< 1 John 3 >
1 See what love the Father has given to us, that we should be called [the] children of God. For this reason the world knows us not, because it knew him not.
Ikussaçue nolaco charitatea guri eman draucun Aitac, baita, Iaincoaren haur deitha gaitecen: halacotz munduac ezgaitu eçagutzen, ceren ezpaitu hura eçagutzen.
2 Beloved, now are we children of God, and what we shall be has not yet been manifested; we know that if it is manifested we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
Maiteác, orain Iaincoaren haour gara, baina oraino ezta aguertu içanen garena: badaquigu ordea ecen hura aguer dadinean, hura irudico dugula: ecen den beçala ikussiren duquegu hura.
3 And every one that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
Eta norc-ere sperança haur baitu hura baithan, purificatzen du bere buruä, hura-ere pur den beçala.
4 Every one that practises sin practises also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
Norc-ere bekatu eguiten baitu, Leguearen contra-ere eguiten du: eta bekatua da Leguearen contra dena.
5 And ye know that he has been manifested that he might take away our sins; and in him sin is not.
Eta badaquiçue ecen hura aguertu içan dela gure bekatuac ken litzançát, eta bekaturic hura baithan eztela.
6 Whoever abides in him, does not sin: whoever sins, has not seen him or known him.
Hura baithan egoiten denec eztu bekaturic eguiten: norc-ere bekatu eguiten baitu, eztu ikussi hura, eta eztu eçagutu hura.
7 Children, let no man lead you astray; he that practises righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
Haourtoác, nehorc seduci etzaitzatela: iustitia eguiten duena, iusto da, hura iusto den beçala.
8 He that practises sin is of the devil; for from [the] beginning the devil sins. To this end the Son of God has been manifested, that he might undo the works of the devil.
Bekatu eguiten duena, deabruaganic da: ecen hatseandanic deabruac bekatu eguiten du: hunetacotz aguertu içan da Iaincoaren Semea, deseguin litzançát deabruaren obrác.
9 Whoever has been begotten of God does not practise sin, because his seed abides in him, and he cannot sin, because he has been begotten of God.
Nor-ere iayo içan baita Iaincoaganic, harc bekaturic eztu eguiten: ecen haren hacia haina baithan dago, eta ecin daidi bekaturic, ceren Iaincoaganic iayo içan baita.
10 In this are manifest the children of God and the children of the devil. Whoever does not practise righteousness is not of God, and he who does not love his brother.
Hunetan agueri dirade Iaincoaren haourrac eta deabruaren haourrac: norc-ere iustitia ezpaitu eguiten, eta ezpaitu bere anayea onhesten hura ezta Iaincoaganic.
11 For this is the message which ye have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another:
Ecen haur da hatseandanic ençun vkan duçuen mandatalgoá, Elkarri on eritzi dieçogun.
12 not as Cain was of the wicked one, and slew his brother; and on account of what slew he him? because his works were wicked, and those of his brother righteous.
Ez Cainec beçala, cein baitzén Gaichtoaganic, eta ceinec hil baitzuen bere anayea. Eta cergatic hil vkan çuen? ceren haren obrác gaichto baitziraden, eta haren anayearenac iusto.
13 Do not wonder, brethren, if the world hate you.
Ene anayeác, ezteçaçuela mirets baldin çuey gaitz badaritzue munduac.
14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love [his] brother abides in death.
Guc badaquigu ecen iragan garela heriotic vicitzera, ecen on dariztegu anayey: anayeari on eztaritzana, herioan dago.
15 Every one that hates his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. (aiōnios )
Norc-ere gaitz baitaritza bere anayeri hura guicerhaile da: eta badaquiçue guicerhailec batec-ere eztuela vicitze eternal bere baithan dagoena. (aiōnios )
16 Hereby we have known love, because he has laid down his life for us; and we ought for the brethren to lay down [our] lives.
Hunetan eçagutu vkan dugu charitatea, ceren harc bere vicia guregatic eçarri vkan baitu, guc-ere beraz gure viciac anayeacgatic eçarri behar ditugu.
17 But whoso may have the world's substance, and see his brother having need, and shut up his bowels from him, how abides the love of God in him?
Bada norc vkanen baituque munduco onetaric, eta ikussiren baituque haren anayeac necessitate duqueela eta ertsiren baitrautza bere halsarrac, nolatan Iaincoaren charitatea egoiten da hura baithan?
18 Children, let us not love with word, nor with tongue, but in deed and in truth.
Ene haourtoác, ezteçagula on eritzi hitzez ezeta mihiz, baina obraz eta eguiaz:
19 And hereby we shall know that we are of the truth, and shall persuade our hearts before him —
Eta hunetan eçagutzen dugu ecen eguiatic garela, eta haren aitzinean seguraturen ditugu gure bihotzac.
20 that if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart and knows all things.
Ecen baldin condemna baguitza gure bihotzac, handiago da Iaincoa gure bihotza baino, eta eçagutzen ditu gauça guciac.
21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness towards God,
Maiteác, baldin gure bihotzac condemnatzen ezpagaitu, segurança dugu Iaincoa baithan.
22 and whatsoever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments, and practise the things which are pleasing in his sight.
Eta ceren-ere esca bagaitez, recebitzen dugu harenganic: ecen haren manamenduac beguiratzen ditugu, eta haren aitzinean placént diraden gauçác eguiten ditugu.
23 And this is his commandment, that we believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and that we love one another, even as he has given us commandment.
Eta haur da haren manamendua, Sinhets deçagun Iesus Christ haren Semearen icenean, eta elkarri on daritzogun, manamendu eman dracun beçala.
24 And he that keeps his commandments abides in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given to us.
Eta haren manamenduac beguiratzen dituena, hura baithan egoiten da, eta hura haina baithan: eta huneçaz eçagutzen dugu ecen hura egoiten dela gutan, da iaquiteco, eman vkan draucun Spirituaz.
