Psalms 54

1 Unto the end. In verses, the understanding of David, when the Ziphites had arrived and they said to Saul, “Has not David been hidden with us?” Save me, O God, by your name, and judge me in your virtue.

Davidin opetus, edelläveisaajalle, kanteleilla, Kuin Siphiläiset tulivat ja sanoivat Saulille: David on lymyttänyt itsensä meidän tykönämme. Auta minua Jumala sinun nimelläs, ja saata minulle oikeus sinun väkevyydelläs.

2 O God, listen to my prayer. Pay attention to the words of my mouth.

Jumala, kuule minun rukoukseni, ota korviis minun suuni sanat.

3 For strangers have risen up against me, and the strong have sought my soul. And they have not set God before their eyes.

Sillä muukalaiset karkasivat minua vastaan, ja väkivaltaiset väijyivät minun sieluani: ei he pitäneet Jumalaa silmäinsä edessä, (Sela)

4 For behold, God is my helper, and the Lord is the protector of my soul.

Katso, Jumala auttaa minua: Herra tukee minun sieluani.

5 Turn back the evils upon my adversaries, and ruin them by your truth.

6 I will freely sacrifice to you, and I will confess your name, O God, because it is good.

Niin minä mielelläni sinulle uhraan: minä kiitän, Herra, sinun nimeäs, sillä se on hyvä.

7 For you have quickly rescued me from all tribulation, and my eye has looked down upon my enemies.

Sillä hän on pelastanut minun kaikesta hädästä; ja minun silmäni ovat nähneet minun viholiseni.
