2 Kings 8
1 And Elisha had spoken to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, Rise up and go, thou and thy household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn; for Jehovah has called for a famine, and it shall also come upon the land for seven years.
Y habló Eliseo a aquella mujer, cuyo hijo había hecho vivir, diciendo: Levántate, vete, tú y toda tu casa, a vivir donde pudieres; porque Jehová ha llamado hambre, la cual vendrá también sobre la tierra siete años.
2 And the woman rose up, and did according to the saying of the man of God, and went, she and her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
Entonces la mujer se levantó, e hizo como el varón de Dios la dijo: y partióse ella y su casa, y vivió en tierra de los Filisteos siete años.
3 And it came to pass at the seven years' end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines; and she went forth to cry to the king for her house and for her land.
Y como fueron pasados los siete años, la mujer volvió de la tierra de los Filisteos: y salió para clamar al rey por su casa, y por sus tierras.
4 And the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha has done.
Y el rey había hablado con Giezi siervo del varón de Dios, diciéndole: Ruégote que me cuentes todas las maravillas que ha hecho Eliseo.
5 And it came to pass as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.
Y contando él al rey, como había hecho vivir un muerto, he aquí la mujer, cuyo hijo había hecho vivir, que clamaba al rey por su casa, y por sus tierras. Entonces dijo Giezi: Rey señor mío, esta es la mujer, y este es su hijo, al cual Eliseo hizo vivir.
6 And the king asked the woman, and she told him. And the king appointed a certain chamberlain, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the revenue of the land since the day that she left the country even until now.
Y preguntando el rey a la mujer, ella se lo contó. Y el rey le dio un eunuco, diciéndole: Házle volver todas las cosas que eran suyas, y todos los frutos de las tierras desde el día que dejó las tierras hasta ahora.
7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-Hadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him saying, The man of God is come hither.
Eliseo se fue a Damasco, y Ben-adad rey de Siria estaba enfermo, al cual dieron aviso, diciendo: El varón de Dios es venido aquí.
8 And the king said to Hazael, Take a present in thy hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of Jehovah by him, saying, Shall I recover from this disease?
Y el rey dijo a Hazael: Toma en tu mano un presente, y vé a recibir al varón de Dios, y consulta por él a Jehová, diciendo: ¿Tengo de sanar de esta enfermedad?
9 And Hazael went to meet him, and took with him a present, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels' burden; and he came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Ben-Hadad king of Syria has sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover from this disease?
Y Hazael tomó en su mano un presente de todos los bienes de Damasco, cuarenta camellos cargados, y salióle a recibir: y llegó y púsose delante de él, y dijo: Tu hijo Ben-adad rey de Siria me ha enviado a ti, diciendo: ¿Tengo de sanar de esta enfermedad?
10 And Elisha said to him, Go, say to him, Thou wilt certainly recover. But Jehovah has shewn me that he shall certainly die.
Y Eliseo le dijo: Vé, díle: Viviendo vivirás: empero Jehová me ha mostrado que muriendo ha de morir.
11 And he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed; and the man of God wept.
Y el varón de Dios le volvió el rostro afirmadamente, y estúvose así una gran pieza, y lloró el varón de Dios.
12 And Hazael said, Why does my lord weep? And he said, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do to the children of Israel: their strongholds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou kill with the sword, and wilt dash in pieces their children, and rip up their women with child.
Entonces díjole Hazael: ¿Por qué llora mi señor? Y él respondió: Porque sé el mal que has de hacer a los hijos de Israel: sus fortalezas encenderás a fuego, y sus mancebos pasarás a cuchillo, y sus niños estrellarás, y sus preñadas abrirás.
13 And Hazael said, But what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha said, Jehovah has shewn me that thou wilt be king over Syria.
Y Hazael dijo: ¿Por qué? ¿Es tu siervo perro, para hacer esta gran cosa? Y respondió Eliseo: Jehová me ha mostrado, que tú has de ser rey de Siria.
14 And he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, What did Elisha say to thee? And he said, He told me [that] thou wouldest certainly recover.
Y él se partió de Eliseo, y vino a su señor: y él le dijo: ¿Qué te dijo Eliseo? Y él respondió: Díjome, que viviendo vivirás.
15 And it came to pass the next day, that he took the coverlet and dipped [it] in water, and spread it over his face, so that he died; and Hazael reigned in his stead.
El día siguiente tomó un paño basto y metióle en agua, y tendióle sobre su rostro: y murió, y reinó Hazael en su lugar.
16 And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, began to reign.
En el quinto año de Joram, hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, y de Josafat rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Joram, hijo de Josafat rey de Judá.
17 He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
De treinta y dos años era, cuando comenzó a reinar, y ocho años reinó en Jerusalem.
18 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab, for the daughter of Ahab was his wife; and he did evil in the sight of Jehovah.
Anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, como hizo la casa de Acab: porque una hija de Acab fue su mujer, e hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová.
19 But Jehovah would not destroy Judah, for David his servant's sake, as he had promised him to give him always a lamp for his sons.
Con todo eso Jehová no quiso cortar a Judá, por amor de David su siervo, como le había prometido de darle lámpara de sus hijos perpetuamente.
20 In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and they set a king over themselves.
En su tiempo se rebeló Edom de debajo de la mano de Judá: y pusieron rey sobre sí.
21 And Joram went over to Zair, and all the chariots with him; and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites who had surrounded him, and the captains of the chariots; and the people fled into their tents.
Y Joram pasó en Seir, él y todos sus carros con él: y levantándose de noche hirió a los Idumeos, los cuales le habían encerrado, juntamente con los capitanes de los carros: y el pueblo huyó a sus estancias.
22 But the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.
Y se rebeló Edom de debajo de la mano de Judá hasta hoy. Entonces se rebeló Lebna en el mismo tiempo.
23 And the rest of the acts of Joram and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
Lo demás de los hechos de Joram, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
24 And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
Y durmió Joram con sus padres, y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David: y reinó en su lugar Ocozías su hijo.
25 In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, began to reign.
En el año doce de Joram, hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Ocozías, hijo de Joram rey de Judá.
26 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
De veinte y dos años era Ocozías cuando comenzó a reinar: y reinó un año en Jerusalem: el nombre de su madre fue Atalía, hija de Amrí, rey de Israel.
27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of Jehovah, like the house of Ahab; for he was the son-in-law of the house of Ahab.
Anduvo en el camino de la casa de Acab, e hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, como la casa de Acab; porque era yerno de la casa de Acab.
28 And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael the king of Syria at Ramoth-Gilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.
Y fue a la guerra con Joram, hijo de Acab, a Ramot de Galaad contra Hazael rey de Siria: y los Siros hirieron a Joram.
29 And king Joram returned to be healed in Jizreel of the wounds that the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Joram the son of Ahab at Jizreel, for he was sick.
Y el rey Joram se volvió a Jezrael para curarse de las heridas que los Siros le dieron delante de Ramot, cuando peleó contra Hazael rey de Siria: y descendió Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá, a visitar a Joram, hijo de Acab, en Jezrael, porque estaba enfermo.
