1 Kings 15
1 And in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat began Abijam to reign over Judah.
Abiam comenzó a reinar sobre Judá el año diez y ocho del rey Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat,
2 He reigned three years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Maachah, a daughter of Abishalom.
y reinó tres años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Maacá, hija de Abisalom.
3 And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father.
Anduvo en todos los pecados que su padre había cometido antes de él, y su corazón no estuvo enteramente con Yahvé su Dios, como el corazón de su padre David.
4 But for David's sake Jehovah his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, setting up his son after him, and establishing Jerusalem;
Pero por amor de David le dio Yahvé, su Dios, una lámpara en Jerusalén, elevando a su hijo después de él, y dejando aún en pie a Jerusalén;
5 because David did that which was right in the sight of Jehovah, and turned not aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Urijah the Hittite.
porque David había hecho lo que era recto a los ojos de Yahvé, y en nada se había apartado de los mandamientos, todos sus días, salvo el caso de Urías heteo.
6 And there had been war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
Mas hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam mientras vivió aquel.
7 And the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
Los demás hechos de Abiam, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no se halla escrito en el libro de los anales de los reyes de Judá? Hubo también guerra entre Abiam y Jeroboam.
8 And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David. And Asa his son reigned in his stead.
Abiam se durmió con sus padres y lo sepultaron en la ciudad de David. Reinó, en su lugar, su hijo Asá.
9 And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa began to reign over Judah;
El año veinte de Jeroboam, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Asá sobre Judá.
10 and he reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Maachah, daughter of Abishalom.
Reinó cuarenta y un años en Jerusalén; y el nombre de su madre era Maacá, hija de Abisalom.
11 And Asa did what was right in the sight of Jehovah, as David his father.
Asá hizo lo que era recto a los ojos de Yahvé, como David su padre.
12 And he put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his father had made.
Extirpó del país la prostitución cultual de hombres y quitó todos los ídolos que habían hecho sus padres.
13 And also Maachah his mother he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol for the Asherah; and Asa cut down her idol, and burned it in the valley of Kidron.
Quitó también a su madre Maacá la dignidad de reina, porque ella había hecho un ídolo abominable en honor de Aschera. Asá hizo pedazos el ídolo abominable y lo quemó en el valle del Cedrón.
14 But the high places were not removed; only, Asa's heart was perfect with Jehovah all his days.
Pero los lugares altos no desaparecieron, aunque el corazón de Asá estuvo enteramente con Yahvé todos sus días.
15 And he brought into the house of Jehovah the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which he himself had dedicated, silver and gold and vessels.
Llevó a la Casa de Yahvé las cosas consagradas por su padre, y las cosas consagradas por él mismo: plata, oro y vasos.
16 And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
Hubo guerra entre Asá y Baasá, rey de Israel, durante toda su vida.
17 And Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, in order to let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
Pues Baasá, rey de Israel, subió contra Judá y fortificó a Ramá para impedir la salida y la entrada a la gente de Asá, rey de Judá.
18 And Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and in the treasures of the king's house, and gave them into the hand of his servants; and king Asa sent them to Ben-Hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who dwelt at Damascus, saying,
Entonces Asá tomó toda la plata y el oro que había quedado en los tesoros de la Casa de Yahvé y en los tesoros de la casa del rey y lo entregó en manos de sus siervos, a los cuales envió a Benhadad, hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hesión, rey de Siria, que residía en Damasco, con este mensaje:
19 There is a league between me and thee, [as] between my father and thy father; behold, I send thee a present of silver and gold: go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
“Haya alianza entre mí y ti, como la hubo entre mi padre y tu padre. He aquí que te envío un regalo de plata y oro. Anda, pues, y rompe tu alianza con Baasá, rey de Israel, para que este se retire de mí.”
20 And Ben-Hadad hearkened to king Asa, and sent the captains of his forces against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and all Kinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
Benhadad escuchó al rey Asá, y envió los jefes de su ejército contra las ciudades de Israel, y batió a Iyón, a Dan, a Abel-Betmaacá y a todo Kinerot con todo el país de Neftalí.
21 And it came to pass when Baasha heard of it, that he left off building Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
Cuando Baasá supo esto, cesó de edificar a Ramá y se retiró a Tirsá.
22 And king Asa called together all Judah: none was exempted; and they carried away the stones and the timber from Ramah, with which Baasha had been building; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
Entonces el rey Asá convocó a toda Judá, sin exceptuar a nadie, y se llevaron de Ramá las piedras y la madera que Baasá había empleado en la fortificación; y con ellas fortificó el rey Asá a Gabaá de Benjamín y a Masfá.
23 And the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Only, in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
Todos los demás hechos de Asá, todo su poderío, todo lo que hizo, y las ciudades que edificó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de los anales de los reyes de luda? Siendo ya viejo enfermó de los pies.
24 And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father. And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.
Y se durmió Asá con sus padres, y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David, su padre. Reinó en su lugar Josafat, su hijo.
25 And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years.
Nadab, hijo de Jeroboam, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel el año segundo de Asá, rey de Judá, y reinó dos años sobre Israel.
26 And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin with which he made Israel sin.
Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, andando en el camino de su padre y en el pecado que su padre había hecho cometer a Israel.
27 And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which [belonged] to the Philistines, when Nadab and all Israel were besieging Gibbethon.
Baasá, hijo de Ahías, de la casa de Isacar, hizo conspiración contra él, y lo mató en Gebetón que pertenecía a los filisteos, al tiempo que Nadab y todo Israel estaban sitiando a Gebetón.
28 And Baasha slew him in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
Baasá le mató el año tercero de Asá, rey de Judá, y reinó en su lugar.
29 And it came to pass when he was king, he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left to Jeroboam none that breathed; until he had destroyed him, according to the word of Jehovah which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite,
Apenas llegado a reinar, mató a todos los de la casa de Jeroboam, no dejando sin destruir a ninguna alma viviente de (la casa de) Jeroboam, según la palabra que Yahvé había dicho por boca de su siervo Ahías silonita,
30 because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and wherewith he made Israel to sin; by his provocation with which he provoked Jehovah the God of Israel to anger.
a causa de los pecados que Jeroboam había cometido y los que había hecho cometer a Israel, y a causa de la provocación con que había irritado a Yahvé el Dios de Israel.
31 And the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Los demás hechos de Nadab, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de los anales de los reyes de Israel?
32 And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
Y hubo guerra entre Asá y Baasá, rey de Israel, durante toda su vida.
33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, for twenty-four years.
El año tercero del rey Asá de Judá, Baasá, hijo de Ahías, comenzó a reinar sobre todo Israel en Tirsá. Reinó veinticuatro años;
34 And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin where with he made Israel to sin.
e hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, andando en el camino de Jeroboam y en el pecado que este había hecho cometer a Israel.
