Psalms 91

1 The Praise of a Canticle, of David. Whoever dwells with the assistance of the Most High will abide in the protection of the God of heaven.

Onye ahụ na-ebi nʼebe mgbaba Onye kachasị ihe niile elu ga-ezu ike nʼokpuru ndo Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile.

2 He will say to the Lord, “You are my supporter and my refuge.” My God, I will hope in him.

Nke a ka m ga-ekwu maka Onyenwe anyị, “Ọ bụ ebe mgbaba m na ebe nchebe m e wusiri ike, Chineke m, onye m na-atụkwasị obi m.”

3 For he has freed me from the snare of those who go hunting, and from the harsh word.

Nʼezie, ọ ga-anapụta gị site nʼọnya nke onye osi ọnya na site nʼaka ajọ ọrịa na-efe efe na-eweta ịla nʼiyi.

4 He will overshadow you with his shoulders, and you will hope under his wings.

Ọ ga-eji nku ya kpuchie gị. Ọ bụkwa nʼokpuru nku ya abụọ, ka ị ga-agbaba zere ndụ, ikwesi ntụkwasị obi ya ga-echebe gị, ghọkwaara gị ọta.

5 His truth will surround you with a shield. You will not be afraid: before the terror of the night,

Ị gaghị atụ egwu ihe ịtụ oke egwu nke abalị, maọbụ àkụ na-efegharị nʼehihie,

6 before the arrow flying in the day, before the troubles that wander in the darkness, nor of invasion and the midday demon.

maọbụ ajọ ọrịa na-efe efe, nke na-ejegharị nʼọchịchịrị, ma ọ bụkwanụ ihe mbibi mberede na-eme nʼehihie.

7 A thousand will fall before your side and ten thousand before your right hand. Yet it will not draw near you.

Puku mmadụ pụrụ ịda nʼakụkụ gị, iri puku mmadụ nwekwara ike ịda nʼakụkụ aka nri gị, ma ihe ọjọọ ndị a agaghị erute gị nso.

8 So then, truly, you will consider with your eyes, and you will see the retribution of sinners.

Ọ bụ naanị anya gị abụọ ka ị ga-eji hụ ntaramahụhụ nke ndị ajọ omume.

9 For you, O Lord, are my hope. You have set the Most High as your refuge.

Ọ bụrụ na i mee Onye kachasị ihe niile elu ebe obibi gị, ọ bụladị Onyenwe anyị, onye bụ ebe mgbaba m,

10 Disaster will not draw near to you, and the scourge will not approach your tabernacle.

mgbe ahụ, ihe ọjọọ ọbụla enweghị ike ịdakwasị gị; ihe ike ọbụla enweghị ike ịbịaru ụlọ obibi gị nso.

11 For he has given his Angels charge over you, so as to preserve you in all your ways.

Nʼihi na ọ ga-enye ndị mmụọ ozi ya iwu banyere gị, ka ha chebe gị nʼụzọ gị niile.

12 With their hands, they will carry you, lest you hurt your foot against a stone.

Ha ga-eji ọbụ aka ha, bulie gị elu ime ka ị ghara ịkpọbi ụkwụ gị na nkume.

13 You will walk over the asp and the king serpent, and you will trample the lion and the dragon.

Ị ga-azọkwasị ọdụm na ajụala ụkwụ, zọgbukwaa ọdụm na-akpa ike, na agwọ ọjọọ.

14 Because he has hoped in me, I will free him. I will protect him because he has known my name.

“Nʼihi na ọ hụrụ m nʼanya, Mụ onwe m ga-agbapụta ya, ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru; aga m echebe ya, nʼihi na ọ maara aha m.

15 He will cry out to me, and I will heed him. I am with him in tribulation. I will rescue him, and I will glorify him.

Ọ ga-akpọku m, aga m azakwa ya. Aga m anọnyere ya nʼime nsogbu ya, aga m adọpụta, ma sọpụrụkwa ya.

16 I will fill him with length of days. And I will reveal to him my salvation.

Aga m eji ogologo ndụ mee ka afọ ju ya, gosikwa ya nzọpụta m.”
