1 Peter 2
1 Laying aside therefore all malice and all guile and hypocrisies and envyings and all evil speakings,
೧ಆದಕಾರಣ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವನ್ನೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಂಚನೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಕಪಟವನ್ನೂ, ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಕಿಚ್ಚನ್ನೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ತರದ ದೂಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಸರ್ಜಿಸಿರಿ.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
೨ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಶಿಶುಗಳಂತೆ ನೀವು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವೆಂಬ ಶುದ್ಧವಾದ ಆತ್ಮೀಕ ಹಾಲನ್ನು ಬಯಸಿರಿ. ಆದರಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುವಿರಿ.
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord [is] good.
೩ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ದಯಾಪರನೆಂದು ನೀವು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿ ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
4 To whom coming, a living stone, cast away indeed as worthless by men, but with God chosen, precious,
೪ನೀವು ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ಕಲ್ಲಾಗಿರುವಾತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಆ ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಜನರು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದರು ಆದರೆ ಅದು ದೇವರಿಂದ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದು ಮತ್ತು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು ಆಗಿದೆ.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
೫ನೀವು ಸಹ ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದು ಆತ್ಮೀಕವಾದ ಮಂದಿರವಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೀರಿ. ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮೂಲಕ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಕವಾದ ಆತ್ಮೀಕ ಯಜ್ಞಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಯಾಜಕ ವರ್ಗದವರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
೬“ಇಗೋ, ಚೀಯೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಲೆಗಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಇಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಅದು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅತ್ಯಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದದ್ದೂ. ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಡುವವನು ಅವಮಾನಪಡುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿದೆ.
7 To you therefore who believe [is] the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of [the] corner,
೭ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಂಬುವವರಾದ ನಿಮಗೇ ಈ ಕಲ್ಲು ಅತ್ಯಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದುದು. ಆದರೆ ನಂಬದೆಯಿರುವವರಿಗೆ, “ಮನೆಕಟ್ಟುವವರು ಬೇಡವೆಂದು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕಲ್ಲೇ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದ ಮೂಲೆಗಲ್ಲಾಯಿತು”
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; [who] stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
೮ಮತ್ತು ಪವಿತ್ರಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೊಂದೆಡೆ ಬರೆದಿರುವುದೇನಂದರೆ, “ಅದು ಜನರು ಎಡವುವ ಕಲ್ಲು ಮುಗ್ಗರಿಸುವ ಬಂಡೆ.” ಅವರು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಿಧೇಯರಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ಎಡವಿ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
9 But ye [are] a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
೯ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಲೆಯೊಳಗಿನಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಕರವಾದ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಕರೆದಾತನ ಅದ್ಭುತಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಚಾರಮಾಡುವವರಾಗುವಂತೆ ನೀವು ದೇವರಿಂದ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಜನಾಂಗವೂ, ರಾಜವಂಶಸ್ಥರಾದ ಯಾಜಕರೂ, ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಜನಾಂಗವೂ, ದೇವರ ಸ್ವಕೀಯ ಜನರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
10 who once [were] not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
೧೦ಮೊದಲು ನೀವು ಪ್ರಜೆಯಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈಗಲಾದರೂ ದೇವರ ಸ್ವಕೀಯಪ್ರಜೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಮೊದಲು ನೀವು ಕರುಣೆ ಹೊಂದಿದವರಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈಗಲಾದರೂ ಕರುಣೆ ಹೊಂದಿದವರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
11 Beloved, I exhort [you], as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
೧೧ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ, ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪರದೇಶಸ್ಥರು ಆಗಿರುವ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮದ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡುವ ಶಾರೀರಿಕ ದುರಾಶೆಗಳಿಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that [as to that] in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through [your] good works, [themselves] witnessing [them], glorify God in [the] day of visitation.
೧೨ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯು ಅನ್ಯಜನರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾಗಿರಲಿ, ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯಾವ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೆಟ್ಟವರೆಂದು ನಿಂದಿಸುತ್ತಾರೋ ಆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸತ್ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣಾರೆ ಕಂಡು ಆತನ ಬರೋಣದ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುವರು.
13 Be in subjection [therefore] to every human institution for the Lord's sake; whether to [the] king as supreme,
೧೩ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ನೇಮಿಸಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೂ ಕರ್ತನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನೀವು ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿರಿ. ಸರ್ವಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಅರಸನಿಗಾಗಲಿ
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
೧೪ಅಥವಾ ಅರಸನಿಂದ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ನಡತೆಯುಳ್ಳವರನ್ನು ದಂಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆ ನಡತೆಯುಳ್ಳವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಂಥ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಲಿ ನೀವು ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿರಿ.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
೧೫ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಮೂಢ ಜನರ ಬಾಯನ್ನು ನೀವು ಒಳ್ಳೆ ನಡತೆಯಿಂದ ಮುಚ್ಚಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬುದು ದೇವರ ಚಿತ್ತ.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
೧೬ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರಂತೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ಆದರೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ, ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ದೇವರ ದಾಸರಂತೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
೧೭ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಿರಿ. ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿರಿ. ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡಿರಿ. ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಿರಿ.
18 Servants, [be] subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
೧೮ಸೇವಕರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನರಿಗೆ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಗೌರವದಿಂದ ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿರಿ. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರೂ ಸಾತ್ವಿಕರೂ ಆಗಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ವಕ್ರಬುದ್ಧಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಿಗೂ ವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿರಿ.
19 For this [is] acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
೧೯ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ ಬಾಧೆಪಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ದೇವರು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ಅರಿತು ಆ ಕಷ್ಟವನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅದು ಶ್ಲಾಘ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.
20 For what glory [is it], if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear [it]? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear [it], this is acceptable with God.
೨೦ತಪ್ಪುಮಾಡಿ ಗುದ್ದು ತಿನ್ನುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅದರಿಂದೇನು ಕೀರ್ತಿ? ಆದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಬಾಧೆಪಡುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅದು ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಶ್ಲಾಘ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
೨೧ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ನೀವು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಸಹ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಬಾಧೆಯನ್ನನುಭವಿಸಿ ನೀವು ಆತನ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯ ಜಾಡಿಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮಾದರಿಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿ ಹೋದನು.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
೨೨ಆತನು ಯಾವ ಪಾಪವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಆತನ ಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ವಂಚನೆಯೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಲಿಲ್ಲ.
23 who, [when] reviled, reviled not again; [when] suffering, threatened not; but gave [himself] over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
೨೩ಬಯ್ಯುವವರನ್ನು ಆತನು ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಬಯ್ಯಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಆತನು ಬಾಧೆಯನ್ನನುಭವಿಸಿದಾಗ ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಬೆದರಿಸದೆ, ನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ ತೀರ್ಪು ಮಾಡುವಾತನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
೨೪ನಾವು ಪಾಪದ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಸತ್ತು ನೀತಿವಂತರಾಗಿ ಜೀವಿಸುವಂತೆ ಆತನು ನಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ತನ್ನ ದೇಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಶಿಲುಬೆಯನ್ನು ಏರಿ ಮರಣ ಹೊಂದಿದನು. ಆತನ ಬಾಸುಂಡೆಗಳಿಂದ ನಮಗೆ ಗುಣವಾಯಿತು.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
೨೫ನೀವು ದಾರಿತಪ್ಪಿದ ಕುರಿಗಳಂತೆ ಇದ್ದವರು. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನೀವು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮಗಳ ಕುರುಬನೂ ಪಾಲಕನೂ ಆಗಿರುವಾತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
