< Psalms 87 >
1 A Canticle Psalm to the sons of Korah. Its foundations are in the holy mountains:
Faarfannaa Ilmaan Qooraahi. Hundeen magaalaa isaa tulluu qulqulluu irra jira.
2 the Lord loves the gates of Zion above all the tabernacles of Jacob.
Waaqayyo iddoo jireenya Yaaqoob hunda caalaa, karrawwan Xiyoon jaallata.
3 Glorious things are being said of you, O City of God.
Yaa magaalaa Waaqaa, waaʼee keetiif wanni kabajamaan akkana jedhamee ni dubbatama:
4 I will be mindful of Rahab and of Babylon knowing me. Behold, the foreigners, and Tyre, and the people of the Ethiopians: these have been there.
“Ani Raʼaabii fi Baabilonin warra na beekan gidduutti maqaa nan dhaʼa; kunoo, Filisxeemii fi Xiiroos Itoophiyaa wajjin, ‘Namichi kun achitti dhalate’ jedhu.”
5 Will not Zion say that this man and that man were born in her? And the Most High himself has founded her.
Dhugumaan waaʼee Xiyoon, “Inni kunii fi inni sun ishee keessatti dhalatan; Waaqni Waan Hunda Olii mataan isaa iyyuu ishee dhaaba” jedhama.
6 The Lord will explain, in the writings of peoples and of leaders, about those who have been in her.
Waaqayyo yeroo saboota galmeessutti, “Namichi kun achitti dhalate” jedhee barreessa.
7 For so the dwelling place within you is with all rejoicing.
Warri faarfatanii fi warri meeshaa muuziiqaa taphatan, “Burqaan koo hundi si keessatti argama” jedhu.
