Psalms 77
1 Unto the end. For Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. I cried out to the Lord with my voice, to God with my voice, and he attended to me.
Jusqu'à la Fin. Psaume d'Asaph, sur Idithun. J'ai crié au Seigneur de ma voix; et ma voix est allée au Seigneur, et il a fait attention à moi.
2 In the days of my tribulation, I sought God, with my hands opposite him in the night, and I was not deceived. My soul refused to be consoled.
Au jour de mon affliction, j'ai cherché Dieu; la nuit, j'ai étendu vers lui les mains, et je n'ai pas été déçu. Mon âme ne voulait pas être consolée.
3 I was mindful of God, and I was delighted, and I was distressed, and my spirit fell away.
Je me suis souvenu de Dieu, et j'ai été réjoui; j'ai réfléchi comme un enfant, et mon esprit a défailli.
4 My eyes anticipated the vigils. I was disturbed, and I did not speak.
Tous mes ennemis surprenaient à l'improviste mes gardes; j'ai été troublé, et je n'ai point parlé.
5 I considered the days of antiquity, and I held the years of eternity in my mind.
J'ai considéré les jours antiques, et je me suis souvenu des années éternelles.
6 And I meditated in the night with my heart, and I was distressed, and I examined my spirit.
J'ai médité, et la nuit j'ai réfléchi en mon cœur, et je me suis creusé l'esprit, disant:
7 So then, will God reject for eternity? Will he not continue to allow himself to show favor?
Est-ce que le Seigneur me repoussera toujours? est-ce qu'il ne se complaira plus en moi?
8 Or, will he cut off his mercy in the end, from generation to generation?
Est-ce que, jusqu'à la fin, il privera de sa miséricorde les générations des générations?
9 And would God ever forget to be merciful? Or, would he, in his wrath, restrict his mercies?
Dieu oubliera-t-il de s'apitoyer? Confondrait-il sa miséricorde avec sa colère?
10 And I said, “Now I have begun. This change is from the right hand of the Most High.”
Et j'ai dit: Maintenant j'ai commencé; ceci est le changement de la droite du Très-Haut.
11 I was mindful of the works of the Lord. For I will be mindful from the beginning of your wonders,
Je me suis souvenu des œuvres du Seigneur, et je me souviendrai de tes merveilles dès le commencement.
12 and I will meditate on all your works. And I will take part in your intentions.
Et je méditerai sur toutes tes œuvres, et je réfléchirai sur tes conseils.
13 Your way, O God, is in what is holy. Which God is great like our God?
O Dieu, ta voie est dans la sainteté; quel Dieu est grand comme notre Dieu?
14 You are the God who performs miracles. You have made your virtue known among the peoples.
Tu es le Dieu qui fait tes merveilles; tu as fait connaître aux peuples ta puissance.
15 With your arm, you have redeemed your people, the sons of Jacob and of Joseph.
Par ton bras, tu as délivré ton peuple, les fils de Jacob et de Joseph.
16 The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you, and they were afraid, and the depths were stirred up.
Les eaux t'ont vu, mon Dieu, les eaux t'ont vu; et elles ont eu peur, et les abîmes ont été troublés.
17 Great was the sound of the waters. The clouds uttered a voice. For your arrows also pass by.
Le fracas des eaux a longuement retenti; les nuées ont fait entendre des voix, car tes flèches les ont traversées.
18 The voice of your thunder is like a wheel. Your flashes have illuminated the whole world. The earth has quaked and trembled.
La voix de ton tonnerre a retenti dans la voûte du ciel; tes éclairs ont brillé sur le monde; la terre a frémi et tremblé.
19 Your way is through the sea, and your paths are through many waters. And your traces will not be known.
Ta voie est au fond de la mer; et tes sentiers sont recouverts par des amas d'eau, et l'on ne reconnaîtra pas tes traces.
20 You have conducted your people like sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
Tu as conduit ton peuple comme un troupeau par les mains d'Aaron et de Moïse.
