< Psalms 44 >
1 Unto the end. To the sons of Korah, toward understanding. We have heard, O God, with our own ears. Our fathers have announced to us the work that you wrought in their days and in the days of antiquity.
2 Your hand dispersed the Gentiles, and you transplanted them. You afflicted a people, and you expelled them.
3 For they did not take possession of the land by their sword, and their own arm did not save them. But your right hand and your arm, and the light of your countenance did so, because you were pleased with them.
Se pa t' avèk nepe pèp ou a te pran peyi a, se pa t' fòs ponyèt yo ki te fè yo genyen batay la. Men, se te pouvwa ou ak fòs ponyèt pa ou ki te penmèt yo fè tou sa. Ou te la avèk yo pou ba yo kouraj. Ou te fè tou sa paske ou renmen yo.
4 You yourself are my king and my God, who commands the salvation of Jacob.
Se ou ki wa mwen, se ou ki Bondye mwen. Fè pitit Jakòb yo jwenn delivrans.
5 With you, we will brandish a horn before our enemies; and in your name, we will spurn those rising up against us.
Avèk pouvwa ou, nou kilbite lènmi nou yo. Avèk ou menm ki la avèk nou an, n'ap kraze moun ki leve dèyè nou yo.
6 For I will not hope in my bow, and my sword will not save me.
Mwen p'ap mete konfyans mwen nan banza. Se pa nepe m' ki pou delivre m'.
7 For you have saved us from those who afflict us, and you have bewildered those who hate us.
8 In God, we will give praise all day long; and in your name, we will confess forever.
Se chak jou n'ap fè lwanj ou. Se tout tan n'ap nonmen non ou, n'ap di ou mèsi.
9 But now, you have rejected and bewildered us, and you will not go forth with our armies, O God.
Men koulye a, Bondye, ou vire do ban nou, ou fè nou pran wont, ou pa soti ansanm avèk lame nou yo ankò.
10 You have turned our back to our enemies, and those who hated us have plundered for themselves.
Ou fè nou kouri devan lènmi nou yo. Moun ki pa vle wè nou yo ap piye nou alèz.
11 You have given us over like sheep for food. You have scattered us among the Gentiles.
12 You have sold your people without a price, and no great number was exchanged for them.
Ou vann pèp ou a pou gremesi, ou pa fè okenn benefis sou li.
13 You have set us as a disgrace to our neighbors, a scoff and a derision to those who are around us.
Ou fè nasyon ki bò kote nou yo ap pase nou nan betiz Wi, yo tout ap lonje dwèt sou nou, y'ap pase nou nan rizib.
14 You have set us as a parable among the Gentiles, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
15 All day long my shame is before me, and the confusion of my face has covered me,
-(we vèsè pwochen)
16 before the voice of the reproacher and the commentator, before the face of the adversary and the pursuer.
Lè m' tande moun k'ap joure m' yo, moun k'ap vekse m' yo, mwen pa ka gade yo nan je. Lè m' devan lènmi ak moun ki pa vle wè m' yo, lawont fè m' bouche figi m'.
17 All these things have come upon us, yet we have not forgotten you, and we have not acted unjustly in your covenant.
Nou pa t' manke anyen nan kontra ou fè avèk nou an.
18 And our heart has not turned back. And you have not diverted our steps from your way.
Nou pa janm vire do ba ou, nou pa janm kite chemen ou mete devan nou an.
19 For you humbled us in a place of affliction, and the shadow of death has covered us.
20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, and if we have extended our hands to a foreign god,
Si nou te bliye rele Bondye nou an, si nou te lapriyè yon lòt bondye,
21 will not God find this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.
22 For, because of you, we are being killed all day long. We are considered as sheep for the slaughter.
Yo gade nou tankou mouton y'ap pare pou labatwa.
23 Rise up. Why do you fall asleep, O Lord? Rise up, and do not reject us in the end.
Louvri je ou, Seyè. Poukisa w'ap dòmi konsa? Leve non. Pa voye nou jete nèt!
24 Why do you turn your face away, and why do you forget our needfulness and our tribulation?
Poukisa ou vire do ban nou konsa? Poukisa ou bliye anba ki tray nou ye, jan y'ap peze nou?
25 For our soul has been humbled into the dust. Our belly has been bound to the earth.
Nou tonbe san fòs nan pousyè a. Nou kouche sou vant atè plat.
26 Rise up, O Lord. Help us and redeem us, because of your name.
