2 Corinthians 7
1 Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us purify ourselves from every pollution of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in God's fear.
প্রিয় বন্ধুরা, যেহেতু আমাদের কাছে এসব প্রতিশ্রুতি আছে, তাই যা কিছু আমাদের শরীর ও আত্মাকে কলুষিত করে, এসো আমরা সেসব থেকে নিজেদের শুচিশুদ্ধ করি এবং ঈশ্বরের প্রতি সম্ভ্রমবশত পবিত্রতা সিদ্ধ করি।
2 Receive us: we have injured no one, we have ruined no one, we have made gain of no one.
তোমরা তোমাদের হৃদয়ে আমাদের জন্য স্থান দিয়ো। আমরা কারও প্রতি অন্যায় করিনি, আমরা কাউকে ভুল পথে নিয়ে যাইনি, আমরা কাউকে শোষণ করিনি।
3 I do not speak for condemnation, for I have already said that ye are in our hearts, to die together, and live together.
তোমাদের অভিযুক্ত করার জন্য আমি একথা বলছি না। আমি পূর্বেই তোমাদের বলেছি যে, তোমরা আমাদের অন্তরে এমন স্থান জুড়ে আছ যে, আমরা মরি তো একসঙ্গে, আবার বাঁচি তো একসঙ্গে।
4 Great [is] my boldness towards you, great my exulting in respect of you; I am filled with encouragement; I overabound in joy under all our affliction.
তোমাদের প্রতি আমার গভীর আস্থা আছে; তোমাদের নিয়ে আমার ভীষণ গর্ব। তাই আমি সম্পূর্ণ অনুপ্রাণিত হয়েছি; আমাদের সমস্ত কষ্ট-সংকটের মধ্যেও আমার আনন্দের সীমা নেই।
5 For indeed, when we came into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but [we were] afflicted in every way; without combats, within fears.
কারণ, আমরা ম্যাসিডোনিয়ায় আসার পরেও, আমাদের এই শরীরের কোনো বিশ্রাম ছিল না, কিন্তু জীবনের প্রতিটি মোড়ে বিপর্যস্ত হচ্ছিলাম—বাইরে সংঘর্ষ, অন্তরে ভয়।
6 But he who encourages those that are [brought] low, [even] God, encouraged us by the coming of Titus;
কিন্তু ঈশ্বর, যিনি দুঃখিত মানুষদের সান্ত্বনা প্রদান করেন, তিনি তীতের আগমনের মাধ্যমে আমাদের সান্ত্বনা দিলেন।
7 and not by his coming only, but also through the encouragement with which he was encouraged as to you; relating to us your ardent desire, your mourning, your zeal for me; so that I the more rejoiced.
আর কেবলমাত্র তাঁর আগমনের মাধ্যমে নয়, কিন্তু তোমরা তাঁকে যে সান্ত্বনা দিয়েছ, তার মাধ্যমেও আশ্বস্ত করলেন। তিনি আমার জন্য তোমাদের আকাঙ্ক্ষা, তোমাদের গভীর দুঃখ, আমার জন্য তোমাদের প্রবল দুশ্চিন্তার কথাও ব্যক্ত করলেন, যেন আমার আনন্দ আগের থেকেও আরও বেশি হয়।
8 For if also I grieved you in the letter, I do not regret [it], if even I have regretted it; for I see that that letter, if even [it were] only for a time, grieved you.
আমার পত্রের দ্বারা আমি তোমাদের দুঃখ দিলেও, আমি তার জন্য অনুশোচনা করি না। আমি অনুশোচনা করলেও—আমি দেখছি যে আমার পত্র তোমাদের আহত করেছে, কিন্তু তা মাত্র অল্প সময়ের জন্য—
9 Now I rejoice, not that ye have been grieved, but that ye have been grieved to repentance; for ye have been grieved according to God, that in nothing ye might be injured by us.
এখন আমি আনন্দিত, তোমাদের দুঃখ দিয়েছিলাম বলে নয়, কিন্তু সেই দুঃখ তোমাদের অনুতাপের পথে চালিত করেছিল বলে। কারণ ঈশ্বর যেমন চেয়েছিলেন, তোমরা তেমনই দুঃখিত হয়েছিলে, অতএব, আমাদের দ্বারা তোমাদের কোনো ক্ষতি হয়নি।
10 For grief according to God works repentance to salvation, never to be regretted; but the grief of the world works death.
ঐশ্বরিক দুঃখ নিয়ে আসে অনুতাপ, যা পরিত্রাণের পথে চালিত করে; সেখানে অনুশোচনার কোনও অবকাশ নেই; কিন্তু জাগতিক দুঃখ নিয়ে আসে মৃত্যু।
11 For, behold, this same thing, your being grieved according to God, how much diligence it wrought in you, but [what] excusing [of yourselves], but [what] indignation, but [what] fear, but [what] ardent desire, but [what] zeal, but [what] vengeance: in every way ye have proved yourselves to be pure in the matter.
দেখো, ঈশ্বরের অভিমত অনুযায়ী তোমাদের মধ্যে কী সব বিষয় উৎপন্ন করেছে: কত আগ্রহ, নিজেদের শুদ্ধ দেখানোর জন্য কত আকুলতা, কত না ধিক্কার, কত আশঙ্কা, কত প্রতীক্ষা, কত উদ্বেগ, ন্যায় প্রতিষ্ঠার জন্য কত না প্রস্তুতি। এই ব্যাপারে, প্রতি ক্ষেত্রেই তোমরা নিজেদের নির্দোষ প্রমাণ করেছ।
12 So then, if also I wrote to you, [it was] not for the sake of him that injured, nor for the sake of him that was injured, but for the sake of our diligent zeal for you being manifested to you before God.
তাই আমি যদিও তোমাদের লিখেছিলাম, যে অন্যায় করেছিল, এ তার বিরুদ্ধে, অথবা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত পক্ষের বিরুদ্ধে নয়, বরং ঈশ্বরের দৃষ্টিতে তোমরা নিজেরাই দেখতে পাও যে, তোমরা আমাদের প্রতি কত অনুরক্ত।
13 For this reason we have been encouraged. And we the rather rejoiced in our encouragement more abundantly by reason of the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.
এ সবকিছুর দ্বারা আমরা উৎসাহ লাভ করেছি। আমাদের নিজস্ব উৎসাহ ছাড়াও, তীতকে সুখী দেখে আমরাও বিশেষভবে আনন্দিত হয়েছিলাম, কারণ তোমাদের সকলের দ্বারা তাঁর আত্মা সঞ্জীবিত হয়েছে।
14 Because if I boasted to him anything about you, I have not been put to shame; but as we have spoken to you all things in truth, so also our boasting to Titus has been [the] truth;
আমি তাঁর কাছে তোমাদের সম্পর্কে গর্বপ্রকাশ করেছিলাম, আর তোমরা আমাকে অপ্রস্তুত করোনি। কারণ যেমন তোমাদের কাছে আমাদের বলা সব কথাই ছিল সত্যি, তেমনই তীতের কাছে তোমাদের সম্পর্কে যে গর্বপ্রকাশ করেছিলাম, তাও সত্যি বলে প্রমাণিত হয়েছে।
15 and his affections are more abundantly towards you, calling to mind the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
আর তোমাদের জন্য তাঁর স্নেহ আরও বেশি প্রবল হয়েছে, যখন তিনি স্মরণ করেন যে, তোমরা কেমন আদেশ পালন করেছিলে, তাঁকে সভয়ে ও কম্পিত হৃদয়ে গ্রহণ করেছিলে।
16 I rejoice that in everything I am confident as to you.
আমি আনন্দিত যে, আমি তোমাদের উপরে সম্পূর্ণ আস্থা রাখতে পারি।
