2 Samuel 5
1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David to Hebron, and spoke, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
Entonces todas las tribus de Israel vinieron a David en Hebrón y dijeron: En verdad, somos tu hueso y tu carne.
2 Even aforetime, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel; and Jehovah said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over Israel.
En el pasado, cuando Saúl era rey sobre nosotros, eras tú a la cabeza de Israel cuando salían o entraban. Y el Señor te dijo: Tú debes ser el guardián de mi pueblo, Israel y su gobernante.
3 And all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah; and they anointed David king over Israel.
Entonces todos los responsables de Israel vinieron al rey en Hebrón; y el rey David llegó a un acuerdo con ellos en Hebrón delante del Señor; y lo ungieron a David y lo hicieron rey sobre Israel.
4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign; he reigned forty years.
David tenía treinta años cuando comenzó a reinar, y fue rey durante cuarenta años.
5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.
Fue rey sobre Judá en Hebrón durante siete años y seis meses, y en Jerusalén, sobre todo Israel y Judá, durante treinta y tres años.
6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land; and they spoke to David, saying, Thou shalt not come in hither, but the blind and the lame will drive thee back; as much as to say, David will not come in hither.
Y el rey y sus hombres fueron a Jerusalén contra los jebuseos, la gente de la tierra; y dijeron a David: No entrarás aquí; sino que los ciegos y los cojos te mantendrán fuera; porque dijeron: David no podrá entrar aquí.
7 But David took the stronghold of Zion, which is the city of David.
Pero David tomó el lugar fuerte de Sión, que es el pueblo de David.
8 And David said on that day, Whoever smites the Jebusites and gets up to the watercourse, and the lame and the blind hated of David's soul...! Therefore they say, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
Y aquel día, David dijo: Quien haga un ataque a los jebuseos, déjalo subir por la tubería y mata a todos los ciegos y cojos que son odiados por David. Y es por eso que dicen: Los ciegos y los cojos pies débiles pueden no entrar al templo del Señor.
9 So David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from the Millo and inward.
Entonces David tomó la torre fuerte para su lugar de vida, y la llamó pueblo de David. Y David construyó murallas alrededor, desde él milo hacia adentro.
10 And David became continually greater; and Jehovah the God of hosts was with him.
Y David se hizo cada vez más grande; porque el Señor, el Dios de los ejércitos, estaba con él.
11 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.
E Hiram, rey de Tiro, envió hombres a David, con cedros, carpinteros y canteros; y construyeron el palacio de David.
12 And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom because of his people Israel.
Y David vio que él Señor había salvado su posición de rey sobre Israel, y que había engrandecido su reino en atención a su pueblo Israel.
13 And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron; and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
Después de que él viniera de Hebrón, David tomó más mujeres y esposas en Jerusalén, y tuvo más hijos e hijas.
14 And these are the names of those that were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
Estos son los nombres de aquellos cuyo nacimiento tuvo lugar en Jerusalén: Samúa y Sobab y Natán y Salomón,
15 and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
E Ibhar, Elisua, Nefeg, y Jafia,
16 and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet.
Y Elisama, Eliada y Elifelet.
17 And the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard [of it], and went down to the stronghold.
Y cuando los filisteos tuvieron noticias de que David había sido hecho rey sobre Israel, todos subieron en busca de David; y David, oyéndolo, descendió a la fortaleza.
18 And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
Y cuando llegaron los filisteos, fueron en todas direcciones en el valle de Refaim.
19 And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt thou give them into my hand? And Jehovah said to David, Go up; for I will certainly give the Philistines into thy hand.
Y David, deseando instrucciones del Señor, dijo: ¿Debo subir contra los filisteos? ¿Los entregarás en mis manos? Y el Señor dijo: Sube, porque ciertamente entregaré a los filisteos en tus manos.
20 And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, Jehovah has broken in upon mine enemies before me, as the breaking forth of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
Entonces David fue a Baal-perazim y los venció allí; y él dijo: El Señor ha dejado que las fuerzas que luchan contra mí se rompan ante mí como se rompe un muro por las aguas que corren. Así que ese lugar se llamaba Baal-perazim.
21 And they left their images there, and David and his men took them away.
Y cuando los filisteos huyeron, no se llevaron sus imágenes con ellos, y David y sus hombres se los llevaron.
22 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
Y volvieron los filisteos otra vez, y se fueron en todas direcciones en el valle de Refaim.
23 And David inquired of Jehovah; and he said, Thou shalt not go up; turn round behind them and come upon them opposite the mulberry-trees.
Y cuando David fue en dirección al Señor, él le dijo: No debes subir contra ellos delante de ellos; pero haz un círculo alrededor de ellos desde la parte posterior y ven sobre ellos frente a los árboles de especias.
24 And it shall be, when thou hearest a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself; for then will Jehovah have gone forth before thee, to smite the army of the Philistines.
Luego, al oír un ruido como de pasos en las copas de los árboles, avanza rápidamente, porque el Señor ha salido delante de ti para vencer al ejército de los filisteos.
25 And David did so, as Jehovah had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou comest to Gezer.
E hizo David como él Señor le había dicho; y venció a los filisteos, atacándolos desde Gabaón hasta cerca de Gezer.
