Psalms 77
1 Unto the end. For Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. I cried out to the Lord with my voice, to God with my voice, and he attended to me.
Керівнику хору, Єдутуну. Псалом Асафів. Голосом своїм я волатиму до Бога, голосом моїм – до Бога, і Він прислухається до мене.
2 In the days of my tribulation, I sought God, with my hands opposite him in the night, and I was not deceived. My soul refused to be consoled.
У день скорботи моєї я шукав Володаря; [цілу] ніч моя рука була простягнута й не затерпла. Моя душа відмовлялася від втіхи.
3 I was mindful of God, and I was delighted, and I was distressed, and my spirit fell away.
Згадаю про Бога – і охопить мене трепет; пороздумую – і знемагає дух мій. (Села)
4 My eyes anticipated the vigils. I was disturbed, and I did not speak.
Ти тримав розплющеними повіки очей моїх; я вражений і не можу говорити.
5 I considered the days of antiquity, and I held the years of eternity in my mind.
Подумав я про дні давноминулі, про роки давні.
6 And I meditated in the night with my heart, and I was distressed, and I examined my spirit.
Згадую наспіви мої вночі, із серцем своїм веду розмову, і дух мій дошукується:
7 So then, will God reject for eternity? Will he not continue to allow himself to show favor?
Невже навіки покинув [нас] Володар і більше не буде прихильним?
8 Or, will he cut off his mercy in the end, from generation to generation?
Невже назавжди зникла Його милість, припинилося Його слово на [всі] наступні покоління?
9 And would God ever forget to be merciful? Or, would he, in his wrath, restrict his mercies?
Хіба забув Бог, як милувати, чи замкнув у гніві милосердя Своє? (Села)
10 And I said, “Now I have begun. This change is from the right hand of the Most High.”
Тоді сказав я: «Що гнітить мене, так це те, що Всевишній змінив [дію] правиці Своєї щодо нас».
11 I was mindful of the works of the Lord. For I will be mindful from the beginning of your wonders,
Згадаю я про діяння Господа; нагадаю-но собі про чудеса стародавні.
12 and I will meditate on all your works. And I will take part in your intentions.
Споглядатиму всі справи Твої і про звершення Твої роздумувати буду.
13 Your way, O God, is in what is holy. Which God is great like our God?
Боже, у святості шлях Твій! Який бог настільки великий, як [наш] Бог?
14 You are the God who performs miracles. You have made your virtue known among the peoples.
Ти – Бог, Який творить чудеса; Ти з’явив могутність Свою серед народів.
15 With your arm, you have redeemed your people, the sons of Jacob and of Joseph.
Ти визволив рукою Своєю народ Твій, синів Якова і Йосифа. (Села)
16 The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you, and they were afraid, and the depths were stirred up.
Побачили Тебе води, Боже, побачили Тебе води й затремтіли, здригнулися безодні.
17 Great was the sound of the waters. The clouds uttered a voice. For your arrows also pass by.
Потоками лилася вода із темних хмар, свій голос подали хмарини, і стріли Твої розліталися.
18 The voice of your thunder is like a wheel. Your flashes have illuminated the whole world. The earth has quaked and trembled.
Гуркіт Твого грому на небокраї, спалахи блискавок освітлювали всесвіт, земля тремтіла й здригалася.
19 Your way is through the sea, and your paths are through many waters. And your traces will not be known.
Шлях Твій [пролягав] через море, і стежки Твої – через води великі, та слідів Твоїх не було видно.
20 You have conducted your people like sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
Ти вів, немов отару, народ Свій рукою Мойсея і Аарона.
