2 Chronicles 1
1 And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and Jehovah his God was with him and magnified him exceedingly.
தாவீதின் மகன் சாலொமோன் தனது அரசாட்சியின்மேல் தன்னை மிகவும் உறுதியாக நிலைப்படுத்தினான்; இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா அவனோடிருந்து அவனை மிகவும் மேன்மைப்படுத்தினார்.
2 And Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to all the princes of all Israel, the chief fathers;
பின்பு சாலொமோன் எல்லா இஸ்ரயேலருடனும் பேசினான். அவன் ஆயிரம்பேரின் தளபதிகளுடனும், நூறுபேரின் தளபதிகளுடனும், நீதிபதிகளுடனும், இஸ்ரயேலின் தலைவர்களுடனும், குடும்பங்களின் தலைவர்களுடனும் பேசினான்.
3 and Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place at Gibeon; for there was God's tent of meeting which Moses the servant of Jehovah had made in the wilderness.
சாலொமோனும் கூடியிருந்தவர்கள் எல்லோரும் கிபியோனில் உள்ள உயரமான இடத்திற்குப் போனார்கள். ஏனெனில் அங்கேயே யெகோவாவின் ஊழியக்காரரான மோசே பாலைவனத்தில் அமைத்த இறைவனின் ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரம் இருந்தது.
4 But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjath-jearim to the [place] that David had prepared for it; for he had spread a tent for it at Jerusalem.
அப்பொழுது தாவீது இறைவனின் பெட்டியை கீரியாத்யாரீமிலிருந்து அதற்கென தான் ஆயத்தப்படுத்திய இடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுவந்தான். ஏனெனில் அவன் எருசலேமில் அதற்காக ஒரு கூடாரம் அமைத்திருந்தான்.
5 And the brazen altar that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, was there before the tabernacle of Jehovah; and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.
ஆனால் கூரின் மகனான ஊரியின் மகன் பெசலெயேல் செய்திருந்த ஒரு வெண்கல பலிபீடம் கிபியோனில் யெகோவாவின் இருப்பிடத்திற்கு முன்னால் இருந்தது. எனவே அந்த இடத்தில்தான் சாலொமோனும் கூடியிருந்த மக்களும் யெகோவாவிடத்தில் விசாரித்தார்கள்.
6 And Solomon offered there upon the brazen altar before Jehovah which was at the tent of meeting; and he offered up a thousand burnt-offerings upon it.
சபைக் கூடாரத்தில் யெகோவாவுக்குமுன் அமைந்திருந்த வெண்கல பலிபீடத்திற்கு சாலொமோன் சென்றான். அங்கே ஆயிரம் தகன காணிக்கைகளைச் செலுத்தினான்.
7 In that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, Ask what I shall give thee.
அந்த இரவில் இறைவன் சாலொமோனுக்குக் காணப்பட்டு, “உனக்கு எது வேண்டுமோ அதைக் கேள்” என்றார்.
8 And Solomon said to God, Thou hast shewn unto David my father great loving-kindness, and hast made me king in his stead.
சாலொமோன் இறைவனிடம், “நீர் எனது தகப்பன் தாவீதிற்கு உமது மிகுந்த தயவைக் காட்டி, அவருடைய இடத்தில் என்னை அரசனாக்கினீர்.
9 Now, Jehovah Elohim, let thy word unto David my father be firm; for thou hast made me king over a people numerous as the dust of the earth.
இப்பொழுதும் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவே, எனது தகப்பன் தாவீதிற்கு நீர் கொடுத்த வாக்குத்தத்தம் உறுதிப்படட்டும். ஏனெனில் பூமியின் தூளைப்போல் எண்ணிக்கையுடைய மக்களுக்கு என்னை அரசனாக்கியிருக்கிறீர்.
10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this thy great people?
எனவே இந்த மக்களை வழிநடத்துவதற்கு வேண்டிய ஞானத்தையும், அறிவையும் எனக்குத் தாரும். ஏனெனில் இந்த பெருந்திரளான உமது மக்களை ஆட்சிசெய்ய யாரால் முடியும்?” எனப் பதிலளித்தான்.
11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of them that hate thee, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked for thyself wisdom and knowledge, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
இறைவன் சாலொமோனிடம், “நீ செல்வத்தையோ, செழிப்பையோ, கனத்தையோ, உன் பகைவர்களின் மரணத்தையோ, அல்லது உனக்கு நீண்ட ஆயுளையோ கேட்கவில்லை. மாறாக என் மக்களை ஆளும்படி நான் உன்னை அரசனாக்கினேன். நீ அவர்களை ஆளுவதற்கு ஞானத்தையும் அறிவையும் கேட்டிருக்கிறாய். இதுவே உனது இருதயத்தின் ஆசையாயிருந்தபடியால்,
12 wisdom and knowledge are granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches and wealth and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall any after thee have the like.
உனக்கு ஞானத்தையும் அறிவையும் கொடுக்கிறேன். அத்துடன் உனக்கு முன்னிருந்த எந்த அரசனுக்கும் உனக்குப் பின்வரும் எந்த அரசனுக்கும் இல்லாத செல்வத்தையும், செழிப்பையும், கனத்தையும் உனக்குக் கொடுப்பேன்” என்றார்.
13 Then Solomon came back [from] the high place at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tent of meeting, and reigned over Israel.
அதன்பின்பு சாலொமோன் கிபியோனின் சபைக் கூடாரத்திற்கு முன்பாக இருந்த, உயர்ந்த இடத்திலிருந்து எருசலேமுக்குப் போனான். அங்கே இஸ்ரயேலை அரசாண்டான்.
14 And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; and he had a thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen; and he placed them in the chariot-cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
சாலொமோன் தேர்களையும், குதிரைகளையும் திரளாய் சேர்த்தான். அவனிடம் 1,400 தேர்களும், 12,000 குதிரைகளும் இருந்தன. அவன் தேர்களை அவற்றிற்குரிய பட்டணங்களிலும், அரசனாகிய தன்னிடத்தில் எருசலேமிலும் வைத்திருந்தான்.
15 And the king made silver and gold in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he as the sycamores that are in the lowland for abundance.
அரசன் எருசலேமில் தங்கத்தையும், வெள்ளியையும் கற்களைப்போல் சாதரணமாகவும், கேதுரு மரங்களை மலையடிவாரங்களில் வளரும் காட்டத்தி மரங்களைப்போல ஏராளமாகவும் கிடைக்கும்படி செய்தான்.
16 And the exportation of horses that Solomon had was from Egypt: a caravan of the king's merchants fetched a drove [of horses], at a price.
சாலொமோனுடைய குதிரைகள் எகிப்திலிருந்தும் சிலிசியாவிலிருந்தும் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டன. அரச வர்த்தகர்கள் அவற்றை அப்போதிருந்த விலைக்கு சிலிசியாவிலிருந்தே வாங்கினார்கள்.
17 And they fetched up and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred [shekels] of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so they brought [them] by their means, for all the kings of the Hittites and for the kings of Syria.
எகிப்திலிருந்து ஒரு தேரை அறுநூறு சேக்கல் வெள்ளிக்கும், ஒரு குதிரையை நூற்றைம்பது சேக்கல் வெள்ளிக்கும் இறக்குமதி செய்தனர். அத்துடன் அவற்றை அவர்கள் ஏத்திய அரசர்களுக்கும், சீரிய அரசர்களுக்கும் ஏற்றுமதி செய்தனர்.
