2 Chronicles 11
1 And Rehoboam came to Jerusalem; and he assembled the house of Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen men apt for war, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
Und da Rehabeam gen Jerusalem kam, versammelte er das Haus Juda und Benjamin, hundertundachtzigtausend junger Mannschaft, die streitbar waren, wider Israel zu streiten, daß sie das Königreich wieder an Rehabeam brächten.
2 But the word of Jehovah came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
Aber des HERRN Wort kam zu Semaja, dem Mann Gottes, und sprach:
3 Speak unto Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and unto all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
Sage Rehabeam, dem Sohn Salomos, dem Könige Judas, und dem ganzen Israel, das unter Juda und Benjamin ist, und sprich:
4 Thus saith Jehovah: Go not up, nor fight with your brethren; return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. And they hearkened to the words of Jehovah, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
So spricht der HERR: Ihr sollt nicht hinaufziehen, noch wider eure Brüder streiten; ein jeglicher gehe wieder heim, denn das ist von mir geschehen. Sie gehorchten den Worten des HERRN und ließen ab von dem Zug wider Jerobeam.
5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.
Rehabeam aber wohnete zu Jerusalem und baute die Städte fest in Juda,
6 And he built Bethlehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
nämlich: Bethlehem, Etam, Thekoa,
7 and Beth-zur, and Soco, and Adullam,
Beth-Zur, Socho, Adullam,
8 and Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,
Gath, Maresa, Siph,
9 and Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
Adoraim, Lachis, Aseka,
10 and Zorah, and Ajalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin, fortified cities.
Zarea, Ajalon und Hebron, welche waren die festesten Städte in Juda und Benjamin.
11 And he fortified the strongholds, and put captains in them, and stores of victuals, and of oil and wine;
Und machte sie feste und setzte Fürsten drein und Vorrat von Speise, Öl und Wein.
12 and in every several city, targets and spears, and made them exceedingly strong. And Judah and Benjamin were his.
Und in allen Städten schaffte er Schilde und Spieße und machte sie sehr feste. Und Juda und Benjamin waren unter ihm.
13 And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their districts;
Auch machten sich zu ihm die Priester und Leviten aus dem ganzen Israel und allen ihren Grenzen.
14 for the Levites left their suburbs and their possessions, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from exercising the priesthood to Jehovah;
Und sie verließen ihre Vorstädte und Habe und kamen zu Juda gen Jerusalem. Denn Jerobeam und seine Söhne verstießen sie, daß sie dem HERRN nicht Priesteramts pflegen mußten.
15 and he ordained for himself priests for the high places, and for the he-goats and for the calves that he had made.
Er stiftete ihm aber Priester zu den Höhen und zu den Feldteufeln und Kälbern, die er machen ließ.
16 — And after them, those out of all the tribes of Israel that set their heart to seek Jehovah the God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice to Jehovah the God of their fathers.
Und nach ihnen kamen aus allen Stämmen Israels, die ihr Herz gaben, daß sie nach dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, fragten, gen Jerusalem, daß sie opferten dem HERRN, dem Gott ihrer Väter.
17 And they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong three years; for during three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.
Und stärkten also das Königreich Juda und bestätigten Rehabeam, den Sohn Salomos, drei Jahre lang. Denn sie wandelten in dem Wege Davids und Salomos drei Jahre.
18 And Rehoboam took Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David as wife, [and of] Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse.
Und Rehabeam nahm Mahelath, die Tochter Jerimoths, des Sohns Davids, zum Weibe und Abihail, die Tochter Eliabs, des Sohns Isais.
19 And she bore him children: Jeush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.
Die gebar ihm diese Söhne: Jeus, Semarja und Saham.
20 And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; and she bore him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
Nach der nahm er Maecha, die Tochter Absaloms; die gebar ihm Abia, Athai, Sisa und Selomith.
21 And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines; for he had taken eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and he begot twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.
Aber Rehabeam hatte Maecha, die Tochter Absaloms, lieber denn alle seine Weiber und Kebsweiber; denn er hatte achtzehn Weiber und sechzig Kebsweiber; und zeugete achtundzwanzig Söhne und sechzig Töchter.
22 And Rehoboam established Abijah the son of Maachah at the head, to be ruler among his brethren; for [he thought] to make him king.
Und Rehabeam setzte Abia, den Sohn Maechas, zum Haupt und Fürsten unter seinen Brüdern; denn er gedachte ihn zum Könige zu machen.
23 And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, to all the fortified cities; and he gave them food in abundance. And he desired [for them] a multitude of wives.
Und er nahm zu und brach aus vor allen seinen Söhnen in Landen Juda und Benjamin in allen festen Städten; und er gab ihnen Fütterung die Menge und nahm viel Weiber.
