2 Samuel 23
1 Now these are the last words of David: David the son of Jesse saith, And the man who was raised up on high, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel saith,
Ούτοι δε είναι οι λόγοι του Δαβίδ, οι τελευταίοι· ο Δαβίδ, ο υιός του Ιεσσαί, είπε, και ο ανήρ όστις ανεβιβάσθη εις ύψος, ο κεχρισμένος του Θεού του Ιακώβ και ο γλυκύς ψαλμωδός του Ισραήλ είπε,
2 The Spirit of Jehovah spoke by me, And his word was on my tongue.
Πνεύμα Κυρίου ελάλησε δι' εμού, και ο λόγος αυτού ήλθεν επί της γλώσσης μου.
3 The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me, The ruler among men shall be just, Ruling in the fear of God;
Ο Θεός του Ισραήλ είπε προς εμέ, ο Βράχος του Ισραήλ ελάλησεν, Ο εξουσιάζων επί ανθρώπους ας ήναι δίκαιος, εξουσιάζων μετά φόβου Θεού·
4 And [he shall be] as the light of the morning, [like] the rising of the sun, A morning without clouds; [When] from the sunshine, after rain, The green grass springeth from the earth.
Και θέλει είσθαι ως το φως της πρωΐας, όταν ανατέλλη ο ήλιος πρωΐας ανεφέλου, ως η εκ της γης χλόη από της λάμψεως της εκ της βροχής.
5 Although my house be not so before God, Yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, Ordered in every way and sure; For [this is] all my salvation, and every desire, Although he make [it] not to grow.
Αν και ο οίκός μου δεν είναι τοιούτος ενώπιον του Θεού, διαθήκην όμως αιώνιον έκαμε μετ' εμού, διατεταγμένην κατά πάντα και ασφαλή· όθεν τούτο είναι πάσα η σωτηρία μου και πάσα η επιθυμία· αν και δεν έκαμε να βλαστήση.
6 But [the sons] of Belial [are] all of them as thorns thrust away, Because they cannot be taken with hands;
Οι δε παράνομοι, πάντες ούτοι θέλουσιν είσθαι ως άκανθαι εξωσμέναι, διότι με χείρας δεν πιάνονται·
7 And the man that will touch them provideth himself with iron and the staff of a spear; And they shall be utterly burned with fire in [their] place.
Και όστις εγγίση αυτάς, πρέπει να ήναι ώπλισμένος με σίδηρον και με ξύλον λόγχης· και θέλουσι κατακαυθή εν πυρί εν τω αυτώ τόπω.
8 These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Joseb-Bassebeth, Tachkemonite the chief of the captains: he was Adino the Eznite; he [fought] against eight hundred, slain [by him] at one time.
Ταύτα είναι τα ονόματα των ισχυρών, τους οποίους είχεν ο Δαβίδ· Ιοσέβ-βασεβέθ ο Ταχμονίτης, πρώτος των τριών· ούτος ήτο Αδινώ ο Ασωναίος, όστις εθανάτωσεν οκτακοσίους εν μιά μάχη.
9 And after him, Eleazar the son of Dodo the son of an Ahohite: he was one of the three mighty men with David, when they had defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone up.
Και μετ' αυτόν, Ελεάζαρ ο υιός του Δωδώ, υιού του Αχωχί, εις εκ των τριών ισχυρών μετά του Δαβίδ, ότε ωνείδισαν τους Φιλισταίους τους εκεί συνηθροισμένους εις μάχην, και οι άνδρες Ισραήλ εσύρθησαν·
10 He arose and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave to the sword; and Jehovah wrought a great deliverance that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
ούτος σηκωθείς, επάταξε τους Φιλισταίους, εωσού απέκαμεν η χειρ αυτού και εκολλήθη η χειρ αυτού εις την μάχαιραν· και έκαμεν ο Κύριος σωτηρίαν μεγάλην εν τη ημέρα εκείνη, και ο λαός επέστρεψεν οπίσω αυτού μόνον διά να λαφυραγωγήση.
11 And after him, Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite: the Philistines were gathered into a troop, and there was there a plot of ground full of lentils, and the people had fled before the Philistines;
μετά δε τούτον Σαμμά, ο υιός του Αγαί, ο Αραρίτης· και οι μεν Φιλισταίοι είχον συναχθή εις σώμα, όπου ήτο μερίδιον αγρού πλήρες φακής, ο δε λαός έφυγεν από προσώπου των Φιλισταίων·
12 and he stood in the midst of the plot and delivered it, and smote the Philistines, and Jehovah wrought a great deliverance.
ούτος δε εστηλώθη εν τω μέσω του αγρού και υπερησπίσθη αυτόν, και επάταξε τους Φιλισταίους· και ο Κύριος έκαμε σωτηρίαν μεγάλην.
13 And three of the thirty chiefs went down, and came to David in the harvest time to the cave of Adullam, when the troop of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
Κατέβησαν έτι τρεις εκ των τριάκοντα αρχηγών και ήλθον προς τον Δαβίδ εν καιρώ θέρους εις το σπήλαιον Οδολλάμ· το δε στρατόπεδον των Φιλισταίων εστρατοπέδευσεν εν τη κοιλάδι Ραφαείμ.
14 And David was then in the stronghold; and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.
Και ο Δαβίδ ήτο τότε εν οχυρώματι, και η φρουρά των Φιλισταίων τότε εν Βηθλεέμ.
15 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me to drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is in the gate!
Και επεπόθησεν ο Δαβίδ ύδωρ και είπε, Τις ήθελε μοι δώσει να πίω ύδωρ εκ του φρέατος της Βηθλεέμ, του πλησίον της πύλης;
16 And the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, which is in the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; however he would not drink of it, but poured it out to Jehovah.
Και διέσχισαν οι τρεις ισχυροί το στρατόπεδον των Φιλισταίων και ήντλησαν ύδωρ εκ του φρέατος της Βηθλεέμ, του εν τη πύλη, και λαβόντες έφεραν προς τον Δαβίδ· δεν ηθέλησεν όμως να πίη, αλλ' έκαμεν αυτό σπονδήν εις τον Κύριον·
17 And he said, Be it far from me, Jehovah, that I should do this thing! is it not the blood of the men that went at the risk of their lives? Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
και είπε, Μη γένοιτο εις εμέ, Κύριε, να πράξω τούτο· το αίμα των ανδρών, των πορευθέντων μετά κινδύνου της ζωής αυτών, να πίω εγώ; Και δεν ηθέλησε να πίη. Ταύτα έκαμον οι τρεις ισχυροί.
18 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was the chief of three; and he brandished his spear against three hundred and slew them; and he had a name among the three.
Και Αβισαί, ο αδελφός του Ιωάβ, υιός της Σερουΐας, ήτο πρώτος των τριών· και ούτος σείων την λόγχην αυτού εναντίον τριακοσίων, εθανάτωσεν αυτούς και απέκτησεν όνομα μεταξύ των τριών.
19 Was he not most honourable of three? and he was their captain; but he did not attain to the [first] three.
Δεν εστάθη ούτος ο ενδοξότερος εκ των τριών; διά τούτο έγεινεν αρχηγός αυτών· δεν έφθασεν όμως μέχρι των τριών πρώτων.
20 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, son of a valiant man, great in exploits, of Kabzeel: he it was that smote two lions of Moab; and he went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day.
Και Βεναΐας, ο υιός του Ιωδαέ, υιός ανδρός δυνατού από Καβσεήλ, όστις έκαμε πολλά ανδραγαθήματα, ούτος επάταξε τους δύο λεοντώδεις άνδρας του Μωάβ· ούτος έτι κατέβη και επάταξε λέοντα εν μέσω του λάκκου εν ημέρα χιόνος.
21 He also smote the Egyptian, an imposing man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
Ούτος έτι επάταξε τον άνδρα τον Αιγύπτιον, άνδρα ώραίον· και εν τη χειρί του Αιγυπτίου ήτο λόγχη· εκείνος δε κατέβη προς αυτόν με ράβδον, και αρπάσας την λόγχην εκ της χειρός του Αιγυπτίου, εθανάτωσεν αυτόν διά της ιδίας αυτού λόγχης.
22 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and he had a name among the three mighty men.
Ταύτα έκαμε Βεναΐας, ο υιός του Ιωδαέ, και απέκτησεν όνομα μεταξύ των τριών ισχυρών.
23 He was honoured above the thirty, but he did not attain to the [first] three. And David set him in his council.
Ήτο ενδοξότερος των τριάκοντα· δεν έφθασεν όμως μέχρι των τριών πρώτων· και κατέστησεν αυτόν ο Δαβίδ επί των δορυφόρων αυτού.
24 Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
Ασαήλ, ο αδελφός του Ιωάβ, ήτο μεταξύ των τριάκοντα· οίτινες ήσαν Ελχανάν, ο υιός του Δωδώ, εκ της Βηθλεέμ·
25 Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
Σαμμά ο Αρωδίτης· Ελικά ο Αρωδίτης·
26 Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
Χελής ο Φαλτίτης· Ιράς, ο υιός του Ικκής, ο Θεκωΐτης·
27 Abiezer the Anathothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
Αβιέζερ ο Αναθωθίτης· Μεβουναί ο Χουσαθίτης·
28 Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
Σαλμών ο Αχωχίτης· Μααραΐ ο Νετωφαθίτης·
29 Heleb the son of Baanah, the Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
Χελέβ, ο υιός του Βαανά, ο Νετωφαθίτης· Ιτταΐ, ο υιός του Ριβαί, από Γαβαά, των υιών Βενιαμίν·
30 Benaiah a Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,
Βεναΐας ο Πιραθωνίτης· Ιδδαΐ, εκ των κοιλάδων Γαάς·
31 Abi-albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
Αβί-αλβών ο Αρβαθίτης· Αζμαβέθ ο Βαρουμίτης·
32 Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
Ελιαβά ο Σααλβωνίτης· Ιωνάθαν, εκ των υιών Ιαασήν·
33 Shammah the Ararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Ararite,
Σαμμά ο Αραρίτης· Αχιάμ, ο υιός του Σαράρ, ο Αραρίτης·
34 Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,
Ελιφελέτ, ο υιός του Αασβαί, υιός του Μααχαθίτου· Ελιάμ, ο υιός του Αχιτόφελ του Γιλωναίου.
35 Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
Εσραΐ ο Καρμηλίτης· Φααραί ο Αρβίτης·
36 Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
Ιγάλ, ο υιός του Νάθαν, από Σωβά· ανί ο Γαδίτης·
37 Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, the armour-bearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah,
Σελέκ ο Αμμωνίτης· Νααραί ο Βηρωθαίος, ο οπλοφόρος του Ιωάβ, υιού της Σερουΐας·
38 Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,
Ιράς ο Ιεθρίτης· Γαρήβ ο Ιεθρίτης·
39 Uriah the Hittite: thirty-seven in all.
Ουρίας ο Χετταίος· πάντες τριάκοντα επτά.
