2 Samuel 9
1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?
David disse: “Ainda há alguém que restou da casa de Saul, para que eu possa mostrar-lhe bondade pelo bem de Jonathan”?
2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba; and they called him to David. And the king said to him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant!
There era da casa de Saul um servo cujo nome era Ziba, e o chamaram para Davi; e o rei lhe disse: “Você é Ziba? Ele disse: “Eu sou seu servo”.
3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God to him? And Ziba said to the king, Jonathan has yet a son, who is lame on [his] feet.
O rei disse: “Ainda não existe nenhuma casa de Saul, para que eu possa mostrar-lhe a bondade de Deus”? Ziba disse ao rei: “Jonathan ainda tem um filho, que é coxo em seus pés”.
4 And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.
O rei disse-lhe: “Onde ele está?” Ziba disse ao rei: “Eis que ele está na casa de Machir, o filho de Ammiel, em Lo Debar”.
5 And king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.
Então o rei David enviou e o trouxe para fora da casa de Machir o filho de Ammiel, de Lo Debar.
6 And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face and did obeisance. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he said, Behold thy servant!
Mephibosheth, o filho de Jonathan, o filho de Saul, veio a David, caiu de cara e mostrou respeito. David disse: “Mephibosheth?”. Ele respondeu: “Eis o seu servo!”
7 And David said to him, Fear not; for I will certainly shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
David disse-lhe: “Não tenha medo, pois certamente lhe mostrarei bondade por Jonathan, seu pai, e lhe restituirei toda a terra de Saul, seu pai”. Comereis pão à minha mesa continuamente”.
8 And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?
Ele se curvou, e disse: “O que é seu criado, que você deveria olhar para um cão morto como eu”?
9 Then the king called Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, I have given to thy master's son all that belonged to Saul and to all his house.
Então o rei chamou Ziba, servo de Saul, e disse-lhe: “Tudo o que pertencia a Saul e a toda a sua casa eu dei ao filho de seu senhor”.
10 And thou, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in [the fruits], that thy master's son may have food to eat. And Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread at my table continually. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
Até a terra para ele - você, seus filhos e seus servos. Traga a colheita, para que o filho de seu senhor possa ter pão para comer; mas Mephibosheth, o filho de seu senhor, sempre comerá pão à minha mesa”. Agora Ziba tinha quinze filhos e vinte criados.
11 And Ziba said to the king, According to all that my lord the king has commanded his servant, so will thy servant do. And Mephibosheth [said David] shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.
Então Ziba disse ao rei: “De acordo com tudo o que meu senhor, o rei, comanda seu servo, assim fará seu servo”. Então Mephibosheth comeu na mesa do rei como um dos filhos do rei.
12 And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Mica. And all who dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants to Mephibosheth.
Mephibosheth tinha um filho jovem, cujo nome era Mica. Todos os que viviam na casa de Ziba eram servos de Mephibosheth.
13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem; for he did eat continually at the king's table. And he was lame on both his feet.
Então Mephibosheth vivia em Jerusalém, pois ele comia continuamente na mesa do rei. Ele era coxo em ambos os pés.
