< Romans 8 >

1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who are not walking according to the flesh.
THERE is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath liberated me from the law of sin and of death.
3 For though this was impossible under the law, because it was weakened by the flesh, God sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and because of sin, in order to condemn sin in the flesh,
For that which was impossible by the law, inasmuch as it was impotent through the flesh, God having sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in that flesh:
4 so that the justification of the law might be fulfilled in us. For we are not walking according to the flesh, but according to the spirit.
that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled by us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For those who are in agreement with the flesh are mindful of the things of the flesh. But those who are in agreement with the spirit are mindful of the things of the spirit.
For they who are after the flesh, mind the things of the flesh; but they who are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6 For the prudence of the flesh is death. But the prudence of the spirit is life and peace.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 And the wisdom of the flesh is inimical to God. For it is not subject to the law of God, nor can it be.
Because the propensity of the flesh is inimical against God: for it is not in subjection to the law of God, neither indeed can it be.
8 So those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.
They then who are in the flesh, cannot please God.
9 And you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if it is true that the Spirit of God lives within you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.
10 But if Christ is within you, then the body is indeed dead, concerning sin, but the spirit truly lives, because of justification.
But if Christ be in you, the body indeed is dead on account of sin; but the Spirit is alive through righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead lives within you, then he who raised up Jesus Christ from the dead shall also enliven your mortal bodies, by means of his Spirit living within you.
But if the Spirit of him who hath raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he who raised Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his indwelling Spirit in you.
12 Therefore, brothers, we are not debtors to the flesh, so as to live according to the flesh.
Truly then we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die. But if, by the Spirit, you mortify the deeds of the flesh, you shall live.
For if ye live after the flesh, ye are ready to die: but if by the Spirit ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For all those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.
For as many as are guided by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 And you have not received, again, a spirit of servitude in fear, but you have received the Spirit of the adoption of sons, in whom we cry out: “Abba, Father!”
For ye have not received a spirit of bondage again unto fear; but ye have received a Spirit of adoption, by which we cry, Abba, Father.
16 For the Spirit himself renders testimony to our spirit that we are the sons of God.
The same spirit beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.
17 But if we are sons, then we are also heirs: certainly heirs of God, but also co-heirs with Christ, yet in such a way that, if we suffer with him, we shall also be glorified with him.
But if children, then heirs; heirs indeed of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be we suffer with him, that we may also together with him be glorified.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this time are not worthy to be compared with that future glory which shall be revealed in us.
For I reckon that the sufferings of the present moment are not worthy to be placed against the future glory that shall be revealed to us.
19 For the anticipation of the creature anticipates the revelation of the sons of God.
For the eager expectation of the creation is waiting for the revelation of the children of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to emptiness, not willingly, but for the sake of the One who made it subject, unto hope.
For the creation was made subject to vanity, not voluntarily, but by him who made it subject,
21 For the creature itself shall also be delivered from the servitude of corruption, into the liberty of the glory of the sons of God.
in hope that the same creation shall be emancipated from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that every creature groans inwardly, as if giving birth, even until now;
For we know that the whole creation groaneth together and travaileth in birth to this moment.
23 and not only these, but also ourselves, since we hold the first-fruits of the Spirit. For we also groan within ourselves, anticipating our adoption as the sons of God, and the redemption of our body.
And not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan in ourselves, expecting the adoption, the redemption of our body.
24 For we have been saved by hope. But a hope which is seen is not hope. For when a man sees something, why would he hope?
For by hope we have been saved: now hope seen is not hope; for that which any man seeth how doth he yet hope for?
25 But since we hope for what we do not see, we wait with patience.
But if we hope for what we see not, we with patience expect it.
26 And similarly, the Spirit also helps our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself asks on our behalf with ineffable sighing.
In like manner also the Spirit affords assistance to our infirmities: for even this, what we should pray for as we ought, we know not: but the same Spirit more abundantly maketh intercession for us with groanings unutterable.
27 And he who examines hearts knows what the Spirit seeks, because he asks on behalf of the saints in accordance with God.
Now he that trieth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, for he maketh intercession for the saints according to God’s will.
28 And we know that, for those who love God, all things work together unto good, for those who, in accordance with his purpose, are called to be saints.
But we know that to those who love God all things work together for good, even to those who are called according to his purpose.
29 For those whom he foreknew, he also predestined, in conformity with the image of his Son, so that he might be the Firstborn among many brothers.
For whom he foreknew, he predestinated also to a conformity with the image of his Son, that he might be the first-begotten among many brethren.
30 And those whom he predestined, he also called. And those whom he called, he also justified. And those whom he justified, he also glorified.
But whom he predestinated, those also he called: and whom he called, those also he justified: but whom he justified, those also he glorified.
31 So, what should we say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
What then shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who shall be against us?
32 He who did not spare even his own Son, but handed him over for the sake of us all, how could he not also, with him, have given us all things?
He who even spared not his own Son, but freely delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also, together with him, freely give us all things?
33 Who will make an accusation against the elect of God? God is the One who justifies;
Who shall put in an accusation against the elect of God? God? He is their justifier.
34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus who has died, and who has indeed also risen again, is at the right hand of God, and even now he intercedes for us.
Who is he that condemneth? Christ? He died, yea, rather, also is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Then who will separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation? Or anguish? Or famine? Or nakedness? Or peril? Or persecution? Or the sword?
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall distress of circumstances, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword?
36 For it is as it has been written: “For your sake, we are being put to death all day long. We are being treated like sheep for the slaughter.”
As it is written, “That for thy sake we have been put to death the whole day long; we have been reckoned indeed as sheep for slaughter.”
37 But in all these things we overcome, because of him who has loved us.
But in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am certain that neither death, nor life, nor Angels, nor Principalities, nor Powers, nor the present things, nor the future things, nor strength,
For I am assured that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor those to come,
39 nor the heights, nor the depths, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
nor exaltation, nor deepest depression, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
