1 Unto the end. For those who will be changed. The testimony of Asaph. A Psalm. The One who reigns over Israel: Be attentive. For you lead Joseph like a sheep. The One who sits upon the cherubim: Shine forth

2 in the presence of Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh. Awaken your power and draw near, so as to accomplish our salvation.

3 Convert us, O God. And reveal your face, and we will be saved.

4 O Lord, God of hosts, how long will you be angry over the prayer of your servant?
Herre, Gud, hærskarenes Gud hvor lenge har du latt din vrede ryke uten å ense ditt folks bønn!
5 How long will you feed us the bread of tears, and give us to drink a full measure of tears?
Du har gitt dem tårebrød å ete og tårer å drikke i fullt mål.
6 You have set us as a contradiction to our neighbors. And our enemies have ridiculed us.
Du gjør oss til en trette for våre naboer, og våre fiender spotter med lyst.
7 O God of hosts, convert us. And reveal your face, and we will be saved.
Gud, hærskarenes Gud, reis oss op igjen, og la ditt åsyn lyse, så vi blir frelst!
8 You have transferred a vineyard from Egypt. You have cast out the Gentiles, and planted it.
Et vintre tok du op fra Egypten, du drev hedningefolk ut og plantet det.
9 You were the leader of the journey in its sight. You planted its roots, and it filled the earth.
Du ryddet op for det, og det festet sine røtter og fylte landet.
10 Its shadow covered the hills, and its branches covered the cedars of God.
Fjell blev skjult av dets skygge, og Guds sedrer av dets grener.
11 It extended its new branches even to the sea, and its new seedlings even to the river.
Det strakte ut sine grener til havet og sine skudd bort imot elven.
12 So then, why have you destroyed its walls, so that all those who pass by the way gather its grapes?
Hvorfor har du revet ned dets hegn, så alle de som går forbi på veien, plukker av det?
13 The wild boar of the forest has trampled it, and a single wild beast has laid waste to it.

14 Turn back, O God of hosts. Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vineyard;

15 and complete what your right hand has planted, and look upon the son of man, whom you have confirmed for yourself.
og vern om det som din høire hånd har plantet, og om den sønn du har utvalgt dig!
16 Whatever has been set on fire and dug under will perish at the rebuke of your countenance.
Det er brent med ild, det er avhugget; for ditt åsyns trusel går de under.
17 Let your hand be over the man on your right, and over the son of man, whom you have confirmed for yourself.
La din hånd være over den mann som er ved din høire hånd, over den menneskesønn du har utvalgt dig,
18 For we do not depart from you, and you will revive us. And we will invoke your name.
så vil vi ikke vike fra dig! Gjør oss levende igjen, så vil vi påkalle ditt navn!
19 O Lord, God of hosts, convert us. And reveal your face, and we will be saved.
