ಕೊರ್ನೆಲ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಬಂಧುಬಳಗದವರನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅಪ್ತಮಿತ್ರರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಪೇತ್ರನಿಗಾಗಿ ಎದುರುನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
25 And when Peter was now coming in, Cornelius met him, and falling down did [him] homage.
೨೫ಪೇತ್ರನು ಬಂದಾಗ ಕೊರ್ನೆಲ್ಯನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಪಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
26 But Peter made him rise, saying, Rise up: I myself also am a man.
೨೬ಆದರೆ ಪೇತ್ರನು; “ಏಳು, ನಾನೂ ಸಹಾ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ,
27 And he went in, talking with him, and found many gathered together.
೨೭ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಮನೆಯೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು.
28 And he said to them, Ye know how it is unlawful for a Jew to be joined or come to one of a strange race, and to me God has shewn to call no man common or unclean.
೨೮ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹು ಜನರು ಸೇರಿ ಬಂದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ; “ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು, ಅನ್ಯ ಜನರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು, ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವ್ಯವಹರಿಸುವುದು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಷಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ. ನನಗಂತೂ ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನೂ ಹೊಲೆಯಾದವನು, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧನು ಎಂದು ಅನ್ನಬಾರದೆಂದು ದೇವರು ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
29 Wherefore also, having been sent for, I came without saying anything against it. I inquire therefore for what reason ye have sent for me.
೨೯ಆದಕಾರಣ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾಗ ನಾನು ಯಾವ ಎದುರುಮಾತನ್ನೂ ಆಡದೆ ಬಂದೆನು. ಈಗ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿದ ಉದ್ದೇಶವೇನು ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I had been [fasting] unto this hour, and the ninth [I was] praying in my house, and lo, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
೩೦ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊರ್ನೇಲ್ಯನು; “ನಾನು ನಾಲ್ಕು ದಿನಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಇದೇ ಹೊತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರನೇ ಗಳಿಗೆಯ ದೇವರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಹೊಳೆಯುವ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನನ್ನೆದುರಿಗೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು;
31 and said, Cornelius, thy prayer has been heard, and thy alms have come in remembrance before God.
೩೧ಕೊರ್ನೆಲ್ಯನೇ ‘ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ದೇವರು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ದಾನಧರ್ಮಗಳು ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬಂದವು.
32 Send therefore to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he lodges in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea [who when he is come will speak to thee].
೩೨ನೀನು ಯಾರನ್ನಾದರು ಯೊಪ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಪೇತ್ರನೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸೀಮೋನನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಬೇಕು, ಅವನು ಚಮ್ಮಾರನಾದ ಸೀಮೋನನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆ ಮನೆ ಸಮುದ್ರ ತೀರದ ಸಮೀಪವಿದೆ’ ಅಂದನು.
33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee, and thou hast well done in coming. Now therefore we are all present before God to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
೩೩ನಾನು ತಡಮಾಡದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದೆನು. ನೀವು ಬಂದದ್ದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಯಿತು. ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರು ಈಗ ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಬಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆ” ಅಂದನು.
34 And Peter opening his mouth said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons,
೩೪ಆಗ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಉಪದೇಶಮಾಡಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ; “ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ, ದೇವರು ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತಿಯಲ್ಲ,
35 but in every nation he that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.
೩೫ಯಾವ ಜನಾಂಗದವರೇ ಆಗಲಿ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ನೀತಿಯನ್ನು ನಡಿಸುವವರು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಗೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ಈಗ ಸಂದೇಹವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿದೆ.
36 The word which he sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ, (he is Lord of all things, )
೩೬ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಿಗೂ ಕರ್ತನಾಗಿರುವ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮೂಲಕ ದೇವರು ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಶುಭಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನಿಮಗೇ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ.
37 ye know; the testimony which has spread through the whole of Judaea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism which John preached —
೩೭ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಯೋಹಾನನು ಸಾರಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಗಲಿಲಾಯದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಿ, ಯೂದಾಯದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಬಲವಾಯಿತು.
38 Jesus who [was] of Nazareth: how God anointed him with [the] Holy Spirit and with power; who went through [all quarters] doing good, and healing all that were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
೩೮ದೇವರು ನಜರೇತಿನ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮದಿಂದಲೂ, ಬಲದಿಂದಲೂ ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿದನು; ದೇವರು ಆತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ; ಸೈತಾನನಿಂದ ಬಾಧಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರನ್ನು ಗುಣಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಸಂಚರಿಸಿದನು; ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಿರುವ ಸಂಗತಿಯೇ.
39 We also [are] witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they also slew, having hanged him on a cross.
೩೯ಆತನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ನಾವು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
40 This [man] God raised up the third day and gave him to be openly seen,
೪೦ಆತನನ್ನು ಮರದ ಕಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ತೂಗುಹಾಕಿ ಕೊಂದರು. ದೇವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ, ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
41 not of all the people, but of witnesses who were chosen before of God, us who have eaten and drunk with him after he arose from among [the] dead.
೪೧ಆತನು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾಗದೆ, ದೇವರು ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳಾದ ನಮಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾದನು. ಆತನು ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಜೀವಿತನಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾವು ಆತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಿದೆವು.
42 And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that he it is who was determinately appointed of God [to be] judge of living and dead.
೪೨ಆತನೇ ಜೀವವಿರುವವರಿಗೂ, ಸತ್ತವರಿಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾಗಿ ದೇವರಿಂದ ನೇಮಕವಾದವನು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸಾರಿ, ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ದೇವರು ನಮಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
43 To him all the prophets bear witness that every one that believes on him will receive through his name remission of sins.
೪೩ಆತನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಡುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಆತನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪ ಕ್ಷಮಾಪಣೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವನೆಂದು ಆತನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ” ಅಂದನು.
44 While Peter was yet speaking these words the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were hearing the word.
೪೪ಪೇತ್ರನು, ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ, ಅವನ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನು ಇಳಿದನು.
45 And the faithful of the circumcision were astonished, as many as came with Peter, that upon the nations also the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out:
೪೫ಅವರು ನಾನಾ ಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ಪೇತ್ರನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಾದ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳು ನೋಡಿ,
46 for they heard them speaking with tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,
೪೬ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳಿಗೂ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನ ದಾನವಾಯಿತಲ್ಲಾ ಎಂದು ಅತ್ಯಾಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
47 Can any one forbid water that these should not be baptised, who have received the Holy Spirit as we also [did]?
೪೭ನಡೆದ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಪೇತ್ರನು ನೋಡಿ; “ನಮ್ಮ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮವರವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ ಇವರಿಗೆ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನವಾಗದಂತೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಪಡಿಸುವವರು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ,
48 And he commanded them to be baptised in the name of the Lord. Then they begged him to stay some days.
೪೮ನೀವು ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವು ದಿನ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
