2 Peter 1
1 Simon Peter, bondman and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have received like precious faith with us through [the] righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:
Simón Pedro, siervo y apóstol de Jesucristo, a los que han obtenido una fe tan preciosa como la nuestra en la justicia de nuestro Dios y Salvador, Jesucristo:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in [the] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
Gracia a vosotros y paz sean multiplicadas en el conocimiento de Dios y de Jesús nuestro Señor,
3 As his divine power has given to us all things which relate to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us by glory and virtue,
viendo que su divino poder nos ha concedido todas las cosas que pertenecen a la vida y a la piedad, mediante el conocimiento de aquel que nos llamó por su propia gloria y virtud,
4 through which he has given to us the greatest and precious promises, that through these ye may become partakers of [the] divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
por el cual nos ha concedido sus preciosas y grandísimas promesas; para que por medio de ellas lleguéis a ser partícipes de la naturaleza divina, habiendo escapado de la corrupción que hay en el mundo por la concupiscencia.
5 But for this very reason also, using therewith all diligence, in your faith have also virtue, in virtue knowledge,
Sí, y por esto mismo añadiendo de vuestra parte toda la diligencia, en vuestra fe suministrar la excelencia moral; y en la excelencia moral, el conocimiento;
6 in knowledge temperance, in temperance endurance, in endurance godliness,
y en el conocimiento, el autocontrol; y en el autocontrol, la perseverancia; y en la perseverancia, la piedad;
7 in godliness brotherly love, in brotherly love love:
y en la piedad, el afecto fraternal; y en el afecto fraternal, el amor.
8 for these things existing and abounding in you make [you] to be neither idle nor unfruitful as regards the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Porque si estas cosas son vuestras y abundan, os hacen no ser ociosos ni infructuosos en el conocimiento de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
9 for he with whom these things are not present is blind, short-sighted, and has forgotten the purging of his former sins.
Porque el que carece de estas cosas está ciego, viendo sólo lo que está cerca, habiendo olvidado la limpieza de sus antiguos pecados.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, use diligence to make your calling and election sure, for doing these things ye will never fall;
Por tanto, hermanos, procurad con más diligencia asegurar vuestra vocación y elección. Porque si hacéis estas cosas, nunca tropezaréis.
11 for thus shall the entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ be richly furnished unto you. (aiōnios g166)
Porque así se os dará abundantemente la entrada en el Reino eterno de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. (aiōnios g166)
12 Wherefore I will be careful to put you always in mind of these things, although knowing [them] and established in the present truth.
Por lo tanto, no me descuidaré de recordaros estas cosas, aunque las conozcáis y estéis establecidos en la verdad presente.
13 But I account it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting [you] in remembrance,
Me parece justo, mientras esté en esta tienda, estimularos recordándolas,
14 knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle is speedily [to take place], as also our Lord Jesus Christ has manifested to me;
sabiendo que la salida de mi tienda se produce rápidamente, como me lo hizo saber nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
15 but I will use diligence, that after my departure ye should have also, at any time, [in your power] to call to mind these things.
Sí, me esforzaré para que siempre podáis recordar estas cosas incluso después de mi partida.
16 For we have not made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, following cleverly imagined fables, but having been eyewitnesses of his majesty.
Porque no seguimos fábulas ingeniosas cuando os dimos a conocer el poder y la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, sino que fuimos testigos presenciales de su majestad.
17 For he received from God [the] Father honour and glory, such a voice being uttered to him by the excellent glory: This is my beloved Son, in whom I have found my delight;
Porque recibió de Dios Padre el honor y la gloria cuando le llegó la voz desde la Gloria Majestuosa: “Este es mi Hijo amado, en quien me complazco”.
18 and this voice we heard uttered from heaven, being with him on the holy mountain.
Esta voz la oímos salir del cielo cuando estábamos con él en el monte santo.
19 And we have the prophetic word [made] surer, to which ye do well taking heed (as to a lamp shining in an obscure place) until [the] day dawn and [the] morning star arise in your hearts;
Nosotros tenemos la palabra profética más segura; y hacéis bien en prestarle atención como a una lámpara que brilla en un lugar oscuro, hasta que amanezca y surja la estrella de la mañana en vuestros corazones,
20 knowing this first, that [the scope of] no prophecy of scripture is had from its own particular interpretation,
sabiendo primero esto, que ninguna profecía de la Escritura es de interpretación privada.
21 for prophecy was not ever uttered by [the] will of man, but holy men of God spake under the power of [the] Holy Spirit.
Porque ninguna profecía fue jamás fruto de la voluntad del hombre, sino que los santos hombres de Dios hablaron movidos por el Espíritu Santo.
