< Psalms 48 >

1 A Canticle Psalm. To the sons of Korah, on the second Sabbath. The Lord is great and exceedingly praiseworthy, in the city of our God, on his holy mountain.
Ko e Hiva mo e Saame ki he ngaahi foha ʻo Kola. ‌ʻOku lahi ʻa Sihova, pea ʻoku lelei ke fakamālō lahi kiate ia, ʻi he kolo ʻa hotau ʻOtua, ʻi he moʻunga ʻo ʻene māʻoniʻoni.
2 Mount Zion is being founded with the exultation of the whole earth, on the north side, the city of the great king.
Ko e tuʻunga matamatalelei ʻae moʻunga ko Saione, ko e fiefiaʻanga ʻo māmani kotoa pē, ʻoku ʻi hono potu tokelau ʻae kolo ʻoe Tuʻi lahi.
3 In her houses, God will be known, since he will support her.
‌ʻOku ʻilo ʻae ʻOtua ko e hūfanga ʻi hono ngaahi fale lahi ʻo ia.
4 For behold, the kings of the earth have been gathered together; they have convened as one.
Pea vakai, naʻe fakataha ʻae ngaahi tuʻi, naʻa nau ʻalu atu fakataha.
5 Such did they see, and they were astonished: they were disturbed, they were moved.
Naʻa nau mamata ai, pea nau ofo; naʻa nau mamahi, pea hola.
6 Trembling took hold of them. In that place, their pains were that of a woman in labor.
Naʻe tuia ʻakinautolu ʻi ai ʻi he manavahē, mo e mamahi, ʻo hangē ko e fefine ʻoku langā.
7 With a vehement spirit, you will crush the ships of Tarshish.
‌ʻOku ke maumauʻi ʻae ngaahi vaka ʻo Tasisi ʻaki ʻae matangi hahake.
8 As we have heard, so we have seen, in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God. God has founded it in eternity.
Hangē ko ia naʻa mau fanongo, kuo pehē ʻemau mamata ʻi he kolo ʻa Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ʻi he kolo ʻa hotau ʻOtua: ʻe fakatuʻumaʻu ia ʻe he ʻOtua ʻo taʻengata. (Sila)
9 We have received your mercy, O God, in the midst of your temple.
Kuo mau manatu ki hoʻo ʻaloʻofa, ʻE ʻOtua, ʻi ho loto faletapu.
10 According to your name, O God, so does your praise reach to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is full of justice.
‌ʻO hangē ko ho huafa, ʻE ʻOtua, ʻoku pehē ho ongoongolelei ki he ngaahi ngataʻanga ʻo māmani; ʻoku pito ho nima toʻomataʻu ʻi he māʻoniʻoni.
11 Let mount Zion rejoice, and let the daughters of Judah exult, because of your judgments, O Lord.
Tuku ke fiefia ʻae moʻunga ko Saione, tuku ke nekeneka ʻae ngaahi ʻofefine ʻo Siuta, ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻo ngaahi fakamaau.
12 Encircle Zion and embrace her. Discourse in her towers.
Mou ʻeveʻeva takatakai ʻi Saione, ʻo ʻalu fakatakamilo ʻiate ia: lau hono ngaahi fale māʻolunga ʻo ia.
13 Set your hearts on her virtue. And distribute her houses, so that you may discourse of it in another generation.
Mou vakai lelei ki hono ngaahi puke, tokanga ki hono ngaahi fale lahi; koeʻuhi ke mou tala ia ki he toʻutangata ʻe hoko.
14 For this is God, our God, in eternity and forever and ever. He will rule us forever.
“He ko e ʻOtua ni ko hotau ʻOtua ʻo lauikuonga pea taʻengata: te ne tauhi ʻakitautolu ʻo aʻu ki he mate.”
