1 Timothy 2
1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings be made for all men;
มม ปฺรถม อาเทโศ'ยํ, ปฺรารฺถนาวินยนิเวทนธนฺยวาทา: กรฺตฺตวฺยา: ,
2 for kings and all that are in dignity, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all piety and gravity;
สรฺเวฺวษำ มานวานำ กฺฤเต วิเศษโต วยํ ยตฺ ศานฺตเตฺวน นิรฺวฺวิโรธเตฺวน เจศฺจรภกฺตึ วินีตตฺวญฺจาจรนฺต: กาลํ ยาปยามสฺตทรฺถํ นฺฤปตีนามฺ อุจฺจปทสฺถานาญฺจ กฺฤเต เต กรฺตฺตวฺยา: ฯ
3 for this is good and acceptable before our Saviour God,
ยโต'สฺมากํ ตารกเสฺยศฺวรสฺย สากฺษาตฺ ตเทโวตฺตมํ คฺราหฺยญฺจ ภวติ,
4 who desires that all men should be saved and come to [the] knowledge of [the] truth.
ส สรฺเวฺวษำ มานวานำ ปริตฺราณํ สตฺยชฺญานปฺราปฺติญฺเจจฺฉติฯ
5 For God is one, and [the] mediator of God and men one, [the] man Christ Jesus,
ยต เอโก'ทฺวิตีย อีศฺวโร วิทฺยเต กิญฺเจศฺวเร มานเวษุ ไจโก 'ทฺวิตีโย มธฺยสฺถ:
6 who gave himself a ransom for all, the testimony [to be rendered] in its own times;
ส นราวตาร: ขฺรีษฺโฏ ยีศุ รฺวิทฺยเต ย: สรฺเวฺวษำ มุกฺเต รฺมูลฺยมฺ อาตฺมทานํ กฺฤตวานฺฯ เอเตน เยน ปฺรมาเณโนปยุกฺเต สมเย ปฺรกาศิตวฺยํ,
7 to which I have been appointed a herald and apostle, (I speak [the] truth, I do not lie, ) a teacher of [the] nations in faith and truth.
ตทฺโฆษยิตา ทูโต วิศฺวาเส สตฺยธรฺมฺเม จ ภินฺนชาตียานามฺ อุปเทศกศฺจาหํ นฺยยูเชฺย, เอตทหํ ขฺรีษฺฏสฺย นามฺนา ยถาตถฺยํ วทามิ นานฺฤตํ กถยามิฯ
8 I will therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up pious hands, without wrath or reasoning.
อโต มมาภิมตมิทํ ปุรุไษ: โกฺรธสนฺเทเหา วินา ปวิตฺรกรานฺ อุตฺโตลฺย สรฺวฺวสฺมินฺ สฺถาเน ปฺรารฺถนา กฺริยตำฯ
9 In like manner also that the women in decent deportment and dress adorn themselves with modesty and discretion, not with plaited [hair] and gold, or pearls, or costly clothing,
ตทฺวตฺ นารฺโยฺย'ปิ สลชฺชา: สํยตมนสศฺจ สโตฺย โยคฺยมาจฺฉาทนํ ปริทธตุ กิญฺจ เกศสํสฺกาไร: กณกมุกฺตาภิ รฺมหารฺฆฺยปริจฺฉไทศฺจาตฺมภูษณํ น กุรฺวฺวตฺย:
10 but, what becomes women making profession of the fear of God, by good works.
สฺวีกฺฤเตศฺวรภกฺตีนำ โยษิตำ โยไคฺย: สตฺยรฺมฺมภิ: สฺวภูษณํ กุรฺวฺวตำฯ
11 Let a woman learn in quietness in all subjection;
นารี สมฺปูรฺณวินีตเตฺวน นิรฺวิโรธํ ศิกฺษตำฯ
12 but I do not suffer a woman to teach nor to exercise authority over man, but to be in quietness;
นารฺยฺยา: ศิกฺษาทานํ ปุรุษายาชฺญาทานํ วาหํ นานุชานามิ ตยา นิรฺวฺวิโรธตฺวมฺ อาจริตวฺยํฯ
13 for Adam was formed first, then Eve:
ยต: ปฺรถมมฺ อาทมสฺตต: ปรํ หวายา: สฺฤษฺฏิ รฺพภูวฯ
14 and Adam was not deceived; but the woman, having been deceived, was in transgression.
กิญฺจาทมฺ ภฺรานฺติยุกฺโต นาภวตฺ โยษิเทว ภฺรานฺติยุกฺตา ภูตฺวาตฺยาจาริณี พภูวฯ
15 But she shall be preserved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with discretion.
ตถาปิ นารีคโณ ยทิ วิศฺวาเส เปฺรมฺนิ ปวิตฺรตายำ สํยตมนสิ จ ติษฺฐติ ตรฺหฺยปตฺยปฺรสววรฺตฺมนา ปริตฺราณํ ปฺราปฺสฺยติฯ
