1 Samuel 22

1 And David departed thence, and escaped to the cave of Adullam. And his brethren and all his father's house heard [it], and they went down thither to him.

Y yéndose David de allí, escapóse en la cueva de Odollam: lo cual como oyeron sus hermanos, y toda la casa de su padre, vinieron allí a él.

2 And every one in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one of embittered spirit collected round him; and he became a captain over them; and there were with him about four hundred men.

Y juntáronse con él todos los varones afligidos, y todo hombre que estaba adeudado, y todos los que estaban amargos de alma: y fue hecho capitán de ellos, y así tuvo consigo como cuatrocientos hombres.

3 And David went thence to Mizpeh in Moab, and said to the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth amongst you, till I know what God will do for me.

Y fuése David de allí a Maspa de Moab: y dijo al rey de Moab: Yo te ruego que mi padre y mi madre estén con vosotros, hasta que sepa lo que Dios hará de mí.

4 And he brought them before the king of Moab; and they abode with him all the while that David was in the stronghold.

Y trájoles en la presencia del rey de Moab: y habitaron con él todo el tiempo que David estuvo en la fortaleza.

5 And the prophet Gad said to David, Abide not in the stronghold; depart, and go into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hareth.

Y Gad profeta dijo a David: No te estés en esta fortaleza: pártete, y vete en tierra de Judá. Y David se partió, y vino al bosque de Haret.

6 And Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men that were with him. Now Saul was sitting in Gibeah under the tamarisk upon the height, having his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing by him.

Y oyó Saul como había parecido David y los que estaban con él. Y Saul estaba en Gabaa debajo de un árbol en Rama, y tenía su lanza en su mano, y todos sus criados estaban en derredor de él.

7 Then Saul said to his servants that stood by him, Hear now, ye Benjaminites: will the son of Jesse give every one of you also fields and vineyards? Will he make you all captains of thousands and captains of hundreds,

Y dijo Saul a sus criados, que estaban en derredor de él: Oíd ahora hijos de Jemini. ¿Os dará también a todos vosotros el hijo de Isaí tierras y viñas? ¿y haceros ha a todos vosotros capitanes y sargentos,

8 that all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that informs me when my son has made [a covenant] with the son of Jesse; and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or informs me that my son has stirred up my servant as a lier-in-wait against me, as at this day?

Que todos vosotros habéis conspirado contra mí, y no hay quien me descubra al oído, como mi hijo ha hecho alianza con el hijo de Isaí: ni hay alguno de vosotros que se duela de mí, y me descubra como mi hijo ha despertado a mi siervo contra mi, para que me aseche, como es este día?

9 Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.

Entonces Doeg Idumeo, que era señor sobre los siervos de Saul, respondió y dijo: Yo ví al hijo de Isaí, que vino a Nobe, a Aquimelec, hijo de Aquitob:

10 And he inquired of Jehovah for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.

Y él consultó por él a Jehová, y le dio provisión, y asimismo le dio la espada de Goliat el Filisteo.

11 Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests that were in Nob; and they came all of them to the king.

Y el rey envió por Aquimelec, hijo de Aquitob, sacerdote, y por toda la casa de su padre, los sacerdotes que estaban en Nobe: y todos vinieron al rey.

12 And Saul said, Hear now, son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord.

Y Saul le dijo: Oye ahora hijo de Aquitob. Y él dijo: Aquí estoy, señor mío.

13 And Saul said to him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me as a lier-in-wait, as at this day?

Y Saul le dijo: ¿Por qué habéis conspirado contra mí, tú, y el hijo de Isaí, cuando tú le diste pan, y espada, y consultaste por él a Dios, para que se levantase contra mí, y me asechase, como es este día?

14 And Ahimelech answered the king and said, And who is so faithful among all thy servants as David, who is the king's son-in-law, and has access to thy secret council, and is honourable in thy house?

Entonces Aquimelec respondió al rey, y dijo: ¿Y quién hay fiel entre todos tus siervos como lo es David, y yerno del rey, y que va por tu mandado, y es ilustre en tu casa?

15 Was it to-day that I began to inquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king charge anything to his servant, [nor] to all the house of my father; for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.

¿He comenzado yo desde hoy a consultar por él a Dios? Lejos sea de mí. No imponga el rey cosa a su siervo, ni a toda la casa de mi padre; porque tu siervo ninguna cosa sabe de este negocio, grande ni chica.

16 And the king said, Thou shalt certainly die, Ahimelech, thou, and all thy father's house.

Y el rey dijo: Sin duda morirás Aquimelec, tú y toda la casa de tu padre.

17 And the king said to the couriers that stood about him, Turn and put the priests of Jehovah to death; because their hand also is with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not inform me. But the servants of the king were not willing to put forth their hand to fall on the priests of Jehovah.

Entonces el rey dijo a la gente de su guardia, que estaban al rededor de él: Cercád y matád a los sacerdotes de Jehová: porque la mano de ellos es también con David: porque sabiendo ellos que huía, no me lo descubrieron. Mas los siervos del rey no quisieron extender sus manos para matar los sacerdotes de Jehová.

18 And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall on the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and fell on the priests, and put to death that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.

Entonces el rey dijo a Doeg: Vuelve tú, y arremete contra los sacerdotes. Y tornando Doeg Idumeo, arremetió contra los sacerdotes, y mató en aquel día ochenta y cinco varones, que vestían efod de lino.

19 And Nob, the city of the priests, he smote with the edge of the sword, both men and women, infants and sucklings, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword.

Y a Nobe, ciudad de los sacerdotes, puso a cuchillo, así hombres como mujeres, niños y mamantes, bueyes y asnos, y ovejas, todo a cuchillo.

20 And one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped, and fled after David.

Mas escapó uno de los hijos de Aquimelec, hijo de Aquitob, que se llamaba Abiatar, el cual huyó tras David.

21 And Abiathar informed David that Saul had slain Jehovah's priests.

Y Abiatar dio las nuevas a David, como Saul había muerto los sacerdotes de Jehová.

22 And David said to Abiathar, I knew it that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would certainly tell Saul: I am accountable for all the lives of thy father's house.

Y dijo David a Abiatar: Yo sabía que estando allí aquel día Doeg Idumeo, él lo había de hacer saber a Saul. Yo he dado causa contra todas las personas de la casa de tu padre.

23 Abide with me, fear not; for he that seeks my life seeks thy life; for with me thou art in safe keeping.

Quédate conmigo, no hayas temor: quien buscare mi alma, buscará también la tuya; porque tú estarás conmigo guardado.
