< 1 Chronicles 18 >

1 And after this it came to pass that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and its towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
E depois d'isto aconteceu que David feriu os philisteos, e os abateu; e tomou a Gath, e os logares da sua jurisdicção, da mão dos philisteos.
2 And he smote the Moabites; and the Moabites became David's servants, [and] brought gifts.
Tambem feriu os moabitas: e os moabitas ficaram servos de David, trazendo presentes.
3 And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah, at Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.
Tambem David feriu a Hadar-ezer, rei de Zoba, junto a Hamath, indo elle estabelecer os seus dominios pelo Euphrates.
4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David houghed all the chariot [horses], but reserved of them [for] a hundred chariots.
E David lhe tomou mil cavallos de carros, e sete mil cavalleiros, e vinte mil homens de pé: e David jarretou todos os cavallos dos carros; porém reservou d'elles cem cavallos.
5 And the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, and David smote of the Syrians twenty-two thousand men.
E vieram os syros de Damasco a ajudar a Hadar-ezer, rei de Zoba: porém dos syros feriu David vinte e dois mil homens.
6 And David put [garrisons] in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, [and] brought gifts. And Jehovah preserved David whithersoever he went.
E David poz guarnições em Syria de Damasco, e os syros ficaram servos de David, trazendo presentes: e o Senhor guardava a David, por onde quer que ia.
7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
E tomou David os escudos de oiro, que tinham os servos de Hadar-ezer, e os trouxe a Jerusalem.
8 And from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much brass, of which Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
Tambem de Tibhath, e de Chun, cidades de Hadar-ezer, tomou David muitissimo cobre, de que Salomão fez o mar de cobre, e as columnas, e os vasos de cobre.
9 And Tou king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the forces of Hadarezer king of Zobah;
E ouvindo Tou, rei de Hamath, que David destruira todo o exercito de Hadar-ezer, rei de Zoba,
10 and he sent Hadoram his son to king David to inquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer and smitten him; for Hadarezer was continually at war with Tou; [he sent] also all manner of vessels of gold and silver and bronze.
Mandou seu filho Hadoram a David, para lhe perguntar como estava, e para o abençoar, por haver pelejado com Hadar-ezer, e o destruir (porque Hadar-ezer fazia guerra a Tou), enviando-lhe juntamente toda a sorte de vasos de oiro, e de prata, e de cobre.
11 Them also king David dedicated to Jehovah, with the silver and the gold that he had brought from all the nations: from the Edomites, and from the Moabites, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from the Amalekites.
Os quaes David tambem consagrou ao Senhor, juntamente com a prata e oiro que trouxera de todas as mais nações: dos idumeos, e dos moabitas, e dos filhos de Ammon, e dos philisteos, e dos amalekitas.
12 And Abishai the son of Zeruiah smote of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.
Tambem Abisai, filho de Zeruia, feriu a dezoito mil idumeos no Valle do Sal.
13 And he put garrisons in Edom; and all they of Edom became servants to David. And Jehovah preserved David whithersoever he went.
E poz guarnição em Edom, e todos os idumeos ficaram servos de David: e o Senhor guardava a David, por onde quer que ia.
14 And David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice to all his people.
E David reinou sobre todo o Israel: e fazia juizo e justiça a todo o seu povo.
15 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was chronicler;
E Joab, filho de Zeruia, tinha cargo do exercito: e Josaphat, filho de Ahilud, era chanceller.
16 and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
E Zadok, filho de Ahitub, e Abimelech, filho de Abiathar, eram sacerdotes: e Sausa escrivão.
17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were the first at the king's hand.
E Benaias, filho de Joiada, tinha cargo dos cheretheos e peletheos: porém os filhos de David, os primeiros, estavam á mão do rei.
