1 Peter 5
1 The elders which [are] among you I exhort, who [am their] fellow-elder and witness of the sufferings of the Christ, who also [am] partaker of the glory about to be revealed:
তোমাদের মধ্যে যে প্রাচীনেরা আছেন, তাদের কাছে আমিও একজন প্রাচীন, খ্রীষ্টের কষ্টভোগের সাক্ষী ও যে মহিমা প্রকাশিত হবে তার অংশীদাররূপে আমি মিনতি করছি,
2 shepherd the flock of God which [is] among you, exercising oversight, not by necessity, but willingly; not for base gain, but readily;
ঈশ্বরের যে পাল তোমাদের তত্ত্বাবধানে আছে, তাদের পালক হও—তত্ত্বাবধায়করূপে তাদের সেবা করো—বাধ্য হয়ে নয়, কিন্তু তোমরা ইচ্ছুক বলে, যেমন ঈশ্বর তোমাদের কাছে চান; অর্থের লালসায় নয়, কিন্তু সেবার আগ্রহ নিয়ে,
3 not as lording it over your possessions, but being models for the flock.
যাদের তোমাদের হাতে সমপর্ণ করা হয়েছে, তাদের উপরে প্রভুত্ব করার জন্য নয়, কিন্তু পালের কাছে আদর্শস্বরূপ হয়ে করো।
4 And when the chief shepherd is manifested ye shall receive the unfading crown of glory.
তাহলে, যখন প্রধান পালক প্রকাশিত হবেন, তোমরা মহিমার মুকুট লাভ করবে, যা কখনও ম্লান হবে না।
5 Likewise [ye] younger, be subject to [the] elder, and all of you bind on humility towards one another; for God sets himself against [the] proud, but to [the] humble gives grace.
সেভাবে যুবকেরা, তোমরা প্রাচীনদের বশ্যতাস্বীকার করো। তোমাদের মধ্যে প্রত্যেকেই পরস্পরের প্রতি নতনম্র আচরণ করো, কারণ, “ঈশ্বর অহংকারীদের প্রতিরোধ করেন, কিন্তু বিনম্রদের অনুগ্রহ-দান করেন।”
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in [the due] time;
সেই কারণে, ঈশ্বরের পরাক্রমী হাতের নিচে, নিজেদের নতনম্র করো, যেন তিনি উপযুক্ত সময়ে তোমাদের উন্নত করেন।
7 having cast all your care upon him, for he cares about you.
তোমাদের সমস্ত দুশ্চিন্তার ভার তাঁরই উপরে দিয়ে দাও, কারণ তিনি তোমাদের জন্য চিন্তা করেন।
8 Be vigilant, watch. Your adversary [the] devil as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour.
তোমরা আত্মসংযমী হও ও সতর্ক থাকো। তোমাদের শত্রু, সেই দিয়াবল, গর্জনকারী সিংহের মতো কাকে গ্রাস করবে, তাকে চারদিকে খুঁজে বেড়াচ্ছে।
9 Whom resist, stedfast in faith, knowing that the selfsame sufferings are accomplished in your brotherhood which [is] in [the] world.
বিশ্বাসে অটল থেকে তোমরা তার প্রতিরোধ করো, কারণ তোমরা জানো যে, সমগ্র জগতে বিশ্বাসী মণ্ডলীও একই রকমের কষ্ট-লাঞ্ছনা ভোগ করছে।
10 But the God of all grace who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, when ye have suffered for a little while, himself shall make perfect, stablish, strengthen, ground: (aiōnios g166)
আর সমস্ত অনুগ্রহের ঈশ্বর, যিনি খ্রীষ্টে তাঁর অনন্ত মহিমা প্রদানের জন্য তোমাদের আহ্বান করেছেন, সাময়িক কষ্টভোগ করার পর তিনি স্বয়ং তোমাদের পুনঃপ্রতিষ্ঠিত করবেন এবং তোমাদের শক্তিশালী, সুদৃঢ় ও অবিচল করবেন। (aiōnios g166)

12 By Silvanus, the faithful brother, as I suppose, I have written to you briefly; exhorting and testifying that this is [the] true grace of God in which ye stand.
সীল, যাঁকে আমি বিশ্বস্ত ভাই বলে মনে করি, তাঁরই সাহায্য নিয়ে আমি তোমাদের উৎসাহ দিয়ে এই সংক্ষিপ্ত পত্র লিখেছি এবং সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছি যে, এই হল ঈশ্বরের প্রকৃত অনুগ্রহ। এতেই তোমরা স্থির থাকো।
13 She that is elected with [you] in Babylon salutes you, and Marcus my son.
তোমাদেরই সঙ্গে মনোনীত ব্যাবিলনবাসী সেই বোন তোমাদের প্রতি তাঁর শুভেচ্ছা জানাচ্ছেন। আমার পুত্রসম মার্ক-ও তাঁর শুভেচ্ছা জানাচ্ছেন।
14 Salute one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with you all who [are] in Christ.
প্রীতি-চুম্বনে তোমরা পরস্পরকে শুভেচ্ছা জানাও। তোমরা যতজন খ্রীষ্টে আছ, সকলের প্রতি শান্তি বর্তুক।
