1 Samuel 2
1 And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart exulteth in Jehovah, my horn is lifted up in Jehovah; my mouth is opened wide over mine enemies; for I rejoice in thy salvation.
௧அப்பொழுது அன்னாள் ஜெபம்செய்து: “என்னுடைய இருதயம் யெகோவாவுக்குள் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கிறது; என்னுடைய பெலன் யெகோவாவுக்குள் உயர்ந்திருக்கிறது; என்னுடைய எதிரியின்மேல் என்னுடைய வாய் தைரியமாகப் பேசும்; உம்முடைய இரட்சிப்பினாலே சந்தோஷப்படுகிறேன்.
2 There is none holy as Jehovah, for there is none beside thee, neither is there any rock like our God.
௨யெகோவாவைப்போலப் பரிசுத்தமுள்ளவர் இல்லை; உம்மையல்லாமல் வேறொருவரும் இல்லை; எங்களுடைய தேவனைப்போல ஒரு கன்மலையும் இல்லை.
3 Do not multiply your words of pride, let not vain-glory come out of your mouth; For Jehovah is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
௩இனி மேட்டிமையான பேச்சைப் பேசாதிருங்கள்; அகந்தையான பேச்சு உங்களுடைய வாயிலிருந்து வெளியே வரவேண்டாம்; யெகோவா ஞானமுள்ள தேவன்; அவர் செயல்கள் யதார்த்தமல்லவா?
4 The bow of the mighty is broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength.
௪பலவான்களினுடைய வில் முறிந்தது; தள்ளாடினவர்களோ பெலத்தினால் வலிமையடைந்தனர்.
5 They that were full have hired themselves out for bread; and the hungry are [so] no more: Even the barren beareth seven, and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.
௫திருப்தியாக இருந்தவர்கள் அப்பத்திற்காக கூலிவேலை செய்கிறார்கள்; பசியாக இருந்தவர்களோ இனிப் பசியாக இருக்கமாட்டார்கள்; மலடியாயிருந்தவள் ஏழு பிள்ளைகளை பெற்றாள்; அநேகம் பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றவளோ இளைத்துப்போனாள்.
௬யெகோவா கொல்லுகிறவரும் உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறவருமாக இருக்கிறார்; அவரே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கவும் அதிலிருந்து ஏறவும்செய்கிறவர். (Sheol h7585)
7 Jehovah maketh poor, and maketh rich, he bringeth low, also he lifteth up:
௭யெகோவா தரித்திரம் அடையச்செய்கிறவரும், ஐசுவரியம் அடையச்செய்கிறவருமாக இருக்கிறார்; அவர் தாழ்த்துகிறவரும், உயர்த்துகிறவருமானவர்.
8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust; from the dung-hill he lifteth up the needy, To set [him] among nobles; and he maketh them inherit a throne of glory; For the pillars of the earth are Jehovah's, and he hath set the world upon them.
௮அவர் சிறியவனைப் புழுதியிலிருந்து எடுத்து, எளியவனைக் குப்பையிலிருந்து உயர்த்துகிறார்; அவர்களைப் பிரபுக்களோடு உட்காரவும், மகிமையுள்ள சிங்காசனத்தைச் சுதந்தரிக்கவும் செய்கிறார்; பூமியின் அஸ்திபாரங்கள் யெகோவாவுடையவைகள்; அவரே அவைகளின்மேல் உலகத்தை வைத்தார்.
9 He keepeth the feet of his saints, but the wicked are silenced in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.
௯அவர் தமது பரிசுத்தவான்களின் பாதங்களைக் காப்பார்; துன்மார்க்கர்கள் இருளிலே மெளனமாவார்கள்; பெலத்தினால் ஒருவனும் வெற்றிபெறுவதில்லை.
10 They that strive with Jehovah shall be broken to pieces; in the heavens will he thunder upon them. Jehovah will judge the ends of the earth; and he will give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.
௧0யெகோவாவோடு வாதாடுகிறவர்கள் நொறுக்கப்படுவார்கள்; வானத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள்மேல் முழக்கமிடுவார்; யெகோவா பூமியின் கடைசிவரை நியாயந்தீர்த்து, தாம் ஏற்படுத்தின ராஜாவுக்குப் பெலன் அளித்து, தாம் அபிஷேகம் செய்தவரின் பெலனை உயரச்செய்வார்” என்று துதித்தாள்.
11 And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the boy ministered to Jehovah in the presence of Eli the priest.
௧௧பின்பு எல்க்கானா ராமாவிலிருக்கிற தன்னுடைய வீட்டுக்குப்போனான்; அந்தப் பிள்ளையோ, ஆசாரியனாகிய ஏலிக்கு முன்பாகக் யெகோவாவுக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்துகொண்டிருந்தான்.
12 Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not Jehovah.
௧௨ஏலியின் மகன்கள் துன்மார்க்கத்தின் மனிதர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் யெகோவாவை அறியவில்லை.
13 And the priests' custom with the people was, when any man sacrificed a sacrifice, the priest's servant came, when the flesh was cooked, with a flesh-hook of three prongs in his hand;
௧௩அந்த ஆசாரியர்கள் மக்களை நடத்தினவிதம் என்னவென்றால், எவனாகிலும் ஒரு பலியைச் செலுத்தும் காலத்தில் இறைச்சி வேகும்போது, ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரன் மூன்று முனை கூருள்ள ஒரு ஆயுதத்தைத் தன்னுடைய கையிலே பிடித்துவந்து,
14 and he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or cauldron, or pot; the priest took of it all that the flesh-hook brought up. So they did in Shiloh to all the Israelites that came there.
௧௪அதினாலே, உலோகத்தட்டிலோ, பானையிலோ, மரத்தொட்டியிலோ, சட்டியிலோ குத்துவான்; அந்த ஆயுதத்தில் வருகிறதை ஆசாரியன் எடுத்துக்கொள்வான்; அப்படி அங்கே சீலோவிலே வருகிற இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கு எல்லாம் செய்தார்கள்.
15 Even before they burned the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest, and he will not accept sodden flesh of thee, but raw.
௧௫கொழுப்பைத் தகனம் செய்வதற்கு முன்னும், ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரன் வந்து பலியிடுகிற மனிதனை நோக்கி: ஆசாரியனுக்குப் பொரிக்கும்படி இறைச்சிகொடு; பச்சை இறைச்சியே அல்லாமல், வேக வைத்ததை உன்னுடைய கையிலே வாங்கமாட்டேன் என்பான்.
16 If the man said to him, They will immediately burn the fat entire, then take as thy soul desires; he would say [to him], No, but thou shalt give [it] now; and if not, I will take [it] by force.
௧௬அதற்கு அந்த மனிதன்: இன்று செய்யவேண்டியபடி முதலாவது கொழுப்பைத் தகனம் செய்யட்டும்; பிற்பாடு உன் மனவிருப்பத்தின்படி எடுத்துக்கொள் என்று சொன்னாலும்; அவன்: அப்படியல்ல, இப்பொழுதே கொடு, இல்லாவிட்டால் பலவந்தமாக எடுத்துக்கொள்வேன் என்பான்.
17 And the sin of the young men was very great before Jehovah, for men despised the offering of Jehovah.
௧௭ஆதலால் அந்த வாலிபர்களின் பாவம் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக மிகவும் பெரிதாக இருந்தது; மனிதர்கள் யெகோவாவுடைய காணிக்கையை வெறுப்பாக நினைத்தார்கள்.
18 And Samuel ministered before Jehovah, a boy girded with a linen ephod.
௧௮சாமுவேல் என்னும் பிள்ளை சணல்நூல் ஏபோத்தை அணிந்தவனாகக் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாகப் பணிவிடை செய்தான்.
19 And his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to sacrifice the yearly sacrifice.
௧௯அவனுடைய தாய் ஒவ்வொரு வருடந்தோறும் செலுத்தும் பலியைச் செலுத்துகிறதற்காக, தன்னுடைய கணவனோடு வரும்போதெல்லாம், அவனுக்கு ஒரு சின்னச் சட்டையைத் தைத்துக் கொண்டு வருவாள்.
20 And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, Jehovah give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to Jehovah. And they went to their own home.
௨0ஏலி எல்க்கானாவையும் அவனுடைய மனைவியையும் ஆசீர்வதித்து: இந்த பெண் யெகோவாவுக்கென்று ஒப்புக் கொடுத்ததற்குப் பதிலாகக் யெகோவா உனக்கு அவளாலே அனேகம் பிள்ளைகளைக் கொடுப்பாராக என்றான்; அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய இடத்திற்குத் திரும்பப் போய்விட்டார்கள்.
21 So Jehovah visited Hannah, and she conceived, and bore three sons and two daughters. And the boy Samuel grew before Jehovah.
௨௧அப்படியே யெகோவா அன்னாளுக்கு உதவிசெய்தார்; அவள் கர்ப்பந்தரித்து மூன்று மகன்களையும் இரண்டு மகள்களையும் பெற்றாள்; சாமுவேல் என்னும் பிள்ளை யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக வளர்ந்தான்.
22 And Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons were doing to all Israel, and that they lay with the women that served at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
௨௨ஏலி மிகுந்த வயதானவனாக இருந்தான்; அவன் தன்னுடைய மகன்கள் இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கெல்லாம் செய்கிற எல்லாவற்றையும், அவர்கள் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தின் வாசலில் கூட்டம் கூடுகிற பெண்களோடு தகாதஉறவு கொள்வதையும் கேள்விப்பட்டு,
23 And he said to them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil deeds from all this people.
௨௩அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியங்களைச் செய்கிறது என்ன? இந்த மக்கள் எல்லோரும் உங்கள் தீய செய்கைகளைச் சொல்லக்கேட்கிறேன்.
24 No, my sons, for it is no good report that I hear: ye make Jehovah's people transgress.
௨௪என்னுடைய மகன்களே, வேண்டாம்; நான் கேள்விப்படுகிற இந்தச் செய்தி நல்லதல்ல; யெகோவாவுடைய மக்கள் மீறி நடக்கிறதற்குக் காரணமாக இருக்கிறீர்களே.
25 If one man sin against another, God will judge him; but if a man sin against Jehovah, who shall intreat for him? But they hearkened not to the voice of their father, for Jehovah was minded to slay them.
௨௫மனிதனுக்கு விரோதமாக மனிதன் பாவம்செய்தால், நியாயாதிபதிகள் அதைத் தீர்ப்பார்கள்; ஒருவன் யெகோவாவுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவம்செய்தால், அவனுக்காக விண்ணப்பம் செய்கிறவன் யார் என்றான்; அவர்களோ தங்களுடைய தகப்பனுடைய சொல்லைக்கேட்காமல் போனார்கள்; அவர்களைக் கொலைசெய்வதற்கு யெகோவா சித்தமாக இருந்தார்.
26 And the boy Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with Jehovah and also with men.
௨௬பிள்ளையாகிய சாமுவேல், பெரியவனாக வளர்ந்து, யெகோவாவுக்கும் மனிதனுக்கும் பிரியமாக நடந்துகொண்டான்.
27 And there came a man of God to Eli and said to him, Thus saith Jehovah: Did I plainly reveal myself to the house of thy father when they were in Egypt, in Pharaoh's house,
௨௭தேவனுடைய மனிதன் ஒருவன் ஏலியினிடத்தில் வந்து: யெகோவா சொல்கிறது என்னவென்றால், உன்னுடைய முன்னோர்களின் வீட்டார்கள் எகிப்திலே பார்வோனின் வீட்டில் இருக்கும்போது, நான் என்னை அவர்களுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தி,
28 and choose him out of all the tribes of Israel, to be my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear the ephod before me? and I gave unto the house of thy father all the offerings by fire of the children of Israel.
௨௮என்னுடைய பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் பலியிடவும், தூபம் காட்டவும், என்னுடைய சமுகத்தில் ஏபோத்தை அணிந்துகொள்ளவும், இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களில் எல்லாம் அவனை எனக்கு ஆசாரியனாகத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, உன்னுடைய முன்னோர்களின் வீட்டார்களுக்கு இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுடைய தகனபலிகளையெல்லாம் கொடுக்கவில்லையா?
29 Wherefore do ye trample upon my sacrifice and upon mine oblation which I have commanded [in my] habitation? And thou honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the primest of all the oblations of Israel my people.
௨௯நான் தங்குமிடத்திலே செலுத்தும்படி நான் கட்டளையிட்ட என்னுடைய பலியையும், என்னுடைய காணிக்கையையும், நீங்கள் ஏன் உதைக்கிறீர்கள்? என்னுடைய மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின் காணிக்கைகளில் எல்லாம் சிறந்தவைகளைக்கொண்டு உங்களைக் கொழுக்கச்செய்ய, நீ என்னைவிட உன்னுடைய மகன்களை ஏன் மதிக்கிறாய் என்கிறார்.
30 Wherefore Jehovah the God of Israel saith, I said indeed, Thy house and the house of thy father should walk before me for ever. But now Jehovah saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
௩0ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்கிறதாவது: உன்னுடைய வீட்டார்களும் உன்னுடைய முன்னோர்களின் வீட்டார்களும் என்றைக்கும் என்னுடைய சந்நிதியில் நடந்துகொள்வார்கள் என்று நான் நிச்சயமாகச் சொல்லியிருந்தும், இனி அது எனக்குத் தூரமாக இருப்பதாக; என்னை மதிக்கிறவர்களை நானும் மதிப்பேன்; என்னை அசட்டை செய்கிறவர்கள் அசட்டை செய்யப்படுவார்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
31 Behold, days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father's house, that there shall not be an old man in thy house.
௩௧உன்னுடைய வீட்டில் ஒரு முதிர்வயதானவனும் இல்லாதபடி உன்னுடைய பெலனையும் உன்னுடைய தகப்பனுடைய வீட்டின் பெலனையும் நான் வெட்டிப்போடும் நாட்கள் வரும்.
32 And thou shalt see an oppressor [in my] habitation, amidst all the good that shall be done to Israel; and there shall not be an old man in thy house for ever.
௩௨இஸ்ரவேலுக்குச் செய்யப்படும் எல்லா நன்மைக்கும் மாறாக நான் தங்குமிடத்திலே உபத்திரவத்தைப் பார்ப்பாய்; ஒருபோதும் உன்னுடைய வீட்டில் ஒரு முதிர்வயதானவனும் இருப்பதில்லை.
33 And the man of thine [whom] I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to cause thine eyes to fail and to grieve thy soul; and all the increase of thy house shall die in their vigour.
௩௩என் பலிபீடத்தில் சேவிக்க, நான் உன்னுடைய சந்ததியில் நான் அழிக்காதவர்களோ, உன்னுடைய கண்களைப் பூத்துப்போகச்செய்யவும், உன் ஆத்துமாவை வேதனைப்படுத்தவும் வைக்கப்படுவார்கள்; உன்னுடைய வம்சத்திலுள்ள எல்லோரும் இளவயதிலே இறப்பார்கள்.
34 And this shall be the sign to thee, which shall come upon thy two sons, upon Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they shall die, both of them.
௩௪ஒப்னி பினெகாஸ் என்னும் உன்னுடைய இரண்டு மகன்களின்மேல் வருவதே உனக்கு அடையாளமாக இருக்கும்; அவர்கள் இருவரும் ஒரே நாளில் சாவார்கள்.
35 And I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, [who] shall do according to what is in my heart and in my mind; and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed continually.
௩௫நான் என்னுடைய உள்ளத்திற்கும் என்னுடைய சித்தத்திற்கும் தகுந்தபடி செய்யத்தக்க உண்மையான ஒரு ஆசாரியனை எழும்பச்செய்து, அவனுக்கு நிலையான வீட்டைக் கட்டுவேன்; அவன் என்னால் அபிஷேகம் செய்யப்பட்டவனுக்கு முன்பாக எல்லா நாட்களும் நடந்துகொள்வான்.
36 And it shall come to pass [that] every one that is left of thy house shall come to crouch to him for a small piece of silver and for a cake of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priestly offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.
௩௬அப்பொழுது உன்னுடைய வீட்டார்களில் மீதியாக இருப்பவன் எவனும் ஒரு வெள்ளிப் பணத்திற்காகவும் ஒரு அப்பத்துண்டுக்காகவும் அவனிடத்தில் வந்து பணிந்து: நான் கொஞ்சம் அப்பம் சாப்பிட ஏதாவது ஒரு ஆசாரிய ஊழியத்தில் என்னைச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளும் என்று கெஞ்சுவான் என்று சொல்கிறார் என்றான்.
