< Psalms 45 >

1 Unto the end. For those who will be changed. To the sons of Korah, toward understanding. A Canticle for the Beloved. My heart has uttered a good word. I speak of my works to the king. My tongue is like the pen of a scribe who writes quickly.
Psalm: filiis Core pro iis, qui commutabuntur, in intellectu Canticum pro dilecto. Eructavit cor meum verbum bonum: dico ego opera mea regi. Lingua mea calamus scribae, velociter scribentis.
2 You are a brilliant form before the sons of men. Grace has been poured freely into your lips. Because of this, God has blessed you in eternity.
Speciosus forma prae filiis hominum, diffusa est gratia in labiis tuis: propterea benedixit te Deus in aeternum.
3 Fasten your sword to your thigh, O most powerful one.
Accingere gladio tuo super femur tuum, potentissime,
4 With your splendor and your excellence extended, proceed prosperously, and reign for the sake of truth and meekness and justice, and so will your right hand lead you wondrously.
Specie tua et pulchritudine tua intende, prospere procede, et regna, Propter veritatem et mansuetudinem, et iustitiam: et deducet te mirabiliter dextera tua.
5 Your arrows are sharp; the people will fall under you, with the hearts of the enemies of the king.
Sagittae tuae acutae, populi sub te cadent, in corda inimicorum regis.
6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of true aim.
Sedes tua Deus in saeculum saeculi: virga directionis virga regni tui.
7 You have loved justice and hated iniquity. Because of this, God, your God, has anointed you, before your co-heirs, with the oil of gladness.
Dilexisti iustitiam, et odisti iniquitatem: propterea unxit te Deus Deus tuus oleo laetitiae prae consortibus tuis.
8 Myrrh and balsam and cinnamon perfume your garments, from the houses of ivory. From these, they have delighted you:
Myrrha, et gutta, et casia a vestimentis tuis, a domibus eburneis: ex quibus delectaverunt te
9 the daughters of kings in your honor. The queen assisted at your right hand, in clothing of gold, encircled with diversity.
filiae regum in honore tuo. Astitit regina a dextris tuis in vestitu deaurato: circumdata varietate.
10 Listen, daughter, and see, and incline your ear. And forget your people and your father’s house.
Audi filia, et vide, et inclina aurem tuam: et obliviscere populum tuum, et domum patris tui.
11 And the king will desire your beauty. For he is the Lord your God, and they will adore him.
Et concupiscet rex decorem tuum: quoniam ipse est Dominus Deus tuus, et adorabunt eum.
12 And the daughters of Tyre will entreat your countenance with gifts: all the rich men of the people.
Et filiae Tyri in muneribus vultum tuum deprecabuntur: omnes divites plebis.
13 All the glory of the daughter of its king is inside, in golden fringes,
Omnis gloria eius filiae regis ab intus, in fimbriis aureis
14 clothed all around with diversities. After her, virgins will be led to the king. Her neighbors will be brought to you.
circumamicta varietatibus. Adducentur regi virgines post eam: proximae eius afferentur tibi.
15 They will be brought with gladness and exultation. They will be led into the temple of the king.
Afferentur in laetitia et exultatione: adducentur in templum regis.
16 For your fathers, sons have been born to you. You will establish them as leaders over all the earth.
Pro patribus tuis nati sunt tibi filii: constitues eos principes super omnem terram.
17 They will remember your name always, for generation after generation. Because of this, people will confess to you in eternity, even forever and ever.
Memores erunt nominis tui in omni generatione et generationem. Propterea populi confitebuntur tibi in aeternum: et in saeculum saeculi.
