2 Chronicles 11
1 And Rehoboam came to Jerusalem; and he assembled the house of Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen men apt for war, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
Rehooboʼaam yommuu Yerusaalem gaʼetti akka isaan Israaʼelitti duulanii Rehooboʼaamiif mootummaa deebisaniif jedhee mana Yihuudaa fi Beniyaam keessaa namoota loluu dandaʼan kuma dhibba tokkoo fi saddeettama walitti qabe.
2 But the word of Jehovah came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
Garuu dubbiin Waaqayyoo kun akkana jedhee gara nama Waaqaa gara Shemaaʼiyaa ni dhufe;
3 Speak unto Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and unto all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
“Rehooboʼaam ilma Solomoon mooticha Yihuudaatii fi Israaʼeloota Yihuudaa fi Beniyaam keessa jiraatan hundaan akkana jedhi;
4 Thus saith Jehovah: Go not up, nor fight with your brethren; return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. And they hearkened to the words of Jehovah, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
‘Waaqayyo akkana jedha: Obboloota keessan Israaʼeloota loluudhaaf jettanii ol hin baʼinaa. Sababii wanni kun ana biraa dhufeef tokkoon tokkoon keessan gara mana keessaniitti galaa.’” Kanaafuu isaan dubbii Waaqayyootiif ajajamanii Yerobiʼaamitti duuluu dhiisanii deebiʼan.
5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.
Rehooboʼaam Yerusaalem keessa jiraatee Yihuudaa keessatti immoo magaalaawwan ittisaa ni ijaarrate; isaanis:
6 And he built Bethlehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
Beetlihem, Eexaam, Teqooʼaa,
7 and Beth-zur, and Soco, and Adullam,
Beet Zuuri, Sookoo, Adulaam,
8 and Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,
Gaati, Maareeshaa, Ziif,
9 and Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
Adooraayim, Laakkiish, Azeeqaa,
10 and Zorah, and Ajalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin, fortified cities.
Zoraa, Ayaaloonii fi Kebrooni. Isaan kunneen magaalaawwan Yihuudaa fi Beniyaam keessatti jabeeffamanii ijaaramanii dha.
11 And he fortified the strongholds, and put captains in them, and stores of victuals, and of oil and wine;
Innis ittisa isaanii jajjabeessee ajajjoota itti galche; nyaata, zayitii ejersaatii fi daadhii wayiniis achitti ni kuuse.
12 and in every several city, targets and spears, and made them exceedingly strong. And Judah and Benjamin were his.
Magaalaawwan hunda keessas gaachanaa fi eeboo kaaʼee akka isaan jabaatan ni godhe. Akkasiinis Yihuudaa fi Beniyaamin kan ofii isaa godhate.
13 And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their districts;
Luboonnii fi Lewwonni aanaalee Israaʼel hunda keessa jiraatan gara isaa goran.
14 for the Levites left their suburbs and their possessions, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from exercising the priesthood to Jehovah;
Sababii Yerobiʼaamii fi ilmaan isaa akka luboota Waaqayyootti isaan ilaaluu didaniif, Lewwonni lafa dheeda isaanii fi qabeenya isaanii dhiisanii gara Yihuudaa fi Yerusaalem dhufan.
15 and he ordained for himself priests for the high places, and for the he-goats and for the calves that he had made.
Innis iddoowwan sagadaa kanneen gaarran irraatii fi fakkii waaqota tolfamoo bifa reʼee fi bifa jabbiitiin hojjete sanaaf luboota ofii isaa ni muuddate.
16 — And after them, those out of all the tribes of Israel that set their heart to seek Jehovah the God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice to Jehovah the God of their fathers.
Warri gosoota Israaʼel hunda keessaa garaan isaanii Waaqayyo Waaqa Israaʼel bira jiru Waaqayyo Waaqa abbootii isaaniitiif aarsaa dhiʼeessuudhaaf Lewwota duukaa buʼanii Yerusaalem dhaqan.
17 And they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong three years; for during three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.
Isaanis mootummaa Yihuudaa jajjabeessaa waggaa sadii Rehooboʼaam ilma Solomoon ni gargaaran; isaan waggoota sadan kana keessa karaa Daawitii fi Solomoon duukaa buʼaa turaniitii.
18 And Rehoboam took Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David as wife, [and of] Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse.
Rehooboʼaamis Maahalaati intala Yeriimooti ilma Daawitii fi Abiihaayil fuudhe; Abiihaayil kun immoo intala Eliiyaab ilma Isseey.
19 And she bore him children: Jeush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.
Isheenis: Yeʼuushi, Shemaariyaa fi Zahaam deesseef.
20 And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; and she bore him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
Ergasii immoo Maʼakaa intala Abesaaloom ni fuudhe; isheenis Abiyaa, Ataayi, Ziizaa fi Sheloomiit deesseef.
21 And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines; for he had taken eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and he begot twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.
Rehooboʼaamis niitotaa isaa kaanii fi saajjatoowwan isaa caalaa Maʼakaa intala Abesaaloom ni jaallate. Innis walumatti niitota kudha saddeet, saajjatoowwan jaatama, ilmaan digdamii saddeetii fi intallan jaatama qaba ture.
22 And Rehoboam established Abijah the son of Maachah at the head, to be ruler among his brethren; for [he thought] to make him king.
Rehooboʼaamis mootii isa gochuuf jedhee Abiyaa ilma Maʼakaa sana obboloota isaa ilmaan mootii keessaa hoogganaa godhee muude.
23 And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, to all the fortified cities; and he gave them food in abundance. And he desired [for them] a multitude of wives.
Innis ogummaan ilmaan isaa keessaa tokko tokko aanaalee Yihuudaa fi Beniyaam keessa, gara magaalaawwan jabeeffamanii ijaaraman hundaatti ni erge. Ilmaan isaaf nyaata isaan gaʼu kennee niitota baayʼee illee isaan ni fuusise.
