2 Samuel 3
1 And the war was long between the house of Saul and the house of David; but David became continually stronger, and the house of Saul became continually weaker.
Und es war ein langer Streit zwischen dem Hause Sauls und dem Hause Davids. David aber ging und nahm zu; und das Haus Sauls ging und nahm ab.
2 And to David were sons born in Hebron: his firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jizreelitess;
Und es wurden David Kinder geboren zu Hebron: Sein erstgeborner Sohn Amnon von Ahinoam, der Jesreelitin;
3 and his second, Chileab, of Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Absalom the son of Maachah, daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;
der andere: Chileab von Abigail, Nabals Weib, des Karmeliten; der dritte: Absalom, der Sohn Maachas, der Tochter Thalmais, des Königs zu Gesur;
4 and the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith; and the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;
der vierte Adonia, der Sohn Hagiths; der fünfte: Saphatja, der Sohn Abitals;
5 and the sixth, Ithream, of Eglah David's wife. These were born to David in Hebron.
der sechste: Jethream von Egla, dem Weibe Davids. Diese sind David geboren zu Hebron.
6 And it came to pass while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner made himself strong for the house of Saul.
Als nun der Streit war zwischen dem Hause Sauls und dem Hause Davids, stärkte Abner das Haus Sauls.
7 And Saul had a concubine whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah. And [Ishbosheth] said to Abner, Why hast thou gone in to my father's concubine?
Und Saul hatte ein Kebsweib, die hieß Rizpa, eine Tochter Ajas. Und Isboseth sprach zu Abner: Warum schläfst du bei meines Vaters Kebsweib?
8 Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ishbosheth, and said, Am I a dog's head, I who against Judah do shew kindness this day to the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou reproachest me this day with the fault of this woman?
Da ward Abner sehr zornig über diese Worte Isboseths und sprach: Bin ich denn ein Hundskopf, der ich wider Juda an dem Hause Sauls, deines Vaters, und an seinen Brüdern und Freunden Barmherzigkeit tue und habe dich nicht in Davids Hände gegeben? Und du rechnest mir heute eine Missetat zu um ein Weib?
9 So do God to Abner, and more also, if, as Jehovah has sworn to David, I do not so to him;
Gott tue Abner dies und das, wenn ich nicht tue, wie der HERR David geschworen hat,
10 to translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer-sheba!
daß das Königreich vom Hause Sauls genommen werde, und der Stuhl Davids aufgerichtet werde über Israel und Juda von Dan bis gen Berseba.
11 And he could not answer Abner a word again, because he feared him.
Da konnte er fürder ihm kein Wort mehr antworten, so fürchtete er sich vor ihm.
12 And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying [also], Make thy covenant with me, and behold, my hand shall be with thee, to turn all Israel to thee.
Und Abner sandte Boten zu David für sich und ließ ihm sagen: Wes ist das Land? Und sprach: Mache deinen Bund mit mir; siehe, meine Hand soll mit dir sein, daß ich zu dir kehre das ganze Israel.
13 And he said, Well, I will make a covenant with thee; only I require one thing of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul's daughter, when thou comest to see my face.
Er sprach: Wohl, ich will einen Bund mit dir machen. Aber eins bitte ich von dir, daß du mein Angesicht nicht sehest, du bringest denn zuvor zu mir Michal, Sauls Tochter, wenn du kommst, mein Angesicht zu sehen.
14 And David sent messengers to Ishbosheth Saul's son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, whom I espoused to me for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.
Auch sandte David Boten zu Isboseth, dem Sohn Sauls, und ließ ihm sagen: Gib mir mein Weib Michal, die ich mir vertrauet habe mit hundert Vorhäuten der Philister.
15 And Ishbosheth sent, and took her from [her] husband, from Phaltiel the son of Laish.
Isboseth sandte hin und ließ sie nehmen von dem Manne Paltiel, dem Sohn Lais.
16 And her husband went with her along weeping behind her to Bahurim. Then said Abner to him, Go, return. And he returned.
Und ihr Mann ging mit ihr und weinete hinter ihr bis gen Bahurim. Da sprach Abner zu ihm: Kehre um und gehe hin. Und er kehrete um.
17 Now Abner had communicated with the elders of Israel, saying, Ye sought for David aforetime to be king over you;
Und Abner hatte eine Rede mit den Ältesten in Israel und sprach: Ihr habt vorhin längst nach David getrachtet, daß er König wäre über euch.
18 and now do [it], for Jehovah has spoken of David, saying, By my servant David will I save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.
So tut es nun; denn der HERR hat von David gesagt: Ich will mein Volk Israel erretten durch die Hand Davids, meines Knechts, von der Philister Hand und von aller ihrer Feinde Hand.
19 And Abner also spoke in the ears of Benjamin; and Abner went also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and that seemed good to the whole house of Benjamin.
Auch redete Abner vor den Ohren Benjamins; und ging auch hin zu reden vor den Ohren Davids zu Hebron alles, was Israel und dem ganzen Hause Benjamin wohlgefiel.
20 So Abner came to David to Hebron, and twenty men with him. And David made Abner and the men that were with him a repast.
Da nun Abner gen Hebron zu David kam, und mit ihm zwanzig Mann, machte ihnen David ein Mahl.
21 And Abner said to David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel to my lord the king, that they may make a covenant with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thy heart desires. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.
Und Abner sprach zu David: Ich will mich aufmachen und hingehen, daß ich das ganze Israel zu meinem HERRN, dem Könige, sammle, und daß sie einen Bund mit dir machen, auf daß du König seiest, wie es deine Seele begehret. Also ließ David Abner von sich, daß er hinginge mit Frieden.
22 And behold, the servants of David and Joab came from an expedition, and brought in a great spoil with them; but Abner was no longer with David in Hebron, for he had sent him away, and he had gone in peace.
Und siehe, die Knechte Davids und Joab kamen von den Kriegsleuten und brachten mit sich einen großen Raub. Abner aber war nun nicht bei David zu Hebron, sondern er hatte ihn von sich gelassen, daß er mit Frieden weggegangen war.
23 And Joab and all the host that was with him came; and they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he has sent him away; and he is gone in peace.
Da aber Joab und das ganze Heer mit ihm war kommen, ward ihm angesagt, daß Abner, der Sohn Ners, zum Könige kommen war, und er hatte ihn von sich gelassen, daß er mit Frieden war weggegangen.
24 Then Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came to thee; why is it [that] thou hast sent him away, and he is gone?
Da ging Joab zum Könige hinein und sprach: Was hast du getan? Siehe, Abner ist zu dir kommen; warum hast du ihn von dir gelassen, daß er ist weggegangen?
25 Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.
Kennest du Abner, den Sohn Ners, nicht? Denn er ist kommen, dich zu überreden, daß er erkennete deinen Ausgang und Eingang und erführe alles, was du tust.
26 And when Joab was come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, who brought him again from the well of Sirah; but David did not know it.
Und da Joab von David ausging, sandte er Boten Abner nach, daß sie ihn wiederum holeten von Borhasira; und David wußte nichts drum.
27 And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him secretly, and smote him there in the belly, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.
Als nun Abner wieder gen Hebron kam, führete ihn Joab mitten unter das Tor, daß er heimlich mit ihm redete; und stach ihn daselbst in den Wanst, daß er starb, um seines Bruders Asahel Bluts willen.
28 And afterwards David heard [it], and he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before Jehovah for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:
Da das David hernach erfuhr, sprach er: Ich bin unschuldig und mein Königreich vor dem HERRN ewiglich an dem Blute Abners, des Sohnes Ners.
29 let it fall on the head of Joab, and on all his father's house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that has an issue, or that is a leper, or that leans on a staff, or that falls by the sword, or that lacks bread!
Es falle aber auf den Kopf Joabs und auf seines Vaters ganzes Haus; und müsse nicht aufhören im Hause Joabs, der einen Eiterfluß und Aussatz habe und am Stabe gehe und durch das Schwert falle und an Brot mangele.
30 So Joab and Abishai his brother killed Abner, because he had slain their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle.
Also erwürgeten Joab und sein Bruder Abisai Abner, darum daß er ihren Bruder Asahel getötet hatte im Streit zu Gibeon.
31 And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your garments, and gird yourselves with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And king David followed the bier.
David aber sprach zu Joab und allem Volk, das mit ihm war: Zerreißet eure Kleider und gürtet Säcke um euch und traget Leid um Abner! Und der König ging dem Sarge nach.
32 And they buried Abner in Hebron; and the king lifted up his voice and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.
Und da sie Abner begruben zu Hebron, hub der König seine Stimme auf und weinete bei dem Grabe Abners, und weinete auch alles Volk.
33 And the king lamented over Abner, and said, Should Abner die as a fool dieth?
Und der König klagte Abner und sprach: Abner ist nicht gestorben, wie ein Tor stirbt.
34 Thy hands were not bound, Nor thy feet put into fetters; As a man falleth before wicked men, Fellest thou! And all the people wept again over him.
Deine Hände sind nicht gebunden, deine Füße sind nicht in Fesseln gesetzt; du bist gefallen, wie man vor bösen Buben fällt. Da beweinete ihn alles Volk noch mehr.
35 And all the people came to cause David to eat bread while it was yet day; but David swore, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread or aught else till the sun be down!
Da nun alles Volk hineinkam, mit David zu essen, da es noch hoch Tag war, schwur David und sprach: Gott tue mir dies und das, wo ich Brot oder etwas koste, ehe die Sonne untergehet.
36 And all the people remarked it, and it pleased them; as whatever the king did pleased all the people.
Und alles Volk erkannte es, und gefiel ihnen auch wohl alles Gute, was der König tat vor den Augen des ganzen Volks.
37 And all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to put Abner the son of Ner to death.
Und alles Volk und ganz Israel merkten des Tages, daß nicht vom Könige war, daß Abner, der Sohn Ners, getötet war.
38 And the king said to his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?
Und der König sprach zu seinen Knechten: Wisset ihr nicht, daß auf diesen Tag ein Fürst und Großer gefallen ist in Israel?
39 And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men, the sons of Zeruiah, are too hard for me: Jehovah reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness!
Ich aber bin noch zart und ein gesalbter König. Aber die Männer, die Kinder Zerujas, sind mir verdrießlich. Der HERR vergelte dem, der Böses tut, nach seiner Bosheit!
