2 Chronicles 19
1 And Jehoshaphat king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.
Josafat, rey de Judá, regresó a su casa en paz a Jerusalén.
2 And Jehu the son of Hanani, the seer, went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate Jehovah? Therefore is wrath upon thee from Jehovah.
Jehú, hijo del vidente Hanani, salió a su encuentro y le dijo al rey Josafat: “¿Debes ayudar a los impíos y amar a los que odian a Yahvé? A causa de esto, la ira está sobre ti de parte de Yahvé.
3 Nevertheless there are good things found in thee; for thou hast put away the Asherahs out of the land, and hast directed thy heart to seek God.
Sin embargo, se han encontrado cosas buenas en ti, ya que has desechado a los asheróticos de la tierra y has puesto tu corazón para buscar a Dios.”
4 And Jehoshaphat dwelt in Jerusalem; and he went out again among the people from Beer-sheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back to Jehovah the God of their fathers.
Josafat vivía en Jerusalén, y volvió a salir entre el pueblo desde Beerseba hasta la región montañosa de Efraín, y los hizo volver a Yahvé, el Dios de sus padres.
5 And he set judges in the land throughout the fortified cities of Judah, city by city.
Puso jueces en el país por todas las ciudades fortificadas de Judá, ciudad por ciudad,
6 And he said to the judges, Take heed what ye do; for ye judge not for man, but for Jehovah, who will be with you in the matter of judgment.
y dijo a los jueces: “Consideren lo que hacen, porque no juzgan por el hombre, sino por Yahvé; y él está con ustedes en el juicio.
7 And now, let the terror of Jehovah be upon you; be careful what ye do, for there is no iniquity with Jehovah, nor respect of persons, nor taking of presents.
Ahora, pues, que el temor de Yahvé esté sobre vosotros. Tened cuidado y hacedlo; porque no hay iniquidad con Yahvé nuestro Dios, ni acepción de personas, ni aceptación de sobornos.”
8 — And moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set some of the Levites and priests, and of the chief fathers of Israel, for the judgment of Jehovah and for causes. — And they returned to Jerusalem.
Además, Josafat nombró en Jerusalén a algunos levitas, sacerdotes y jefes de familia de Israel para que juzgaran por Yahvé y por las controversias. Ellos regresaron a Jerusalén.
9 And he charged them saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of Jehovah faithfully and with a perfect heart.
Él les ordenó diciendo: “Haréis esto en el temor de Yahvé, con fidelidad y con un corazón perfecto.
10 And what cause soever comes to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against Jehovah, and so wrath come upon you and upon your brethren: this do and ye shall not trespass.
Siempre que os llegue alguna controversia de vuestros hermanos que habitan en sus ciudades, entre sangre y sangre, entre ley y mandamiento, estatutos y ordenanzas, debéis amonestarlos, para que no sean culpables ante Yahvé, y venga así la ira sobre vosotros y sobre vuestros hermanos. Haz esto, y no serás culpable.
11 And behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of Jehovah, and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, prince of the house of Judah, in all the king's matters; and ye have the Levites before you as officers. Be strong and do it, and Jehovah will be with the good.
He aquí que el sumo sacerdote Amarías está sobre vosotros en todos los asuntos de Yahvé; y Zebadías, hijo de Ismael, jefe de la casa de Judá, en todos los asuntos del rey. También los levitas serán oficiales ante ti. Trata con valentía, y que Yahvé esté con el bien”.
