1 Unto the end. For those who will be changed. The testimony of Asaph. A Psalm. The One who reigns over Israel: Be attentive. For you lead Joseph like a sheep. The One who sits upon the cherubim: Shine forth
Til songmeisteren, etter «Liljor»; eit vitnemål av Asaf, ein salme. Du Israels hyrding, vend øyra til! du som fører Josef som ei hjord, du som tronar yver kerubarne, syn deg herleg!
2 in the presence of Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh. Awaken your power and draw near, so as to accomplish our salvation.
Vekk upp ditt velde for Efraim og Benjamin og Manasse, og kom oss til hjelp!
3 Convert us, O God. And reveal your face, and we will be saved.
Gud, reis oss upp att, og lat ditt andlit lysa, so me vert frelste!
4 O Lord, God of hosts, how long will you be angry over the prayer of your servant?
Herre Gud, Allhers drott! Kor lenge du frøser av harm, endå folket ditt bed!
5 How long will you feed us the bread of tears, and give us to drink a full measure of tears?
Du gav deim tårebrød til å eta og tåror til å drikka i fullt mål.
6 You have set us as a contradiction to our neighbors. And our enemies have ridiculed us.
Du sette oss til eit trættemål for våre grannar, og våre fiendar spottar seg imillom.
7 O God of hosts, convert us. And reveal your face, and we will be saved.
Gud, allhers drott, reis oss upp att og lat ditt andlit lysa, so me vert frelste!
8 You have transferred a vineyard from Egypt. You have cast out the Gentiles, and planted it.
Eit vintre flutte du frå Egyptarland, du dreiv heidningar ut og planta det.
9 You were the leader of the journey in its sight. You planted its roots, and it filled the earth.
Du rudde rom for det, og det feste rot og fyllte landet.
10 Its shadow covered the hills, and its branches covered the cedars of God.
Fjell vart løynde av skuggen frå det, og Guds cedrar av greinerne.
11 It extended its new branches even to the sea, and its new seedlings even to the river.
Det strekte sine greiner ut til havet, og sine renningar burt imot elvi.
12 So then, why have you destroyed its walls, so that all those who pass by the way gather its grapes?
Kvi hev du rive ned gardarne ikring det, so alle som gjeng framum på vegen, plukkar av det?
13 The wild boar of the forest has trampled it, and a single wild beast has laid waste to it.

14 Turn back, O God of hosts. Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vineyard;
Gud, allhers drott, vend um att! skoda ned frå himmelen og sjå og vitja ditt vintre!
15 and complete what your right hand has planted, and look upon the son of man, whom you have confirmed for yourself.
og verna um det som di høgre hand hev planta, og um den son du hev valt deg ut!
16 Whatever has been set on fire and dug under will perish at the rebuke of your countenance.
Det er brent med eld, det er avhogge, for trugsl frå ditt andlit gjeng dei til grunnar.
17 Let your hand be over the man on your right, and over the son of man, whom you have confirmed for yourself.
Haldt di hand yver mannen ved di høgre hand, yver menneskjesonen som du hev valt deg ut,
18 For we do not depart from you, and you will revive us. And we will invoke your name.
so vil me ikkje vika frå deg! Gjer oss levande att, so vil me kalla på ditt namn!
19 O Lord, God of hosts, convert us. And reveal your face, and we will be saved.
