1 Corinthians 5
1 It is universally reported [that there is] fornication among you, and such fornication as [is] not even among the nations, so that one should have his father's wife.
Estão dizendo que há imoralidade sexual entre vocês, certos tipos de atos imorais que nem mesmo os não-judeus praticam. Um homem está tendo relações sexuais com a própria madrasta!
2 And ye are puffed up, and ye have not rather mourned, in order that he that has done this deed might be taken away out of the midst of you.
E ainda assim vocês têm tanto orgulho de si mesmos! Vocês não deveriam ter chorado de tristeza e ter excluído o homem que fez isso?
3 For I, [as] absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged as present,
Mesmo que eu não esteja fisicamente aí presente, eu estou em espírito. E exatamente como se eu estivesse presente, já julguei aquele que cometeu esse ato.
4 [to deliver, ] in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (ye and my spirit being gathered together, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ), him that has so wrought this:
Quando vocês se reunirem em nome do Senhor Jesus, eu estarei aí com vocês em espírito e com o poder do nosso Senhor Jesus.
5 to deliver him, [I say, ] [being] such, to Satan for destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
Entreguem esse homem a Satanás, para que a sua natureza pecaminosa possa ser destruída e para que ele mesmo possa ser salvo no dia do Senhor.
6 Your boasting [is] not good. Do ye not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?
Vocês não deveriam se orgulhar disso. Vocês não sabem que só é necessário um pouco de fermento para que toda a massa cresça?
7 Purge out the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, according as ye are unleavened. For also our passover, Christ, has been sacrificed;
Livrem-se desse fermento velho, para que vocês possam se transformar em uma nova massa para fazer pães sem fermento. Cristo, o nosso cordeiro da Páscoa, foi sacrificado.
8 so that let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of malice and wickedness, but with unleavened [bread] of sincerity and truth.
Então, vamos comemorar esta festa, não com o velho fermento ou com o fermento da maldade e da perversidade, mas, sim, com o pão feito sem fermento, o pão da sinceridade e da verdade.
9 I have written to you in the epistle not to mix with fornicators;
Na outra carta que escrevi a vocês, eu disse que não deveriam se ligar a pessoas imorais.
10 not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the avaricious and rapacious, or idolaters, since [then] ye should go out of the world.
Eu não estava me referindo às pessoas imorais deste mundo, as que são gananciosas e que enganam os outros, ou que adoram ídolos. Pois se fosse assim, vocês precisariam sair deste mundo.
11 But now I have written to you, if any one called brother be fornicator, or avaricious, or idolater, or abusive, or a drunkard, or rapacious, not to mix with [him]; with such a one not even to eat.
O que eu quis dizer, quando escrevi, foi que vocês não deveriam ter nada a ver com quem se diz cristão, mas que é imoral, ganancioso, ou que adora ídolos; ou é bêbado, ou que engana os outros. Nem mesmo compartilhem uma refeição com alguém assim!
12 For what have I [to do] with judging those outside also? ye, do not ye judge them that are within?
Não cabe a mim julgar os que não são da igreja. Mas, vocês não deveriam julgar aqueles que fazem parte da igreja?
13 But those without God judges. Remove the wicked person from amongst yourselves.
Deixe que Deus julgue os que não fazem parte da igreja. Expulsem esse homem mau do meio de vocês.
