2 Corinthians 4
1 Therefore, having this ministry, as we have had mercy shewn us, we faint not.
Darum: in dieses Amt gesetzt, nach der Barmherzigkeit die uns widerfahren ist, kennen wir keine Furcht;
2 But we have rejected the hidden things of shame, not walking in deceit, nor falsifying the word of God, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every conscience of men before God.
alles Schämen mit seiner Heimlichkeit haben wir bei Seite gethan, da wir nicht mit Ränken umgehen, noch das Wort Gottes fälschen, sondern durch Kundmachung der Wahrheit uns jedem menschlichen Gewissensurteil stellen vor Gott.
3 But if also our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in those that are lost;
Wohl ist unser Evangelium verhüllt, aber verhüllt für die, die verloren sind,
4 in whom the god of this world has blinded the thoughts of the unbelieving, so that the radiancy of the glad tidings of the glory of the Christ, who is [the] image of God, should not shine forth [for them]. (aiōn g165)
in denen der Gott dieser Welt den Sinn der Ungläubigen geblendet hat, daß kein Strahl dahin dringt von dem leuchtenden Evangelium der Herrlichkeit des Christus, der da ist das Ebenbild Gottes. (aiōn g165)
5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus Lord, and ourselves your bondmen for Jesus' sake.
Denn nicht uns selbst verkünden wir, sondern Christus Jesus als Herrn, uns aber als eure Knechte um Jesus willen.
6 Because [it is] the God who spoke that out of darkness light should shine who has shone in our hearts for the shining forth of the knowledge of the glory of God in [the] face of [Jesus] Christ.
Denn der Gott, der da sprach: aus der Finsternis soll leuchten das Licht, ist es, der es in unseren Herzen tagen ließ zum strahlenden Aufgang der Erkenntnis von der Herrlichkeit Gottes im Antlitze Christus'.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassingness of the power may be of God, and not from us:
Diesen Schatz haben wir aber in thönernen Gefäßen - denn die überschwängliche Kraft soll Gottes sein und nicht von uns -
8 every way afflicted, but not straitened; seeing no apparent issue, but our way not entirely shut up;
als die wir sind allenthalben bedrängt und doch nicht erdrückt, geängstet und doch nicht verzagend,
9 persecuted, but not abandoned; cast down, but not destroyed;
verfolgt und doch nicht verlassen, niedergeworfen und doch nicht vernichtet,
10 always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body;
stets das Todessiegel des Jesus am Leib herumtragend, damit auch das Leben des Jesus an unserem Leib geoffenbart werde.
11 for we who live are always delivered unto death on account of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh;
Denn mitten im Leben werden wir beständig in den Tod gegeben um Jesus willen, damit auch das Leben des Jesus an unserem sterblichen Fleische geoffenbart werde.
12 so that death works in us, but life in you.
So wirkt sich also der Tod aus an uns, aber das Leben an euch.
13 And having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I have believed, therefore have I spoken; we also believe, therefore also we speak;
Wir haben aber denselben Geist des Glaubens, wie es geschrieben steht: ich habe geglaubt, darum habe ich geredet; so reden auch wir, weil wir glauben,
14 knowing that he who has raised the Lord Jesus shall raise us also with Jesus, and shall present [us] with you.
in der Gewißheit, daß der, der den Herrn Jesus auferweckt hat, auch uns mit Jesus erwecken und samt euch darstellen wird.
15 For all things [are] for your sakes, that the grace abounding through the many may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.
Denn alles geschieht um euretwillen, damit die Gnade durch den Dank, den sie immer weiter schafft, ihren Reichtum beweise zum Preise Gottes.
16 Wherefore we faint not; but if indeed our outward man is consumed, yet the inward is renewed day by day.
Darum werden wir nicht mutlos; sondern wenn auch unser äußerer Mensch sich verzehrt, so wird doch der innere Tag für Tag neu.
17 For our momentary [and] light affliction works for us in surpassing measure an eternal weight of glory; (aiōnios g166)
Denn des Augenblickes leichte Last an Trübsal erwirbt uns über alles Verhoffen und Fassen hinaus einen gewichtigen Schatz von Herrlichkeit für ewig, (aiōnios g166)
18 while we look not at the things that are seen, but at the things that are not seen; for the things that are seen [are] for a time, but those that are not seen eternal. (aiōnios g166)
wenn wir nicht sehen auf das Sichtbare, sondern auf das Unsichtbare; denn das Sichtbare ist zeitlich, das Unsichtbare ist ewig. (aiōnios g166)
